Didn't wake up properly till 8 today - much needed!
Dd wanted to go to Kids Klub so has trotted off to church with dh and I have an empty, quiet house. The sun is shining and I shall be having another hot olbas oil bath very soon.
A whites wash is on.
Tasks to accomplish:
- make biscuits for dd
- sort out all the postage stuff - rather large task so want to start before dd + dh return
- mark y11 assessments
- make cake?
Off to run that bath!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Hope you're feeling slightly better A*M and getting plenty of rest, important not to overdo it when a virus is running riot, Saturday sounds like it was extreme dedication to duty.
Go you indeedy with mortgage progress ... you've really no need to beat yourself with the "must do better" stick for NSDs when you're being so organised and making so many MOPs as a result of it. ok, so money is being spent (Xmas preps, groceries etc) but you haven't taken your eye off the MF ball.
BTW October thread is looking fantastic too, go you all round (erm, except don't go today, just take it easy!) xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Thank you for the cheerleading, Hbbb. Much appreciated!
I feel as if my focus and mojo and active approach are on the wane - all due to this pesky virus, I know. So I am very glad to have had many months of NSK training to set me on the right path. It's easier to poddle on than try to blaze a new trail.
The bath, washing and postage stuff are done. The postage took me 2 hours to organise! I'll admit I didn't rush it, but it would have been soooo easy to get it wrong, so concentration and slowness were required.
Need to clear the racks before I can wash up or even contemplate baking! But a sit down is required first....
Now that the mortgage is below 65k, I'm playing with the calculator to see if there is any way we can hit 59 by the end of the year. It doesn't look possible, unfortunately. 2400 + 600 + another possible 600 does NOT make enough! Ah well. We were over 78 at the start of 2014 so we're still doing very well indeed!
We had a nice amount in our joint account at the end of Sept - dh said it was good! It'll pay for the car repairs, and hopefully the fence and loo too. We're not planning to move anytime soon so want to get jobs done to enjoy the results. Or at least, I do!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I am officially on the mend - simply tired instead of weary and feeble. Go me! Tho' possibly not quite up to cycling on Thurs, as I still have a tight chest and cough a lot...
Today has been another NSD, bringing me up to a grand total of 3. I do like the sense of empowerment and achievement they bring!
Dh has just got us a bargain price for our home insurance. He's good! We were quoted something silly like £360, but looking back over the last few years, we've paid increasingly more each time, even with making no claims. So he kept looking, following all of Martin's tips, and ended up getting it for about £170 with DLine. :T We also have car insurance with them, so think that's knocked a chunk off. But we are wearing our smug faces tonight!
Dd has finally grown out of her jeans. She is 6 3/4 (very important, the 3/4 bit!) and the jeans are age 3-4.. So when I go to collect my new specs on Weds, I shall venture bravely into pr1marn1 to get her some more. She is very much a leggings girl, but got so chilly on Sat that she has converted 100% to being a 'thick woolly tights under jeans' girl! Today she wore her summer dress, long socks and thick cardi; tomorrow it is polo shirt, pinafore, thick tights and cardi! The rest of the dresses are already packed away!
Hmmm. Maybe I should crack on with the sleeves for that jumper I was knitting for her - back in May/June time...
And she has decided to go to sleep in her own bed :j for about the first time (or so it seems) since breaking her collarbone back in Feb. Now, just as one swallow doesn't make a summer, neither does 1 attempt (seeing as she's not yet asleep, so we can't yet class it as successful...) mean it'll happen every night! In fact, I am fully expecting to hear the wooden ladder creak as she descends, then the pad, pad, pad of her popping in here!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Today's (hopeful) plan of action:
- dd to cheerleading for 8am
- then walk along and get bus to town
- 9.30 pick up specs
- prior to that, visit primarni to get jeans for dd and look at fleecy blankets (dh has told me not to bother with fleecy jamas for him as NO WAY will he wear them - that's me told!)
- pop to market and price up fleecy material (friend at work is bringing in her 1kea fleece for me to see the texture and size and cost on thurs - yay!)
