One week ago I found that one of my friend dog a 3 year old Doberman had to be put down. Well last time I saw him he was bouncing and happy but had a limp on his back leg (one of my dogs has that but no way I am putting him through surgery ) her dog had surgery on his knee, then he got infection was put on antibiotics but still in pain after that. Then they did 3 more surgeries (within 5 weeks) still not good last time she took him back to vets they put him to sleep. 3 year old healthy dog with a limp is now dead. He was everthing to her. What had happened I also intend to find out. She used all her insurance money plus it cost her £5000 on top of that. Last £1000 apparently vets did not cash strange.0

You have been given so much good advice and you have ignored or refused to take it on board unless it suited you. Get help.
I have taken it on board but at the end of the day it is my call. The advice I got was good people were concern for the financial and emotional reasons but I can deal with both. It is the truth that matters. squeek squeek..0 -
Do you not think one crusade at a time is enough to be going on with?
Yes , but what had happened to her is even worse. The whole thing now is about how lilltle we can do when vets just make money of loving pet owners. I do not think it was in my case but with my friend my goodness 5000 plus insurance must have been at leat 6000 and dog was put to sleep. So £11000 later she has lost her dog because he had a limp. This is not right.0 -
In my experience vets do not put dogs to sleep unless it's an emergency without signed consent from the owner. I certainly had to give permission for my last very poorly dog to be pts. And £5000 isn't a huge amount when it comes to vets bills. I racked up a grand in a day just for tests without any treatment. Just because you feel your vet did a bad job doesn't mean they all do. Whatever the outcome. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Yes I agree but he was 3 year old healthy dog they said there was one in million chance things could go wrong never said it would involved puting him to sleep just leg not being right and then they put him to sleep and said he was the one in the million.0 -
OK I should forget what happened to my friends dog for now. She is so upset I do not know details yet apart from what I have posted. When she is ready to talk about it then I will see what can be done. No more trust in vets, that is the problem so many are good but the bad once are giving the whole profession bad name.0

Please don't take this the wrong way hachette, I know it is upsetting to lose a pet. Maxie died a year ago, but you are still insisting on going on what appears to be a crusade that is unlikely to bring you the results that you want.
As a health care professional I am extremely concerned about your well being.
Your multiple posts in the early hours of the morning (and often on unrelated accusations) worry me - are you having trouble sleeping? Have you discussed your feelings with your close family?
I would urge you to make an appointment to see your doctor to discuss the way you feel and the impact that it is having on your life.0 -
