Happy Birthday
I hope that one birthday soonish, you will wake up feeling totally different, look back and feel at peace with yourself knowing that you got out of the difficult times you are currently facing.
You shouldn't be alone on your special birthday, but even strangers can feel true emotions for people they don't know and I'm sure all of us who have posted wish we could have been there with you to make your day a bit more special.0 -
Didn't want to read and run, your post touched me and I just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday! If you ever need to rant or have a cry or just want a chat don't hesitate to come on here, there'll always be someone to have a crack (as us Cumbrians say!) with!0

Happy Birthday!
I agree with those who said wallow away, there is nothing at all wrong with feeling sorry for yourself and acknowledging your pain. You have been through a lot so no wonder you feel low.
If having children is something you really want to do then try to find a route to making that a reality. There are a few options you could consider, not least getting back out there and finding someone to share your life with. It will never change what you have lost but many people who have sadly lost the person they considered to be their life partner do go on to find happiness again. It can happen for you but you have to be a bit brave to make that first step.
If that really isn't what you want then you could, as has been mentioned, consider fostering. Heck you can even consider a sperm donor.
I'm not one for clich!s but I do try to remind myself that it is indeed often darkest before the dawn. There have been a number of miserable times in my life when I truly believed that I could never be happy or laugh again. But, I did and although my life is different to what I imagined it might be, I am happy.
Once again a big old happy birthday from me, and welcome to the 40 something club

Thank you everyone, I still feel terribly sad, I have had a good read through all your posts and taken on board what's been said.
There are some things and good advice that I will look at in the future.
Thanks everyone, I will be glad when today is over..0 -
Happy birthday GeeBee!!!
My friend has recently welcomed a wonderful 2 year old adoptive daughter into her life. She is single and in her early 40s, so I know for certain that it can be done. She also experienced trauma and went through counselling as part of her journey towards adoption. I just wanted to encourage you not to exclude yourself if that is a path you are interested in going down.
(((((Hugs))))) tomorrow will be a brighter day. I am so sorry that you lost your partner. That is so hard. Thinking of you x:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
