Thank you MWC. Much appreciated.
I had a lovely email reply from my Head and she has granted my absence request. So we have already booked my train ticket, which dh will pick up today.
Well, a full day ahead, with an extra duty thrown in for good measure! Did a swapsie to help a friend. But I have a nice day planned, so am hoping it goes smoothly. Unsurprisingly, I didn't sleep that well last night, and was also late to bed after sorting everything out.
Anyhow, best shake a tail feather and climb out of bed. Dd won't wake up volu tarily, nor will breakfast make itself...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Gosh I am weary again.
The day went well yesterday, but I was back at work for 6.30 - 9pm ish for a sixth form info eve. I then didn't sleep well - lots of dreams waking me up, then dd woke up at 1am so I brought her in with us. It was a struggle to get up and get dd to her cheerleading for 8am!
However, dh went to work on the train, so I had the car to do the food shop, which was a luxury. Then a walk down to the PO to post a parcel for my niece's 18th, which was a must-do for today.
And the rest of the to do list has been shifted to 'optional' as I have a case of the too-weary-to-be-bothered attitude!
Washing will get hung up...eventually.
Washing up will be done.
And, of course, packing for travelling and the funeral must be done, as well as packing food for the journeys.
But time to relax first. I'm simply anxious about everything at the mo, so need to be careful.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
So sorry to hear your news, but as you say, he's at rest now, and suffering no more.
Glad you got the time off work, so at least you know you and your mum will be able get there.
Best wishes to all of you.Early retired - 18th December 2014

£297.64.
That is how much extra I have thus far TTed. That is now 99% of my increased target of £300.
So I shall simply have to put it up to £400 now!
Satisfying.
I have also decided to sell the only shares I possess, put half into an ISA or whatever they now are, and the rest off the mortgage. Decision made.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thank you, Goldie. I'm so glad I can go and the travel plans seem to have got sorted out. I plan to get a direct train from London to Truro so that I can just sit there - assuming I can get a seat...

Hi AM, sorry to read your news. After being ill for so long, what a blessed relief to have a peaceful passing. It does bring some consolation.
Good news about the leave of absence and I hope everything goes smoothly.

Absolutely, Tilly! He was at home with my auntie until 2 days before he died. Having been anticipating passing away for so long, he'd been able to sort everything out. And I know he had no regrets at the end. He was a canon (one or two level up from a rev/vicar?) and had a wide sphere of influence, so the service/celebration will be packed. But that is a few weeks away. The funeral is close family only, which I'm grateful for.
thank you xxNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Lots of hours travelling and lots of emotions spent. But all worth it and no regrets. Mum definitely needed me there, and auntie + cousins were so appreciative of everybody's efforts to get there.
Dd and dh had a good time without me. Dd has acquired 3 new toys, courtesy of her generous daddy! She hardly left my side once I was home, chatting away while I had a shower, following me around. Safe to say, she missed me! (so did dh, but he hides it better!)
And the washing machine has moved into the phase of: 'the lights are on, but nobody's home'. We think it has finally decided to cease functioning. Dh has already researched a new one, but is going to get a code thingy off the machine to see if it can be fixed first. If we have to buy a new one, I'll try going though £co. And I'll stop the TTs until I know what we are doing.
I am on kids klub tomorrow, so really need to get a good night's sleep tonight. We'll also need gf bread from sains, but I shall use points (before pesky sains halve their value) and thus claim another NSD, I hope.
Whilst travelling, I had 2 NSDs - a rucksack full of food, plenty of water, and a good amount of caffeine in my system before setting off helped! And Friday was only £2.50 in ch shops, as I needed to get out for a bit and have a different focus. Not bad.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Hi, I'm fine now, the lurg won to a certain extent, as I had to have a day off work.....but that wasn't a hardship!
Glad the funeral went as well as it could have done.about the washing machine.
