  • Hi everyone - never done this before but would love to join in please. Me and my 6 year old are off to Butlins in August so would want to open it then. I'm now going to find a pot and seal it and then have a good look round the house for loose change - will update on the amount. Am also doing Grocery Challenge so this should fit well alongside that challenge : )

Welcome to the best thread ever blissfullydebtfreewannabe and Nikkiclaire

If you read post one it explains everything then Sue will be along to give you a number in the meantime find a pot and start saving. As you can see from the above post myself and Jakes-Mum are like angels so if you follow our example you will be fine and it will make Sue so happy.

Sue is the boss and works very hard to keep this thread going Sparky is the super counter upper so should you ever bank any of your pot savings just pop it onto your signature so he can put it on his spreadsheet thank you. Keep posting all your news as we are a very [STRIKE]nosey[/STRIKE]interested bunch.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Hope 2014 is a good year for everyone

Can I join please? I started a 79p sealed coin tin (the home bargains ones) in November time and the children were given them for Christmas from a well meaning relative - but I am snaffling them for me to use for sealed pots as they have lots of money boxes already.
I'm saving 5, 10 and 20p coins in my sealed tins, 2 and 1p coins go into a jar in the cupboard.
I clear out my purse every time I spend anything and get rid of anything smaller than a 50p, hopefully I'll manage to save a chunk this year :)

I had one of these tins this year. They are a right in the backside to open.

Have potted the shrapnel my sister gave me today.

  • We'll I have made a tin and sealed it and looked all around house where I leave loose change - collected a total of £17.65. This was scattered everywhere- coat pockets, shelves, bottom of bags - so I have made a reasonable start. Now to keep it up and to really thinking about whether I need to buy things - I buy so much rubbish! I am aiming for £200 to be opened in August. Feeling very focused for the new year : )

It's a rocking NYE here, so I made a sealed pot by washing out an old hot chocolate tub I would otherwise have binned and wrapping it in pretty paper :D

I've potted £4.15 today, which is a good start to it, hopefully with much more to follow.
