A chilled out day has been had.
Dd, little friend and I toddled up to the PO (gifts to dsc= £20.25!), ch shop (both girls found a soft toy for £1 and I found a new bird feeder maker for 50p), local coffee shop and aldee where I only had a pull-along basket and let the girls wander off. Just under £23 spent and it all fitted in yhe rucksack and cloth bag, so we toddled back home too.
Little friend came round after lunch for play doh play, and, unusually for us, we had several visitors. I made lemon curd tarts, which are disappearing fast - definitely a keeper.
Dh has stated that he does NOT want my pea soup for tea. Bah humbug to him!! So it's his super hot chili instead. Will add a tin of beans to cool it down though.
It is refreshing to have no crafting to do. Am hoping I'll be mega inspired and mad-keen in Jan.
Have set myself up a slim-down challenge for jan/feb. Just need to keep to it now....NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Snuck in a mini workout this morning - go me! :j
Then watched a Muppet Christmas Carol with dd whilst having breakfast, she played with her bears and now I've made some buns and there's a My Little Pony film on telly so dd is happy! She is planning on having a pyjama day, so it should be another NSD. Dh is at work but reckons he'll be home mid-afternoon :T.
Bizarrely, I have NOTHING I need to do! May go dig out a knitted bauble pattern...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

March 27 is a date to keep in mind - 86 days into 2015. Hmmm. Ponderations.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Did you see Santa?
Merry Christmas to you all

Yes we did MWC :j!
We went up a local hill, and the moon alone was beautiful and so bright. We are under the approach path for a little airport (for the executive style of plane!) but the flashing red, green and white lights didn't fool us...!
We are all very happy and chuffed!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Tee hee. Dd just requested jelly cubes for her pud, so I cut off a couple. It was hard work cutting them, so I checked the BB date: dec 2012. Same with the other 2 flavours we have. At least we are in the right month!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Merry Christmas, one and all!
Dd got to sleep well last night, then was woken by a tummy ache, then was unable to settle. So we all piled in together and she worried about not getting to sleep because Santa wouldn't be able to come. She eventually dropped off and I was able to do her stocking in the early hours. Phew!
And this morning has been so lovely. She is so excited and grateful for each and every present. And we've has Father Christmas, The Gruffalo and now Michael Morpugo's On Angel Wings on the telly.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Just recalling a conversation with dh the other day.
Me - I haven't thought much about veg for Christmas day but I reckon we have enough.
Dh - we've hardly got any veg.
Me, opening the cupboard and fridge - we have potatoes, sweet potatoes, swede, carrot, brocolli, onion, ramiro pepper, mushroom, avocado, tomato.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dinner all done and dusted - and we DID have enough veg! Lamb with garlic, onion, ramiro pepper and mushroom, roast pots and carrot, broc. Gravy was just the juices from the lamb. Pud= hm sultana cakes and double cream, then a 3rd real coffee and chocs. Yummy!
Presents are all opened and my stash of wrapping paper for next year is full again. Dd won the 'who got the most presents' prize. Again. Gets it every year! Very few of her presents from us were brand new, but it was a good balance and an eclectic mix, she loves it all.
Now I can start on next year!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
One of dd's presents was a Barbie as Rapunzel dvd. We put it on this morning and she watched the 'fun extras' bit. In the film, Rapunzel does a lot of painting and one of the extras is a good length piece about painting. Dd states that she has been inspired, has got her water colours out, and is off!
I reckon I reached terminal density point yesterday . So I have done a Zuzka 5 min workout this morning followed by 10 pressups on my knees with dd sitting on my back and 20 crab kick ups with dd lying underneath me to stop me getting too low. After a super healthy primal breakfast I'm now on the chocolate again. Oops!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
