    Hi Everyone,

Well the last day of the DDD challenge and it was another spend day for me. Had to take one of the dogs to the vet so £42 spent that was not budgeted for. Too low to caim on the insurance I think as I'm use we have an excess to pay. I will double check though to make sure. As it was already a spend day I took the opportunity to buy myself a more MSE friendly diary. A page a day so I can list all payments, menus, targets etc in it :j:j

This means I will declare on 11/15 SFD's (note to self "must do better")

One of my highs for Dec was buying a medium turkey for £12 for Christmas dinner for 2 of us. From this I managed to make or freeze the following:

    2 x Christmas Dinner
    9 x Turkey Curry
    2 x Turkey Soup
2 x Singapore Noodles - when added to some beef already in he freezer
1 x Spanish omelette to serve 3 people
10 x portions of dog food

Sounds a lot but you don't actually need a lot of meat when it's bulked out with vegetable etc. :money:

Hope everyone who has been ill is feeling better and on the way to good health.

Off to start setting up my new diary now :)

Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous new year.

Hope to see you all on the other side.

    Chez x
That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"

Just a quick final DDD post from me (I have been reading...and have been DDDing but have been REALLY busy seeing friends and family over the last week and not had time to post).

I just wanted to say a massive HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you. I've had an amazing 2013 and loved sharing the journey we're all on. I'm excited for 2014 and can't wait to see you all on the other side :)

I'm rushing as I've spent the day with one friend and now I'm heading down to see another friend for the night. We're staying in so it will of course be DDD compatible, but I can't say it'll be quiet or early _party_

Massive hugs to you all and I hope you all have an amazing night...and an even more amazing 2014!!

Happy New Years Eve everyone :)

Had a boring but productive day doing my temping 'mission' but worked 9 hours, including travel, and get to claim petrol back at quite a generous rate :) Fingers crossed, if my calculations are right, I will get my ccard balance to below £1000 when they pay me :T

Unfortunately, today was not a SFD as bought a drink so that I could sit in a cafe for several hours whilst on my mission. I also used the time to get a couple of hours of marking done :A

Also decided to buy a takeaway tonight as OH and I are staying in and my January budget is almost spent, so as soon as it's gone, there can be no more spending. Maybe in February I'll give myself a £0 budget so I don't feel the need to spend ;)

Hope everyone has had a lovely day and had a lovely NYE. Good luck to all those who are working tonight, especially any NHSers, I can imagine NYE is an eventful one? Although maybe the madness doesn't spread past A&E?

  • Hellooooooo and a Goodbye to 2013 and the end of NSK's December challenge!

    Monthly Round up:

14/15 Sfds - Oops. I spent a grand total of £2.08 yesterday. 59p on a New Home card for a friend and £1.49 on a lovely reef 2014 calendar for my noticeboard & a matching diary (So I suppose that works out about 75p/piece). But still a loss of my 15th Sfd (doh!)

Today, I have just purchased my Lonely Planet Hawaii book from Am@z0n. It's over £5 cheaper than the shops for the latest addition. I also downloaded the free mini Lonely Planet Book to my Kindle-'Hawaii or the Carribean?' To keep me busy whilst awaiting the arrival of my info crammed Hawaii book. (Excited) :j Tonight is a planned Spend from budget. I have already pre-paid £5 deposit for my meal with close friends, just £7.99 to pay for remainder of 3 course meal and a few more bob for some drinkies. Getting a lift to the pub but a shared taxi back. Just a small crowd of us this eve, taking games and silly things to wear. Just giving everyone a break from hosting this year as we do usually have New Year round one of our houses.

    Foodbank - £8.63/ £5.00 :)

Savings and Emergency Fund Kick-started :T Finally great to make a start on both!

Looking forward to Jan's Challenge- especially health section as haven't been for a run in over a week! So it will be great to track for incentive purposes. :j

I am Self-imposing a money making rule for January. I need to renew my passport, so will need to make approximately £90 to cover: photos, check and send costs and renewal fee.
Last night I signed up to T0pc@shback and clicked through links to both equif@x and 'experi@n' and have signed up for the free-monthly trial (which I must cancel within 30 days). I've been meaning to check my credit file for over a year so am pleased to have done it with the added incentive of cash-back (£17.60 currently tracking from combination of the companies free-trials incentive scheme). No idea when it will clear so won't count it until it has cleared. I also signed up to Noddle whilst I was at, and am very pleased with details on my credit files. :)

Have been quite productive and have filed away all of the bank statements from the year (as I usually do) and chuffed to see the difference a year makes (ie. Interest at 0)!

Have also found my EHIC and have finally been able to apply for a replacement as this ran out... a year and a half ago and they wouldn't let me renew without the ID number on my old one. Not that I have needed to use it as I haven't been abroad for 4 years!!

    Right enough wittering on!

I hope you all have a fabulous New Years Eve, whether your out and about, working or relaxing at home! See you on the otherside!

So long 2013 and Hellloooooooooooooooooo 2014!

  • :)A happy new year to all:)

I was wondering if there was a January thread to this as I am keen to join. I have done this challenge previously and found it to be very effective at keeping me on track..

Hey brokemedic. There certainly is a January thread. Link should hopefully be below:

If not, it's called NSK; The Janus Illusion. (I think).

    Happy new year!!

  • Quick check in before the end of the month!

Had a rough day at work, things didn't quite go how I wanted them to, which just frustrated me and made me grumpy. People always throw spanners in when I really don't need them!

Anyways, tescimos let me down and didn't have any mozzarella sticks for me to feast on, so it was pasta and cheese for tea.

Budget for Janus pretty much worked out and spreadsheet ready to go.

Happy New Year folks, I look forward to what 2014 has in store for all of us!

  • Evening all. Hope everyone is having a good NYE. I'm in tonight - watching tv, with a bottle of sparkly to open later,

I clocked up my 15th SFD today - so well chuffed with that. I did buy a magazine and paper today as I had a £2 voucher that had to be used today, and got 25p change. I wanted to get a magazine as that is one habit I need to stop in 2014 - a couple of pounds a week on magazines soon mounts up, and I could be using that money elsewhere.

Looking forward to starting the new challenge tomorrow.

Have a good evening everyone and an early Happy New Year! See you in 2014!
