You just enjoy yourself and think yourself lucky you can manage the gym!0 -
I've said it before on these forums and I'll say it again, being a skinny size 8 may be fabulous when you're 18 but when you're nearly 50, it is not such a good look.
I've always been skinny and after spending a lifetime of having no shape (apart from that of a 14 year old boy) no boobs to speak of, no clothes that fit well, I can't see why on earth women would want to starve themselves so that they can have a body like mine.
Of course, now that I'm older, my face is showing the worse of it. At least those of you with a bit of fat on your faces will not have such deep wrinkles. And yes, I do have cellulite, I do have a saggy butt and knees and yes, my stomach wobbles, concave or not.
Obesity is a health problem, there's no doubt about that. But those of you who are built "bigger", embrace your curves and love your bodies. Men do, small children do and pets do. In fact, the only ones who recoil at a hint of a wobble are other women! But then again, who cares what they think!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

And your post goes to show that even slim women and men can have 'issues' and maybe would change things if they could. I don't mean that to say that everyone (inc you) is 'unhappy' like I was, moreso that we are our own worst enemies sometimes!
Thank you for your input from the other end of the spectrum. It is all helping me realise that we are all different! And you're right, I haven't really got many wrinkles and although my skin is problematic (thanks PCOS), the oiliness means it looks quite smooth!
See that - a bonus of acne! This worm has turned....!0 -

Oh dear what happened to your self control?? eat dust for a week to redeem yourself!
"For the record.......All of you who say you are happy being size 20...good for you....you have managed to convinced your self that you are healthy at that size...." in response to this I have not convinced myself of anything, the facts are yes I am an 18/20 am I unhealthy?no I eat regular meals full of veg and fruit, I excercise regularly yes, blood pressure is normal and so is cholestrol etc.
For a female I am built like a brick sh*thouse with the shoulders of a russian shotputter and will never be a size zero or a 10 for that matter I think I would look pretty ill. The boyfriend loves me as i am, big butt and all lol! Despite popular belief us larger folks dont survive on big macs and mars bars and nor are we a walking heart attack either!!
I have done every bloody diet known to man and hated them all with a passion (am no very anti diets or self control plans!) been slim and I am now bigger, so what, am I any less happy, hell no! do I worry about calories or fat grams, points, syns etc hell no have wasted far too many years stressing and worrying about that rubbish and then beating myself up over a crumb of cake! life is far too short if I want a bloody big mac I will have one, with fries and full fat coke to go with it, do I beat myself up after it, hell no!
I have wasted far too much precious time in life worrying about what other people thought of me, if i was slim enough etc blah blah blah I now embrace my curves and dont give a toss what others think, I am happy and new and improved me I hope one day you find the true happiness you seem to be lacking0 -

New_and_Improved_Me wrote: »What a load of CRAP……that people are happy being FAT…..
Take it from someone who has been slim FAT slim FAT Slim SLIM SLIM…… J
The secret to dieting is SELF-CONTROL, if you have none……..YOU WILL FAIL….. simple fact…
I see SO many girls, on CONSTANT diets…..this diet…that diet….it’s become an industry full of crap…..SO many celebrates and athletes have their own diets….it’s all MONEY MAKING….and nothing more….
The word ‘DIET’ should be renamed ‘SELF-CONTROL’…because until you learn self-control you will not lose weight…..and keep it off….
Diets are temporary...….you CAN NOT live your life if you’re constantly on a diet……you NEED self-control and the weight will drop off…..
I’m going be harsh now…..
NO-ONE is born FAT….FATNESS is a direct cause of what you stuff down your through……
I hear so many excuses from Overweight people as to why they are fat……especially men…..!!!!!! guys…WHY…..you don’t give birth…..women gain weight during pregnancy it’s a FACT of life.....but what excuse do you MEN have….apart from stuffing your faces…..drinking your-self into a stooper…..and yes alcohol has ALLOT to do with weight gain…..
And let’s talk about women for a moment….I constantly hear…O I’m doing this diet….i’m doing that diet…..and not losing any weight…..
Women….WEIGHT LOSS is NOT an overnight phenomenon..…you have to be committed to it……you NEED to have self-control to say NO to food…..and to exercise with your diets…..the weight WILL GO…..
You didn’t become size 18/20 overnight…and you’re NOT going to become a size 10/12 overnight……it’s a long and HARD road……and so SO many fail…because they want results instantly and without any pain….it NOT going to happen….NO PAIN, NO GAIN……
The MAJORITY of people who say they are happy being a size 18/20 are just lying to themselves…….
The FACT is……..they have no self-control to do what NEEDS to me done and therefore put a façade on for themselves and other people that they are “HAPPY’’ just being FAT….
I know I’m going get slated for this post…..but it’s all carp that FAT people are HAPPY being FAT..….80/90% of people are NOT happy being FAT…..Simple truth…..but there is always an exception to the rule....:)
If I could offer u a miracle pill that would make you go from a size 20 to a size 10…..I can GUARANTEE you that you would ALL be lining up to get it…..
Again, have you read any of the posters previous posts where she has said she has health issues where its tough for her to exercise????? Have you???? Or are you just spouting the same old guff on this thread as you have on others?
What the hell are you talking about, shes accepted herself the way she is, theres nothing wrong with that
And on your magic pill theory, sorry, wrong. Im happy at a size 14 and I do 4 fitness classes a week and work out in the gym 4 times a week, not everyone wants to be a size 10.0 -

I think most of us will have you on ignore by the time you get back, I wouldn't bother rushing.0 -
Oh and if mr know it all knew anything about fitness what so ever, then theyd know that its possible to look very fit from the outside and not be fit at all.
Slim doesn't = fit in every case, heavier doesn't always mean unfit
Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but a size 10 woman who stuffs herself with junk food and smokes 20 a day will be less fit than a size 14 woman who eats healthily and doesn't smoke.
And genetics play a part in the body shape people have as well and some people put on weight easily, others don't, that doesn't mean that people who can eat a poor diet and still don't put weight on are fit.
You sound like someone who is terrified of getting fat and is projecting all your insecurities onto other people, either that or you are just trolling.
But do yourself a favour, stop trying to derail a thread by someone who has been by their own admission struggling lately and was just beginning to feel better about herself.0 -

I understand what you are saying, but its just the way you are built some women have boobs others don't - you could have been a size 14 and still be flat chested and likewise be a size 8 and have more than a handful !!
Obesity costs our country ££££££££££ and its because of people not taking responsibility for their own health and "embracing their curves" that todays kids are the first generation who are expected to have a lower life expectancy than their parents !!!
Diets don't work - but healthy eating and burning more calories than you consume does -its not rocket science !!
Being slim doesn't make a person more attractive but then again neither does someone who has such little self regard for their own long term health that they think being obese is ok. It is a disease. Possibly one the obese person caused... yes.. but it still has a negative impact on health. It is not a good thing or ok.0 -
The OP has health issues, shes posted about this before, it makes it very hard for her to exercise.
If people were able to healthy eat and burn more cals than they consume with no problems, there would be no diet industry making millions from people.
I broke my tailbone a year ago, I went from being very active to being in great pain and I put weight on. Injury or illness can happen to anyone.
Oh and even at my heaviest, Ive never had to go to my GP for any ill health related to me carrying more weight, yes, you'll get people who are morbidly obese that need support due to health related illnesses, but theres lots of people who aren't slim who are fit and healthy.0
