Thank you soooo much to MOOMIN and SUE. Very grateful for both of your quitting tips and tricks. I'm going to stock up tomorrow with chewing gum, fruit etc and put it all in place Sunday. So last dirty fag will be Saturday night and no going back :-) I'll keep u updated with my progress and of course how much I've saved ;-)

Keeping on note, potted £2.20 courtesy of hubby. And SUE thank you I will add my holiday savings to my signature :-) xx

Of course you can, but I must warn you that this saving lark is really addictive. Sue will be along to give you a number, in the meantime, have a look at post 1 for a few tips :D. It's not hard really, just put coins in sealed pot and there you are.... Saving :D. Welcome.

Woop woop on the £10 potting Sue, keep it up xx

I hate to say it but yes they are terramundi pots. I am working on the basis that the smashing of the pots is the exciting bit at the end of all there saving for one year...........you've gotta find an angle to get them interested, when you are 8 and 12 years old and looking at a "WHOLE YEAR" of saving. lol.

  • Hi everyone, had a quick trip to asda to get my eldest his birthday cake and some other things, wrote a list before we went so had an idea how much I was going to spend, used the self check out bit and came in £5.16 cheaper so it chucked out the change and to my amazement 2 x £2.. 1 x £1 and 16p in coppers lol I was nearly jumping for joy as I love my £2s so the gold coins put into my cake jar and all the change from my purse (over £4 ) added to the tin making my new total is £110 x

Doing some more de-cluttering in my flat and found 9 bags of 1p's and 2p's, so I've found a separate home for them. They've not gone in the pot, but it's still £9 I didn't realise I had.