- try not to get too wet
- washing
- washing up
- marking
- sewing - hahaha never seem to get this one done at the mo.
- or knitting?
- aldee shop
- collect dd and do mathletics + spellings + reading. Ugh.
Enough! Time to get the ball rolling, get out of my snuggly bed, prod dd to wake her up and make breakfast.
Oh, how on earth do people work full time AND have kiddies?!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Shopping confession time...
Pr1marni yielded 2 lilac checky tthrows at £3 a piece and measuring 125cm x 150cm. These should fit our bedroom windows.
Also got dd some jeans for £4 and sweet red rudolph warm legs for £5. Plus a gaggle of black hair elastics that we'll both use.
So, £16 gone there.
One ch shop gave up a Hell0 Kitty winter hat, green jeans and soft my little pony toy for £2.50.
Another ch shop provided 2 glasses for £1 - smaller than ones we have and dd can use the glass painting paints on them - and 3 books for dd (1 she defo wants, 1 I reckon she'll enjoy, and a Barbie 2011 annual that's only a little bit coloured in) for £1.50.
Now I get to go out in the rain - yet again - to do the food shopping. However, my Oyster card has maxed out so I may just bus it both ways!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

I have hung the fleecy throws in our bedroom - 7 safety pins apiece. I feel snugger already. I'd need 3 more to do the front door and hall door, at 1.5 each; and possibly 6 each for the 2 downstairs windows. Then 2 for dd's window. Hmmm. 17 more!!! So, £51 plus the cost of more safety pins...Let's see the size and price of the Ikea one tomorrow before raiding primarni!
The aldee shop was £46.01 . I did not expect to spend that much, so obviously a fair chunk was off-list. But I did find that their bratwurst sausages are gluten-free, so bought 2 packs!
Didn't manage any marking or sewing, but did more of dd's sleeve for her jumper. Result!
Tomorrow being Thursday, dh does dd in the morning, making for uninterrupted coffe and mse time! Am almost up for cycling but it would be prudent to wait another week.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Note to self:
The morning after dh has made tea, read the label on the spice pot that you have just picked up from its usual spot, to ensure that it is cinnamon. 4g of chilli or cumin or paprika is not so yummy.
Nearly lost my 3 scrambled eggs and 100g pl yog!in the end it was only 25g of the yog, leaving a hint of chilli flavour!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Work is finished for the week - yay!
Lovely friend at work brought in her Ikea fleece throw/blanket. For the same price as mine, you get a bigger throw that's better quality! So a trip to Ikea will be necessary, as there were only 160 left in stock!!! And because they are bigger, I'll 'only' require 13 now...
Will have to wait in for a delivery all day tomorrow, only escaping for the school run, assuming that the card for a missed delivery today was NOT the re-arranged for tomorrow delivery....which would mean it won't turn up tomorrow... Must get dh to check what he has ordered...
We NEED that bouncy hopper....!
Not much more to report. Got me another NSD - phew! Added up all the miles my fitbit says I have done - a stonkingly good 26 so far! Have decided to declutter the pair of tracky trousers I am currently wearing as they are just not right. Decision made! So that total is creeping up...
Tomorrow's list:
- stay in!
- do gazillions of dishes
- colours wash
- wash green rug
- dd's prescription order
- do photos for niece's bday
- hoover stairs and landing
- knit
- set up display for fair and trial displaying wares...
- if delivery comes in time, get to bank and pay in money!
Right. Off to settle dd...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
:j:j The bouncy hopper has been delivered! :j:j
And I have done my 1st workout for over 2 weeks. 300 jump squats + 100 sandbag deadlifts. Enough! Took about 16 mins.
And since the delivery came, I've been to the bank to pay in £50 of coins and a cheque from dh. So a wodge to add to my % off the mortgage!
2 lots of washing have been done. 1 was hung outside - bad move! After the bank, I went to the library and the heavens opened again. I didn't get too wet, but my washing is now draped all over the house...but at least I've got my step count up!
Must go and change my % amount!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
