TiptoesDB I miss my puddy cat! Good luck in the shops - seriously would not want to be in your shoes. I am having to go in tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it... "I wish three great journeyings of calm"...lets us know when you are back alive...:rotfl:
Aw, NSK, where's puddy cat whilst you get treated back at your Ma's? I bet you do miss her... before I moved back north and met DH, when I lived in London I used to drive hours up the motorway home for Xmas with cat on my knees (naughty I know) as I couldn't bear to spend xmas without him!
RosieCheeksBlossom wow, you are a real friend. What a lovely thing to do. Like others, I feel a bit anxious for you, but I know for a few close friends and family I would totally do the same thing. I really hope it all works out for you and for them.
Splodgethefirst yes, I think you should do it! bank it too then it's out of temptations' way...

Evening all. SFD number 8 for me today! I went out for breakfast with my dad today and pleaded poverty (well I am a bit short of funds until pay day). I will definitely pay next time we go out for something to eat (as long as it is in January!) as I do owe him a meal.
I have had another lovely chilled out day today - TV and knitting. Got 2 more days at work then I am finished until the 2nd January, so looking forward to a long break, and hopefully a few more SFDs! Am planning on staying out of the sales - not only do I not NEED anything, I really can't be doing with the crowds in the shops. I would much rather go out for a nice walk, followed by a laze on the settee (with some of my stash of chocolate and crisps).
Have a good Monday everyone!0 -
Hugs to Lovedove Hope the jingly socks work. May need a lend of them.
Stressed out tonight, funeral tomorrow, now ex.partner going, awful weather forecast. Other relative still in a bad way. 2014 needs to be a better year.

Not been on here over the weekend and this thread moves on really fast.
I've had a couple of spendy days but nothing major. Had to buy food for the chooks and bought a couple of raffle tickets at the local hospice shop.
Still in budget and have the grand total of 48p left out of the Christmas budget. This will go into the penny jar as I'm not buying anything else now.
Got nearly £17 still in my housekeeping budget and this is for any milk etc that's needed.
Hoping I can make do with what I've got until New Years eve and then start the New Year off with an underspend. That would be a first.
I've got alot of weight to lose and I love bread, butter, cheese and I have sugar in tea. Not a good place to be.
I've done the reduced carb diet in the past and felt loads better but there's lots of lovely carbs around at the minute. Wish I'd got the willpower to start again now but realistically it will be Jan 1st.
I'll get the Christmas stuff out of the way as I don't want to waste it but I'm going to buy some soya milk for my porridge and get back to just having one cuppa a day and then drinking herbal tea. It's a start.
I also need to get my backside off the couch and get some walking done and go back to doing yoga.
I hope Christmas is not stressing you all out too much.
I send love and hugs to those who need them and hope we can all get through the holiday period and clock up a few NSD.

Morning, so I've made 14 SFDs so far and today will be a spendy one as me and the children are having our hair cut, it's probably going to cost £30 for the 3 of us so not too bad.
DS is still really poorly, he is refusing to eat (spots in his mouth) and is waking up several times a night as he has developed a nasty cough so I'm feeling pretty tired at the moment. On the upside, DH finishes today for Christmas and then we are both off till Friday so looking forward to that,as usual don't know what time he will be home tonight :-(
It's annoying me to read FB status updates about the next sale, I've not done one for years as despite the VIP slots they never seem to have anything and people go silly crazy and it quite frankly annoys me. I don't understand the hysteria?! Unless you need it, it ain't a bargain!
Another thing I don't get this time of year is that people seem to think their vegetables will go off quicker just because it's Christmas so they can't possibly buy them when they would normally buy veg. I don't get it! Why does Christmas turn people into nutters? Work was crazy when I went in yesterday, it is only a day after all!
Sorry rant over, I just can't bear sale shopping (which is a good job doing this challenge) and I can't bear food shopping at the best of times! I'm such a grump!
On another note, I've been inspired by some of you with your healthy ways and am making a resolution to take better care of myself next year, I've lost a lot of weight recently through work, stress and not eating properly. I drink too much coffee and don't eat enough so I must start making changes! Some days I don't even brush my hair or even look in the mirror so I must start to take time for me.
Also DH and I need to make more time for each other, due to our work patterns we barely see each other so we've decided to plan and budget in a night out once a month.
I hope everyone has a good day today :-)Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Morning all,
Just a quick post as off to my temping job in a minute. I'm really excited as I'm finally going near the shop that I need to get my final Xmas present from. I've been waiting for weeks but as I never go near it and didn't want to waste the petrol on the 25 mile round trip but my temping job is nearby
MrsGSR I'm afraid I'm one of those people who goes to the Next sale at ridiculous o'clock. I hate clothes shopping but actually like the Next sale as I don't have to try it on and usually return a lot of items. This year I've decided I can only go if I get Next vouchers for Xmas and can only spend the vouchers I have (apart from buying presents, cards and gift wrap for next year)
Hope everyone who has broken up has a lovely day. I'm contemplating going to the gym later but would rather leave it until 27th and start exercise and diet together.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Like I said to someone else maybe I have just had bad luck :rotfl: I've never been able to find anything online and it's too crowded in store.

Good morning!
Reporting a SFD yesterday and I think that today will be too as we're in a remote village where you have to make an effort to get to the shops and I don't think I can be bothered!Seriously money saving0
