All the marking and paperwork is done and sent in/posted off. All that remains is to check my bank account for the correct payments. Oh, and write the reports on my team. But they were all so lovely, that should be straightforward.I'm pleased with what I've done with plants + pots + saucers + crocks. Several dead plants are in the compost bin. Several other plants have been potted up into bigger pots. All unused earthenware pots have been washed (using paddling pool water) and the general result is that both the kitchen windowsill and the patio look much better.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Ooh, now what do I want from August? I'm generally lacking motivation to achieve much in all spheres of life... Sigh.. 1 day at work (boo), the 31st.13 days away (6 start tomorrow, Norwich; another 7 in Tynemouth later on). 1trip to a Lunnon art gallery with pip.1 Dr check up re meds.1 bday for dhThis coming week should involve being outside for most of the day, plus a lot of walking, so will be good for my activity levels - and sleep too. It should also involve minimal spends as we'll potentially have all our meals provided. At the mo, we're taking breakfast items and coffee making items (the topmost priorities!) So, moving a lot and eating well and spending little can be the challenges for the first week of August. We have dyed dh's hair. Purple. V surprised that he agreed to it, as he has so little of it. He is currently walking around with what looks like a false 'old man' set of purple hair (the dye)! I've used up the rest of the pink to refresh mine. Pip is chuffed to bits!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

By lunchtime, I'd done about 2500 steps. Now I'm over 15000. And that was just a half day. I'll be definitely getting my activity quotient up over the next few days.Pip is already struggling. I left them having a little cry, hugging their toy v tightly and telling themself that they can do this. I don't think they'll manage more than tonight camping.Trouble is, our place really is only designed for two people! It's diddy!!!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Howling dogs at 3am, anybody? And a text 10 mins before that from your child telling you that they had a meltdown at 2am?Guess what? I didn't sleep too well, and we only got to bed at 11.30, and were up at 6.05. The extra 5 mins was important!Anyway, 120 people to help feed. Up and at 'em.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!1

21,000+ steps today. I must've drunk about 4 litres of water. And peed or sweated most of it out too!Pip has come back with us to sleep tonight. If we're lucky, we'll get a whole extra hour compared with yesterday...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you Lady, but I'm just helping. I'm not the actual cook! Me and dh and another chap (who arrived only today) are chopping, cleaning (sooo much cleaning!), serving, shopping, going to and from the fridge and freezer hub a gazillion times a day (that last one's mainly me, and it started out at about 200m away, but gets further each time, I'm sure of it...), filling the water containers, getting rubbish to the bins, getting waste water to the sluice, overseeing the washing up teams, cleaning up the kitchen equipment, repegging tents, keeping the gazebos upright, checking on the allergy kids... Or something like that!About twice a day, I get to sit down - toilet visits are a luxury, and another little rest!I'm v glad we're not actually camping too. We all slept like logs last night, though were still up by 6.05 to wash through the tea towels, get us all up, fed, wash up and head out to try to be there for 8 to serve bfast. But I'm loving it! Fresh air and sunshine, lots of walking (lots!), good company...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2
