a lovely £6.50 in the pot today from 2 FB sales :D:D

unfortunately I was not paying attention when potting and managed to chuck a £2 coin in the big tin and a £1 coin in the £2 coin tin *rolls eyes*. Was DH's fault he was talking to me at he same time!

Also forgot that at Mr T I bought DD's birthday cards and her one from jake went through at £2 not £1.50 so got double the difference back :j :j will pot the £1 when ive got one :D

  • Just 9p in the pot so far today. Plan on raiding OHs wallet for coppers when he gets back later.

Going to be more moneysaving this year! Sealed pot kind of got forgotten last year.
Started doing slicethepie again for some extra money (yawn!).
We are decorating our new house and I am now going to go and paint a beside table I got from the chairty shop for £5.
  • Potted £2.12 today, it's starting to sound less empty now when I put the money in! Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday.
    # 072 'Save 12K in 2015' - £345 / £3000

  • Hi, please can i join in? :) I think I'm pretty frugal with money anyway but need some extra encouragement to put some savings aside. I already have a sealed pot - I was given one a few years back & it sadly sits there empty for most of the time! :o (but not anymore!)
I will aim for £100 to start with (but hope to put that up depending on how successful I am). I've put £6 in already and am looking forward to finding pavement pennies (I think I prefer that term to roadkill! ).
I am on a low income and my partner is being made redundant (next week!) so I'd really like to have some money put aside for when times are tough.
I did see 5p on the floor when I was in the newsagents earlier but felt too embarrassed to pick it up as someone was looking! :o Does anyone else feel embarrassed when picking up money off the floor if there are other people about? Thanks. :)

Of course you can join us, Madrabbitgirl. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 27th Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

Madrabbitgirl, there may have been a time for a lot of us that we felt a little shy of picking money up off the floor or ground, but the fact is, that if you don't pick it up....someone else will, and why not let you benefit from it. If possible gentle your foot to it and bring it back to you while you're 'engrossed' in something else ie. checking your purse/handbag anything, then when there aren't many eyes there grab it!! :D

I've set your target to the £100 you require, but if at any time you'd like it altered, please just ask and I'll gladly do so. So sorry to read about your partner's redundancy, all the very best that he/she will find another job quickly - who knows, maybe even a better one or with more money! Fingers crossed for you both.

Good to hear you're more determined this year, bargainlover, good luck.

PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. forums.moneysavingexpert.com Please change numbers ASAP folks.

If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!

    Very many thanks indeed.
    Sue x

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. There may be a lot of us, but don't be shy, we're a lovely lot, so come on in.

  • Thanks Sue-UU, will do! I'll have to try the 'pretending to be engrossed in something' method next time!
