Hachette..
I think I understand where you are coming from on this. You do not want any other pet owner to go through what you had to endure?
Hope I have this right..
But sometimes what you do is stop trying alone to get things changed and join a group who have also been in this situation and by the volume of complaints get things changed..
Please don't make this the main objective of your life .. you will miss out on so many other things while fighting this single handed

Yes you have got this right thank you. As to joining a larger group yes this is also right thing to do but at this stage I had to make sure that I have total proof of the negligence in my hand before going any further and use my Maxie’s case as an example, this proof I only got on 20/11/13. What I hope to achieve at this stage by writing to DEFRA is to make them aware that I do know about the almost 6000 signature petition that was handed to Buckingham Palace 10 years ago and the fact that they have started to act in 2008 to solve this issue and then walked away. As I said before the people who did this petition 10 years ago were in their late sixties and seventies so ten years on you can imagine it is not going to be easy for any of them to pursue if indeed they are still well enough or alive . I will wait and see what kind of response I get from DEFRA and RCVS and then think what the best course of action is. Media is always the way forward but I have to have their responses first.0 -
As I said there was no response. None.
Thats not how I understood you. There was no response to me rejecting their offer and stating why.
By saying the above it sounds like you sent them a letter/message after rejecting it and you STATED why, so that sounded like your original response.
When you sent them a message stating that you would accept their offer if it included the surgery costs, what did the letter actually say? Can you post it?0 -

Thank you for your letter dated 15/1/14 with your offer of £2162.78 in regard to my claim.
In reply I would like to say that I was very disappointed at your decision that the money paid for the surgery that killed my dog will not be paid back. This to be honest was the most important part of my claim as having paid this I feel I have paid for the death of my dog. You said that this cost I would have ordinarily incurred however this surgery would not have taken place if the vet had read the blood test result correctly therefore due to their error this cost was incurred. Furthermore as far as I am concern the surgery was carried out without my consent as the consent given was on the basis of the pre-op bloods results showing that my dog was fit for the surgery this however was not the case. If I have been informed of the results I would have never given the vet go ahead.
Secondly your offer of £200 in respect of the shock and distress I have suffered I find a bit insulting. I have not made a claim for the sentimental value of my dog but for the shock suffering and stress that I had to go through not just when my dog died but also for the past year dealing with this matter and suffering further shocks as the truth how and why my dog died in such terrible way started emerging and was finally confirmed by the forensic vet on 20/11/13. I have been pursuing this matter to the point of obsession and even after all this time find it difficult to come to terms with what had happened and why.
In the circumstances I will be passing all the documentation to my insurer’s legal team and I shall get back to you regarding your offer after I have heard from them.0 -
This is exactly what I thought, not being funny but it is like pulling teeth trying to get information out, you have been saying you responded to them after my posts earlier in this thread but you havent gone back to them as advised, it's like you are disregarding advice.
Please read post #375 and the following posts again on page 19.0 -

I did not see any reason for crawling back to them. They knew what part of their offer I was most unhappy with0
