beanielou said:Do you ever stop!!!I can't yet!!!The builder people arrived at 8 and are currently demolishing the kitchen. The skip is due soon. It's fascinating to see what the original state of the kitchen was - don't think the kitchen's ever been changed...Pip is about to head out for the day - he's coping remarkably well with the disruption. Now to go and check all 137 items on the list.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

I'm now in a dust free environment. Yay! I had to go to Mancunia to find it, but here I am in the splendour of Holliday Innn. I have used the gym, had a lovely shower and chatted with pip about his day and dh about downlighters and dimmers.I had a 45 minute snooze on the train up here so there's no rush to go to bed yet. I think I'll snuggle down and read.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

The train home was 30 mins late, so I must delay repay that.Pip had a wonderful time at the Ball. I got home in time to see him before he went, and picked him up at the end.The behind-the-scenes work in the kitchen seems nearly done.New water pipes and waste pipes from sink and new dishwasher.Gas pipes moved.Radiator pipes moved.Half of soil stack replaced.Laminate flooring removed.Ceiling plastered. Some concrete laid to even up floor.Gas cooker reconnected so we can cook properly over the weekend. And best of all, a weekend without builders. ♥️NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Ah the joy of a weekend without buildersMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
It is bliss to have peace and quiet and a 'normal' weekend. I slept until gone 8.30 this morning, which is rare!

More progress made in the back half of downstairs. Electrical cables all in. More plasterboard up. More plastering done.It is hot. Really sweaty hot. And I can't enjoy the garden. Boo. But I will have a fabulous kitchen soonish 😎.May I just say that I lurve the community round here. We've a skip in one of the parking bays. It's been there a week now, only being covered at night with a couple of dust sheets. And nobody else has put anything in it! What utter darlings ♥️Tomorrow I need to get out for myself. Today I taxied Pip and collected a prescription and took out cash and shopped at sainz. And marked. And talked to surprisingly few of my team...So tomorrow I would love to go to the gym and to liddle. Rock 'n' Roll.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

We have much happier builders today. They've spent much of the week having to fix/amend/adapt pesky things so that the fit and look is good. We have tricky pipes, shapes, measurements... And they've done a jolly good job but it's taken a lot of brain power and jiggery pokery.Today they've cut, fitted, glued the worktop - 400mm of solid oak - soooo lovely! And by the end of play today, we might have the sink and hob holes cut out. It might even be finished by middle of next week - exciting! My marking is plodding on and I'm getting through it without too many hiccups. I've nearly finished my quota of the hardest ones to mark - go me!I have a fair on Sunday and ideally need to finish off several items so they can go on show! The item might only need 4 pieces of fabric, but when the eyes are 3 more each, you can guess which part I leave to the end...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the fair. Lots of lovely compliments about my items, and about £200 of sales, which is the most ever! Now I can make more!!!!!Pip is dancing as I type, and a friend took him to the show - and is bringing him home too. I love that sort of friend. We didn't end the week with the sink + hob holes cut, but have still thoroughly enjoyed a quite weekend.I envisage completing my marking within the next few days, which would be a record for me.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3
