Not having a brilliant week money wise.
I had to put into a collection for someone retiring and there was a lunch time do! ( I already sent my a pols to the night do so couldn't really get out of it).
Just got back from shopping and brought a bottle of wine as a treat, having lasagne for tea but had no lasagne so had to go to corner shop where it was £1.39 - I'm sure I could have got it for half that earlier when I was in Aldi! Doh!
So.. I have just checked my purse and managed to put 5x20p in my pot so that is all I can manage this week! ( I don't put copper in as I have a bag for that and take it to coin star!)

Hope everyone has a good weekend and week ahead

£1.13 in the pot for me today. The change from mcd's.

Not sure whether I will have any change tomorrow. I need some under bed boxes but they are £10 exactly. I am also going ww but that is already paid for.

We just had a tremendous 5 minute storm here, thunder, lightening and hailstones but now the sky is clear again. V. Strange :D

I only had £1.40 to pot today but then a friend gave me £20 for a theatre ticket I bought ages ago for her. I don't *need* the money right now so have potted it. It'll be a good extra when I open the pot.

A very warm welcome, HelenRachel. It's lovely to have you with us. :grinheart Enjoy yourself saving, posting and joining in the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1st post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

A gold star to you, 32b3, on a lovely welcome, thank you. :staradmin BTW, indeed I will keep up the saving, honest. Give your little treasures some cuddles for me, bless em. :A:A I just LOVE storms like you had, so exhilarating, though we've plenty of rain yer in Somerset so I'd feel guilty hoping for another storm, though look out with tomorrow's weather!! :(

Considering all they need to do to fit a tow bar and electrics to cars, jakes-mum, that was a pretty good price. Ours for our previous car cost around £300 and that was about 6 years ago, so not bad at all.

Never mind, moomin, but next time.....take a brolly! :rotfl:

Thank you soooo much to MOOMIN and SUE. Very grateful for both of your quitting tips and tricks. I'm going to stock up tomorrow with chewing gum, fruit etc and put it all in place Sunday. So last dirty fag will be Saturday night and no going back :-) I'll keep u updated with my progress and of course how much I've saved ;-)

No problem at all, Saver88, just pleased to be of help, and don't forget you know where I am, use me! I reckon you'll have all SPCers behind you too so plenty of support and urging you forward - and don't forget the Quitter's Pledge for the morning and remind yourself of it throughout the day when necessary. :D You're welcome re the holiday money.

    Well done, Tom. :T

Well it has been a very dry sealed pot until today. I have yet again attempted stopping smoking so far 8 days. So today £57 potted will hopefully pot this once a month.
    Hope everyone well.

That's just excellent, shinner!!!!! :T:j:T Now then, if you can do 8 days then.....chances are you can keep it going! Go on! You CAN DO IT!!!!! :j

Ah well, whatever it takes, Nell, though IF they have to pay for new ones then hopefully it might make them think twice - hope so. :D

    Good for you, Gayle! :D

had a quick trip to asda to get my eldest his birthday cake and some other things, wrote a list before we went so had an idea how much I was going to spend, used the self check out bit and came in £5.16 cheaper so it chucked out the change and to my amazement 2 x £2.. 1 x £1 and 16p in coppers lol I was nearly jumping for joy as I love my £2s so the gold coins put into my cake jar and all the change from my purse (over £4 ) added to the tin making my new total is £110 x

That is just brilliant, braddy, VERY well done!!!!

Good for you, Delilahh, and well spotted!

Oh dear Helen, that's a real shame, but at least you had it by. Maybe you're as well setting up the emergency fund so you don't need to dip, then if you don't need it you can add it to your pot. See what you think. No point in avoiding the thread though as you're only a PM away! ;)

Well just a lovely shiny £2 coin and 75p in change from me 0h and a big fat £10er from not taking lunches to work. ;)

I also am filling my pot up and feel it won't be long before I need another as some of the notes saved from not taking lunch to work are beginning to make it difficult to put in the coins :T::j:T:j:T:T:j:T

    How exciting is that :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The really big dilemma question is do I leave the pot sealed until magic Sunday - yes you all know the one :D OR do I bank the contents in my savings :eek::eek: :think::think:

I am completely split 50/50 part of me wants to save it :A:A:A and the other is wanting to open to see what's there :naughty::naughty:

Terrific news about the £10er saved, Meowhouse!!!! :j With regards to you dilemma, if you're split 50/50 then why not use it that way, but either way you still include it with your SPC saving and pop the amount on your siggy. BTW, sorry, but I've forgotten when or what magic Sunday is. :o Sorry.

You've got it right, blubella, look after them and they'll build into £££s ;)

That's a good'n, Lynsey, ooooh if only! :rotfl:

Ooooooh Modesty, to describe food as scrumptiousness means it just had to be delicious, then to pay next to now for it, what can I say apart from good on you! :grinheartWell done the pot too.

Brilliant work, AlwaysHappy! Stay as virtuous as you like. :A

Finders keepers, cattysmum, though it was probably his Mum's anyway! Keeping it in the family is good.

So, another virtuous one then, GettingOrganised, nicely done. :A

Never mind, claireyfairy, I'm not a huge lover of cleaning either, but very therapeutic once it's finished. Some amazing savings you've got there, I reckon you HAVE got the hang of it. You'll not be wanting to go to the sales next year at this rate!!!!! :rotfl: Beeps and tatties??

Chin up, Pickle, some you win - some you.........! Sorry, you already knew that. ;)

Have a really lovely Sunday, potters, and keep up the saving! :D

PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. :D Please change numbers ASAP folks.

    Evening everyone :hello:

I've been AWOL from this thread as I've had nothing to pot, until today! 60p potted. Hoping for more tomorrow and then fingers crossed nothing until the end of the week. As I take sandwiches to work I just keep things ticking over in my pot.

I put all my notes into my ISA and keep track in my signature, if that helps. I'd be too tempted to buy expensive duvet covers if it was in my pot!! :rotfl::rotfl:
