You've totally lost me now. Did you contact them to say that you will accept their offer plus the surgery fee of £400 odd or whatever it was?
I think you are confusing the two insurance companies. The surgery practice insurers were the once who have offered to pay all my expenses due to my dog’s death plus the price of my dog plus £200 for my shock and distress. They did not offer to pay back for the surgery that killed my dog. Also offer of £200 for what I have gone through was a bit of an insult, it is like my dog did not matter to me. So I did not accept their offer and wrote to them saying that the surgery that killed my dog was most important to me and if they cannot pay/refund that I will refer this to my insurer’s legal team ( I have legal fees included in my house insurance). That I have done and they have agreed to take my case. The practice surgery insurers had a chance to offer to pay back for the dogged surgery but they did not offer that after receiving my letter so it goes on. My insurer's solicitor is suppose to contact me tomorrow0 -

But you said you would be happy under the circumstances with the expenses, £200 and the fees for the surgery and said you were going to contact them saying that you would take that in full and final settlement?
No I have never said that I would take their offer as it never included the surgery fee. Sorry don't know where you get that from.0 -
I have been following this from the start and I think you have lost sight (and your grip a little) of what you said you set out to get...
You won’t get them to say sorry, which is what you are on this crusade for. You then reject their offer... it really does look like you are only after the money now. Can you see that?
If they were to say sorry (they won’t) but they did give you the money back... then what? Will you continue this crusade?
I think you are focussing your energies in entirely the wrong direction and it is becoming quite destructive. Maybe give up now?0 -

I do not want my negligent vet to keep money for surgery that was unauthorised and killed my dog.
But the vet will keep the money for the surgery either way - it will be the insurers who will pay any money. The only possible ramification for the vet will be an increase in their insurance premiums.0 -

So be it. At least maybe next time they will take more care when dealing with lives of people's so much loved members of family.0 -

Hachette..
I admire your insistence on this but the end result , win or lose will never bring your pet back.
My Dad was admitted to casuality with a severe stroke in 2010 and it took 4 hours for him to be seen by a Dr. By the next day he was in intensive care fighting for his life but when I left him he was talking clearly and talking about coming home
The result of the stroke was 3 years in a Nursing home with 24/7 care. and not the Dad I left in Casualty that day
I have looked at getting the NHS records for him including admission on that day but TBH. he died in Jan 2013 and no matter what the outcome if I started questioning his treatment , he is still dead and nothing will bring him back.
I truly think you have to move on from this. It seems to have become an obsession that at the end of the day still results in the loss of your dearly loved pet.
I know it is hard but your whole life must not revolve about something that happened in the past.. start living in the now and start planning for the future..

My heart goes out to you. So sorry for your loss. It is so hard to deal with negligence but if you put your mind to it and believe that it has happened then you should go for it. Our dearest friend also suffered the same just a week before last Christmas. We are still devastated he may or not recover. (Mind you he was looked after very well) At present he can’t even talk and we miss him coming over every week for the game of snooker. 7 years ago when my mum died of cancer ( Maxine was her dog) I was devastated but after watching her illness for two years when she has passed away I was happy that she was not suffering anymore and I moved on from that. The future for me now is to make changes in this country for us pet owners. Maxie went to the vet happy little dog came back critically ill dog and died as a result of their treatment.
You may have been able to move on with your dear dad’s death as I have with my mum’s, they have been very poorly; Maxie was a happy little dog not human but still very important and loved.
If we don’t deal and question mistakes of professionals we have no future.0
