What a day!
Twas the much-looked-forward-to trip to Legoland! We all ovrrslept to start with, but were in the car just 30mins late. Said car, up to then behaving normally, suddenly discharged all leccy and refused to do anything. Mild panic occurred! The car wss parked in one of the bays near the house and I was able to push it for dh to bump start it. Thank goodness it wasm't in its ususal place in front of the garage, where there is a speed bump! So, we set off and managed to get thrre, dh parking it in such a way that another bump start would be do-able. Wise move.'this time dh had to push as it was on the flat!
Legoland was ok, but tired and rusty! Msybe it wss the stress of the morning, maube we are becoming old and grumpy, but even dd said - omce home - that the excitement of the thought of going was brtter than being there! She's only 6!
So, home we trundled and dd went to bed as normal, to discover that the neighbours are scraping the paimt/ wallpaper off the party wall. Needless to say, dd cannot sleep, so we are back to her getting to sleep in our bed. (rolling eyes smilie!)
Spends? £12.15, I think. Legoland want £4 parking fee too! Cheeky penny-punching blighters! We are so glad we just used our tescimo vouchers to get the tickets! And I daren-t even think about the car expenses to come...
However, the thought of not having a car doesn't scare me! MMM would be smug!!
Tomorrow, dd has her usual tap + ballet classes, then mock exams for the exams in 3 weeks time. So we shall have to get there on the bus + 2 trams (cannot make dd walk a lot again as she did so much today!), and fill the 2 hours between her 2 mock exams. Lunch and the local 4 ch shops should suffice. And the park, if needed. At least the forecast is dry.
Dd asked me what craft item I was going to make for her class for Cmas this year. In reception, I made hanging Cmas trees. Last year I did reindeer food. This year, my sis suggested using what I don't sell at the fair :rotfl:! I may well do that!!
Off to browse mse. Sorry for the outpouring about the day!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Note to self:
One thing that I reckon made today's stress and shenanigans manageable was my food intake.
Bfast was 2.5 scr eggs with 100g cott ch, a gd 3g cinnamon and 10 g ground almonds. Plus my initial black coffee!
Lunch was hm coleslaw (but bought mayo, tho the paleo one I make is also yummy, just didn't have any made) with 2 hb eggs, then an apple.
(I did sneak some of dd's snacks, so some intake of grains and sugar)
And tea was yesterday's sausage stew (5 veg) and sweet potato hash brownies, with aldee chips and my own special cottage cheese pud concoction.
So, plenty of protein, 10 veggies. And I feel so much less bloated than recently. Phew! And I had sufficient energy for the day.
Will need packed lunches for dd and me tomorrow, so a reduced version of what I took today. She is now asleep, so I shall go and prepare that - in case we oversleep!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Credit goes to dd today.
1 bus + 2 trams took us to dance class, where I was greeted with, "Didn't you get the email?" said in surprise. Um, no. I don't get email on my phone, and didn't bother checking it at all yesterday. So, arrangements for today had been changed last minute, classes were all cancelled and we could have had an extra 90mins at home before setting out for the mock dance exams. So dd and I did the ch shops earlier than planned, then still had about 1 hr before the first exam, then another 2 hrs to the next.
Suffice to say, I was simply glad to get home!
And while dd then played out front, I cut out 2 full bunnies and 2 part bunnies. So feel a little more on top of that.
And got a pinks wash done - dh tried to sneak his black socks in, but I spotted them! Not much gets past me... Apart from the peanut butter I've just found on my jumper...!
Dh is cooking tonight - yay! He discovered some g-f meatballs in sains, so is doing them with hm chips. Yum. (hope I'm not jumping the gun there...)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Tea was yummy and we have had the leftovers for lunch, with a bit of veg and rice.
The extra hour in bed was very nice indeed! Dd had a good lie-in, and I got a darks wash done - including dh's pesky socks. And off to ch - 2 buses and a 15 min walk. We all got a lift home from some lovely friends.
