I was waiting for the 'not healthy' card to be played. I am not unhealthy (apart from my Fibro which is not a weight thing). I have had numerous tests, all of which are in the normal range.

Some of the stuff I have read (although I take everything with an open mind), has suggested that it is also fallacy that being slimmer will make you more healthy. Now I don't know the credibility of such research but one of the books (Health at Every Size) explains it well.

What I do know is that whilst I was on a quest to lose weight because I thought i 'had' to, I was utterly miserable. Oh and ironically, before I started dieting, I was a 'healthy' size 12 for the majority of my life. Also while I dieted, I binged A LOT. Since stopping dieting, I have not once done so.

You haven't riled me either. I actually feel sorry for you if all you are saying is true and not trolling. I am so glad I am a size 18 'me' and NOT a size 8 (or whatever l) 'you'.

No, love, i am too long in the tooth to get riled online, and, to be honest, if I was size 8 now, I still wouldn't be healthy. ;)

I'm not even PC, but nor do I feel so insecure that I feel better about myself trying to insult others!

I have more self esteem than that, thankfully.:T

You really might be best sorting out your own issues.

    Lin;)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

  • I'll reiterate, the main reason people feel unhappy when they're big is because a lot of people feel like I did; ashamed, embarrassed, not good enough - all brought on by society's ideals. I never took into account that my kids think I am the best mum ever, my younger sisters look up to me for advice, my friends love me and enjoy spending time with me. And finally, my husband loves me and finds me attractive. THOSE are the things that matter.

This ^^^^^. You have so got the answer there Anoneemoose. I think you also have it sussed with your attitude on dieting. :T
    Back on the trains again!

  • Loosing weight is not easy........that is the fact....

As I said right at the beginning.....dieting is about self control...

you've just admitted that before you started your quest to loose weight you were a size 12 and when you started dieting you started binging on food.....and became 18......

to make diets work.......you have to be committed.......and you have to have self control.......slate me all you want....that is the truth......

If loosing weight was easy.....then UK would not be facing the current crises of obesity.....

I was being half serious and half just a troll with some of my posts.....to get a response.....

    Be honest......given the choice....would you be a size 10 or 20....

    That's not a dig at anyone...simply a question.....to the folks on here.....

Given the choice, I would be a size 14 actually. I was at my happiest at this weight.

The point I was trying to make is that it is 'diets' that made me binge. And which ever way you want to dress it up, your 'self control' idea is just another way of saying diet really.

I have much more self control now. So much so I have just made my friend a birthday cake (cos I'm a nice person - see where I am going?)...and do you know what, I licked the bowl like I used to when I was a kid. And for the first time in about 20 years, I DECIDED to do that and completely enjoyed it without guilt or fear or counting how many points/syns or calories.

Will that stop my kids giving me hugs when they come in (well only because they might have wanted it themselves)?? Of course it won't. It also doesn't change the fact that my hubby sent me a **TMI ALERT** sexy text earlier...he's not going to retract his sentiments and wishes because I ate cake!

And for the record, I would prefer to be a size 14 because alas, plus size clothing is still so blooming expensive. I am not saying I wouldn't want to be a 14 again - the point I am making is that I won't be bothered if it doesn't happen.

LOSING. Sorry, but it's LOSING. And someone please rescue their full stop key and find it a nice new home, it's being sadly abused where it is now.
