I have e-mailed today the insurance brokers and gave them until this Friday. The response was quick saying they have passed on the message.
I think I gave them enough time and I cannot have this hanging over me any more. One way or the other will be be known in 3 days.
It is only six days ago that you asked on here how much time you should give them.
You were advised:somethingcorporate wrote: »If you're now imposing a deadline (and haven't before) it still needs to be reasonable. I suggest that 28 days from you providing a requirement of a deadline is reasonable regardless that they have already sat on it for over a month.
Unfortunately, if you haven't already made a time-based demand it does put you in a weaker position. Get a deadline in now with consequences and then if they do not meet your deadline then take court action. 3 days from now is not reasonable, 2 weeks as an absolute minimum is and 4 is even better.Yes maybe you are right I have waited that long so give them little more time but I cannot focus on anything more positive until I bring this to the end never will until they will admit to the wrong doing0 -
What?

You responded to that advice by agreeing:
Did you actually give them a deadline on 8 January, or is the email you sent today the first hint they have had of any deadline?
They had the forensic vet report on 28/11/13 I gave them all the bills they have asked for. My deadline is 21/1/13. If I don't give deadline this is going to go on for ever.0 -
Only thing I know about grieving is there is no right or wrong way to grieve.
I'd disagree with that. Part of grieving is letting old emotions die down & clear up. There is without a shadow of a doubt people who don't do this in other words become obsessed with blame are just prolonging any grieving. I know of a similar situation to this but with someone who is emotionally strong and part of that strength comes with being able to find a place in the heart to forgive.0 -

No I have not given them deadline before but now I felt I had to otherwise this will never end
So you get advice that 14 to 28 days is a reasonable deadline, but get the deadline in straight away.
You agree with that.
You then wait six days.
You then give a three day deadline.
Quite frankly, I am surprised people are still willing to give you advice.0 -

I never thought deadline was a must. They must realise they took more time to deal with this then any other insurers would.0 -

And who are you to say how long , or "prolonged " , as you put it , grieving should be?
Prolonged suggests something that's taking longer than it should do.0 -
They sat for 2 months on my claim and if you consider the fact that they had it since September and thought it will go away. I feel I have given them more then enought time.0
