Well I am feeling RUBBISH this morning after a horrible night at College and Therapy.....Just feel like I am completely useless and a horrible person....But I still have to Work and just move on from it....hopefully next Week will be better!!
On the plus side....I Potted £4.62 this morning...Now THAT'S more like it!!
Welcome to the Newbies and *Hugs* to everyone....xXx0 -
AlwaysHappy wrote: »That's unbelievable!! - Are you going to tackle the instructor about this. Like you say, fair enough if that's the cost, but to be told £10 and then have it double seems to be taking the Michael to me!!!
I shall wait and see if the sewn badges are on the suit first, if they are I will seeth quietly about getting the wrong suit but accept that's pretty cheap for a full karate suit, if they are not I'll be asking why the price changed
Having our boiler replaced today, they have kindly already turned the water off before I've had a chance to get up and have breakfast, use loo etc. DH did manage to remember to fill the kettle (though I bet 10 bob he's left it in the kitchen where they are working so it gets full of dust) but didn't think to fill anything else with water and when reminded I have to take linseed in the morning so have to drink a pint of water at the same time, he went . . . 'Oh 'rude word' I forgot' . . . . Umm only been taking it every day for last 4 months love, right in front of you!
Am also freaking out as I have OCD and am wondering how ill wash my hands! I have to wash them 4 times at least when I'm making lunch! Think I'm going to have to travel the 10 mins up the road to mums every time it need the loo as the thought of going and not washing my hands is more than I can bear thinking about
No pennies yet as I'm still in bed :rotfl: would still be asleep but the noisy so and so's have made sure I'm wide awake :mad:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
It is going to be a slow start for me as I have a broken leg so I am not getting out and about to get change but on the positive side I am also spending less. Will be back in action in next few weeks.
I have started a pot but am not going to count it as I would like it as a surprise for November.SPC #352

Hello Sue-UU, could I join this post please.
I have had a pot I top up for a couple of years now, although I have been running my pot April-March.
Pretty much every day, everything less than 50p goes in.
All £2's go into a pot.
£1's I have found interesting, 2 pots so far for 1983 and 2010 coins, my son and my DOB's, as 1988's are rare the other half doesn't get a chance to save many unfortunately, £5 in the last 2 years??.... will need another pot soon with our second nipper on the way, so we'll see how it goes with 2014 coins when they circulate!
As for a referance to past performance..... I usually seem to save about £200.
The aim is for car tax, but with the car knackered I might just walk for a bit and save it! lol So I will set a goal of £200 as well please.
If starting this challenge I will empty my pot out tonight and give a count up, let you know what I unofficially saved last year :-)
Thanks LoadsLoan - £4668.56

A very warm welcome, Determined_83. It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Enjoy yourself saving, posting and joining in the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1st post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.
Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
Determined_83, you include all your pots when you count them up in November. The £5 in your OH's pot could boost things IF.......you included it in yours! Not that I'm suggesting you should.
Jo3y83, your £300 Target is now alongside your name/No on the 1st page, good luck with reaching it or doing your best in trying to.Lynsey wrote:Less than 10 months to go now - not that I'm counting.
I'm glad you are, Lynsey, as it definitely helps us all to know how far we've come and how far we will have to go to achieve our Targets.
Good for you with the tutoring, tatabubbly, anything that helps increase your income has to be good.
Behave yourself where that pocket money's concerned, Hollygym.Oh deary me, that's a heck of a lot for music lessons for your little darlings, good to have behind them though and you're doing them proud.
Good wishes with e!ay, bellevie.
Ah, your firm don't know the power of gold stars as we do, Ruth.
You're doing so very well, Tom, keep it up. :jVickyA wrote:Snaffled £1 from DH's stash on his bedside table. Honestly, rich pickings.
Ooooooh, a nice one, Vicky!! Not that I encourage it of course.....!
If they can't be bothered themselves, mummalove, then you HAVE to benefit!! ..and washing used to be such a chore! :rotfl:
Very good news, skyblueshez, time to settle down now - and save.jakes-mum wrote:Bit peeved as DD and DS both go to karate, was told if we re-used the badges of the old suit of DD's that her new suit would be £10, DH gives DS £20 note as that's all he had, DS hands it to the instructor who said 'yep £20 that's how much it costs' and pocketed the lot  I don't begrudge paying £20 if that's what I'm told it costs, but I do object to the price seemingly being set by how much money a 12 year old has in his hand at the time
Why not tackle them about it, jakes-mum, as that's grossly wrong! I'd be fuming. :mad:Loveactually wrote:So can I still count the money put in by DH for the challenge?
Are you not subscribed to the thread, Loveactually? To do so, click on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread". Of course you an include money put in by your DH, if the dog put a £5er in you could still include it, put it that way.
Well done, Verity...
.....you too, Rosy.
Sorry to hear about the fish dying, braddy, when you say 'they' how many did you lose? Are you cold water or tropical? In other words if they're tropical is your PH, nittrite and nitrate etc all alright?DreamerHelen_ wrote:Well I am feeling RUBBISH this morning after a horrible night at College and Therapy.....Just feel like I am completely useless and a horrible person....But I still have to Work and just move on from it....hopefully next Week will be better!!

Oh dear, Helen, if that's how therapy leaves you feeling, I think I'd forget it. :rotfl:Or are you not telling us all of it? Please, don't bother if you'd sooner not. Anyway, you sound a lot chirpier at the end with your potting.
So sorry to hear about your leg, LordDuke, that's you out of action for a few weeks then, no doubt you'll make up for it just as soon as you. Not counting and having a surprise at the end is great.
Well done, Gilly, it sounds as though you're really saving hard which is great news for all the family. By the way, you can include all other challenges on MSE here when you declare your savings in November! It you wish and please don't forget to pop your holiday savings on your signature, thanks.
21p's still good, Nell, as you well know.
DH & I went shopping yesterday and went to BH* for socks for DH that were perfect a couple of weeks ago. However, yesterday they were reduced to £3.50 so we bought 2 lots!DH needed some slippers, but they didn't have any (£12ers) in size 10, but the salesman said "they had some in P!imark at Christmas". Off we go and get an ideal pair for £4!!!! :jThey also had socks 3 for just £2, just what DH & I need for walking boots!!! If they're that good we'll get another pack next week. Yes, I've potted the difference as well as a £10 after grocery shopping in M!!!sons! So a cool £25 potted in the UU's pot!!
Enjoy your day, SPCers, and keep right on saving!!
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
