  • Just a quick update to report that I have been potting regularly, little and often. And managing to add the odd fiver to my fiver tin.

Have booked a holiday to majorca in July and am debating whether to keep topping the fiver tin up and then open it in July to help with holiday spending money (then start another one for July to Nov)

    decisions, decisions....

  • No potting for me today - mostly because the look of that weather I'm refusing to step out the front door today!

Managed to get a lot of jobs done today though. Also finished up a project for work that I'm hoping will see me get a new position and/or payrise. If nothing else it will mean more hours at work....

Partner has got a shiny £1 on the side however from her sister buying kindle books off her account. Would feel a bit wrong though to pot it before she's even seen it....

    Evening all.
Determined_83 - welcome to the thread and MSE. Good luck with your savings.

    I potted 3 x £2, 2 x 50p and a 20p coins = £7.20 potted.

I spent quite a bit today (for my standards), but picked up loads of bargains and stuff needed. Happy with my outlay. lol

Well done one the potting everyone. You got some bargains Sue :D I want to go shopping but I don't need anything, so I would end up buying stuff just for the sake of it.

Am also freaking out as I have OCD and am wondering how ill wash my hands! I have to wash them 4 times at least when I'm making lunch! Think I'm going to have to travel the 10 mins up the road to mums every time it need the loo as the thought of going and not washing my hands is more than I can bear thinking about :o

Does it *have* to be water or could you use one of those antibac handgel thingies? If not, buy a few litres of water from the supermarket - Value range stuff is pretty cheap and it will save you traipsing up and down the road "in case of emergency" :D

A good day's potting for me today - £2.13 in various bits of change, £6 of £2 coins to my £2 coin jar (not counted as part of this challenge, but it's a pot!) and another £2 saved and potted for blagging a lift home and not getting the bus ;)
  • £19.51 - not bad considering I thought it would be a bad week. Also got back payment of £103 but had a parking ticket of £65 so gonna try and bank the excess if poss.

    That's more like it.

Forgot to add, but 5p road-kill today. I don't save 5p's and was going to leave it for one of you lot. But I picked it up in case a non-potter grabbed it. :rotfl:

    )

Its ok, all over :D new boiler in and water back on! I compromised with washing my hands with water from the kettle and we just had one cup of tea until they finished work at 2:30 :o bless him, DH understands my need so was happy to forgo his cuppa to keep my sanity :o I think the workmen thought I was a bit psycho though, thank god they didn't notice the 12 bottles of hand wash I had stacked on the stairs  :rotfl:

Thank you for the ideas though :) worth keeping in mind in case of emergency :D

£1 in the buy back pot today and 2p from under the washing machine when the workmen pulled it out to check the pipes :T