While dd was at Kids Klub, I popped into town (I know, skipping church, eh? Dodged the thunderbolts!) because it was pretty urgent that I go to spocksavers. And I was mightily impressed with the treatment I received. In short, they are going to replace BOTH lenses for me. Woohoo! And I was right in that my right eye's distance prescription was wrong.
And I spent no money!
Now home, tummies full, dd is playing out the front once more. So I shall do some more bunny cutting out. Dd has added the brothers of 2 friends to the list, so the original 17 has gone up to 22 now, of which 13 have been made.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Excellent charity shopping hauls as ever, A*M!
Sweet potato hash browns sound delicious, may nick that idea sometime.
I've adapted one of the scarf patterns to make matching scarf / fingerless gloves for SILs for Crimble, so will copy out the pattern then pop book in post for you later in the week, so you can see if there's anything you like the look of for a new challenge!
Shame about DD being kept awake, hope the decorating is finished quickly.
I've just discovered HUTH ... I would love to be let loose at an auction!
Happy half term by the way! Hope you enjoy something of a rest. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Thank you Hbbb!
I'm currently cutting up a gorgeous babygro to make 1 full bunny and 1 parts. I love the challenge of getting as many parts from it as I can! Once I stop cutting and getting stitching, I have enough bits to complete 6 bunnies! Dd, who has banned me from buying more fabric until I have used my stash up (not into 3 figures, may I just mention, as an aside...), offered me a lovely dress she wears that has become too tight across the back. So long as I make some tiaras from it too! We do have to giggle at the projects she has requested as she knows I'm not exactly getting through them...
The neighbours don't seem to have done any more scraping, so maybe that is all finished now. Phew.
Half term last week and this. Last week was recovering from travelling and uncle. Plus it was actually rather busy! So, having done spocksavers today, I do not have to venture into that town until I pick them up. I feel like I can start to chill out now!
I have Christmas music playing on utube - I LOVE the carols!!! Hearing them above the noise of the constant fan isn't for those with hearing issues!!! Maybe, just maybe, dh was right to buy me a new laptop.... Shhh, please don't tell him!
Thank you in advance for the book. I'm still not convinced about hats, as I'm not sure they would sell. Whereas I'm maybe overconfident about the bunnies...! Oh how fickle I am :rotfl:.
Right, 2 more arm pieces to squeeze out of a tiny smidgen of fabric...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Today's plan was to stay in, waiting for the De11 delivery of my pc. It has already come! So, the big question is whether I can maintain my planned NSD...
Food budget is blown to smithereens, with another aldee shop still to happen this week; but at least I still have money in the bank!
We are currently all in our pjs still, breakfasted, with a second coffee brewing. Dd wishes to stay home 'to work on some projects', no doubt involving me and dh!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Plenty of sewing done; still in jamas; made a yummy sweet potato soup for lunch - 6 veg! Minimal steps done so far - have usually done more before breakfast!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Pay day!!!
But off to Londinium first... Money shuffles usually wait until the very end of the month, otherwise all the excitement is over with too soon!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Londinium is done and dusted - it was crowded indeed!
Saved money using the railcard to buy travelcards, instead of our Oysters. Took lunches, so food spends were minimal.
The poppies are amazing, but the whole area was so jam packed with bodies - and we only went over the bridge and round the road. It was rotten for dd who said she felt 'trapped'. Being a littl'un among a throng is miserable, so I carried her for much of it! Pret has never been more welcome!
The monument to the Great Fire is rather disappointing, but can be ticked off the 'to-do' list, along with photos to show dd's teacher.
However, the weather was glorious and warm and strolling through St James' Park was lovely. Dd enjoyed feeding the ducks and playing in the sandpit too!
Our last trip to Lo don was when dd fell off a wall near home and broke her collarbone. I'm happy to report that nowt like that happened today! We were home by 3.30, so have had a nice time pottering at home too.
I've completed 4 more bunnies :T, although I think some of them are'extras', so I'm still several away from completion. Tomorrow can be another cutting out day. Plus a food shop with both dh and dd. I can see us easily hitting the £40 target to use the aldee voucher!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
