  • Oooh, go me with a saw!

Some of the neighbour's sycamore (grrrr) tree branches were kind of overhanging / blocking light. They are pesky no longer! They are also sawed/sawn (?) down to the right size to fit in the recyc bags - just need to buy another green recyc bag from the library. They cost £1 but that's a darn sight cheaper then trips to the tip!

Oh, and have managed to down another brownie, this one mixed with cream...

Yum to all those brownies! :)

MfiT can be used to reduce your mortgage, not necessarily to pay it off. I'm doing the current one with the aim of paying it off in Dec 2015 (am slightly behind target at mo) but I also did the previous one with a target to reduce my mortgage by £x (can't remember figure) over the 3 years. I personally like it - and also do the year's challenge alongside them. :) Some people are also using it to target increased savings (eg: financial bliss, as he's now MF) x

  • Dd loved her tap and ballet this morning. She is now saying that when she stops tap, she wants to do freestyle! I replied by saying we need to think about it and not rush!

After lunch we all went for a little walk up to the woods, then ending up in the playground for an hour! Dd managed to tread in some dog poo which then spread up her leggings - yukky - so I did another wash once we were back.

Tea is bubbling away. I'd got it all ready and simmering, walked back into the lounge and dh looks up from his pc to say, "oh, I was going to cook tea," and gave me a blank look when I mentioned I'd been chopping away and being generally noisy in the kitchen for 20 mins. And he could have stopped me at any point!

To redeem himself, he has made hm chips, which I love!

Little does he realise tea has no meat in it! It's basically a chickpea and spinach curry with a few other things thrown in. Yum!

It is still unseasonably warm here, and windless.

Dd has just informed me that she reckons she could be a Power Ranger because she's good at fighting!

I snuck in a workout - 12 minutes of full burpee with press up plus a handstand. Managed 44. Go me!

  • October is shaping up to be quite busy - for me anyway.

So I need to make sure it is all written down so I can be prepared and not overwhelmed by it.

Another glorious day today - washing is almost dry. Must get outside and do some garden tidying.

  • Tis past 9pm and dd is still awake. Pesky child!

October is all written up, so I feel more in control of it.

Mondays are a pickle as dd is doing an after school club but the neighbour's dd isn't. Nor are any of my usual fallback friends. One suggested I put a request out on the fb page, and a lovely mum, who both dd and I know, offered as her ds will be at the same club. And she only lives 2 mins away. Such kindness! She'll take dd home with her so I'm not rushing quite so much as if she was waiting in the playground in the rain!

Still means I need to leave promptly but isn't so stress-inducing. Phew.

I have dug over and weeded the back garden, which certainly made me sweat. I'm very glad it was all so dry. But I didn't see the job through to completion - didn't empty the compost bin onto it. I pulled up some wayward rasp cane roots too. Now I can see how much space there is - still not a lot, but it's now useable. If I do persuade my dad to 'lend' me the 3-tier shelfy thingy, that'll go at the side of the garden, so not actually on the part I've dug over. Will need to think what to grow! Easy stuff that produces an excess would fit the bill nicely!!

Still reading MMM. Still loving it! A work colleague also loves his stuff and she's signed up to the October Turtle Triathlon too. Exciting chats ahead!

Dd is now asleep so am off to make coleslaw!

  • Ugh!

    Snotfest.

    And very hurty sinuses.

    And swollen neck glands.

But am going to work! I postponed an assessment for my y11s last Mon, as they had science + English too (all set AFTER mine, but involving more kiddies, so I did the honorable thing!). Do NOT want to postpone again.

So am currently dosed up and feeling marginally better. Have a bagful of meds to take with me, plus a box of balm tissues. Having spent the night with a tissue up one nostril, they are essential.

Dd has the right idea - she is refusing to wake up! Will have to prod her a bit harder soon...

  • We've just dipped below 66k!

    Snotfest continues.

Y11s did me proud and all tried so hard.

Left work early - by agreement - as was struggling. Will take a medicine cupboard's worth of pills with me again tomorrow. And won't forget my lunch!

I'll be going to bed with dd tonight - at 8pm. Last night wasn't good so need to catch up.

  • Another not-so-great night under my belt! When I woke in the night, it was a couple ofhours before I was asleep again. Twice. Boo hiss!

Am getting dosed up to go to work, with my medicine cabinet of pills in my bag, and a box of balm tissues inmy hand!

However, yesterday I did turn about 12 bunny arms and legs the right way round, so they are ready for stuffing.

And dd practised riding her bike round the green - she sometimes struggles to use the brakes, but is doing well.

I stopped eating tea after a few mouthfulls as my tum felt awful. Thought I was going tohave another bout of throwing up, so I went and lay down on thebathroom floor, sothat I was in the right place! Dd had to climb over me to usethe loo and said 'Mummy, I can tell you aren't well'. !! Observant, huh? I wasn't sick in the end, but didn't choose to finish my tea!

This is the same child who came home from school with her dress inside out, but buttoned in such a way that the buttons were on the outside.she is truly her father's daughter!

  • Morning, sounds like you could do with a day in bed resting :o

    Hope it passes quickly.
