I have invented a really nice couscous bolognaise (it's like spaghetti bolognaise, but I've stirred couscous into the bolognaise) so I shall be having that tomorrow :j

My Dad decided he didn't want some reduced frozen stuff back last night (we've had it in our chest freezer and my folk's one is rammed full). There's sliced cooked flavoured chicken in the stuff he didn't want so I can see some if next week's lunches in a wrap :D

We have chilli jam cooling in the pan at the mo which will help perk up lunches and leftovers over Christmas no end

    Good morning all :)

    Soworried-i have updated you :)

Right then, i can officially announce that the lunchsize sausage rolls were a huge success! In fact, they were such a success that there are only 4 out of 6 left, as we ate 1 each already :D No doubt my oldest will have 1 when he gets home from school too!
Really cheap to make, as i already had all the ingredients apart from the sausagement which was only £2. I only used half of it though, so have enough for another 6 :)

No cleaning for me today, instead i am doing paperwork for HMRC etc. Oh the joys! I do have quite a few extra hours next week though. People have friends and family staying and want me to come and clean before they all arrive :) More £ for me!

Shortie your YS bargains sound great!

Good morning all, day 5 for me! Honestly, can't believe I haven't spent a penny either at the shops or the works canteen on lunches. After a busy weekend cleaning - booo - went to parents for dinner last night and left with a plate of leftover chicken from a HUGE bird mum had roasted. So chicken and spring onion ciabatta rolls for DS2 and I today :) Freezer was defrosted and cleaned and tonight it's the fridges turn so this weeks lunches could be interesting!

Hi everyone, think I will join in this one! I work directly opposite a petrol station which sells the loveliest pasta salads. I'm terrible for popping in there and buying one along with a can of diet coke (89p!) and scampi fries (addicted!) Need to stop spending so much though and pasta salad is something i can make at home for a fraction of the price. Already bought a pack of 8 cans of diet coke to bring with me for £3, so nice saving there. Shall read this thread through for some more inspiration :) ETA - should be good for the diet as well!

Day 6 done for me :)
Leek and potato as promised :P Have been out for meals twice over the weekend!! FIL paid so that was nice but it means all the good intentions for my diet went out the window! Another strict week this week and hopefully I won't have done too much damage. :-)

  • Hello, hello,

Day 6 for me today. I took a veg stew type thing that I made. There is a huge Christmas buffet in the section with two boxes of chocolate biscuits, shortbread, Pringles, roses, heroes, fruit nuts and loss more...,, so obviously I had to stuff my little face.... Rude not too.

Tomorrow we are going out as a team to a potato shop.....I love jacket potatos ! I know items naughty but it's Christmas!!!
