Tired. And going to get tireder. Dc had a good day at home and is currently just finishing watching a show. Due back at sch at 10.45. so I'm staying up well past my bedtime. And tomorrow I have permission to leave after conducting the speaking tests and do my later lessons remotely. Which is great. But manic. But also means I miss having 2 of my weekly 3 frees. Ah well, it's a great result for dc, who I anticipate will be a wreck 😆.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Got to work absolutely sodden this morning. It's about a 3-4 min walk from where I park to the front door. During which time the heavens opened. On me. Thankfully the heating was working today so I could dry off my footwear, socks and rucksack. Had to keep the soggy trousers on though, until they dried, about 2 hours later. The hems are still damp even now...So I did my orals then legged it home to be with dc, who only started waking up at 11 ish. Absolutely shattered from going to the theatre. But absolutely loved it.I then had to teach remotely and I'm off for my next remote lesson in a few mins. It's hard work! I'm so glad that I'm not full time.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Dc went in to school today. Very unwilling. But they did go in. Phew.I have been to the gym and saw a 'friend' there - I only see her at the gym and we have a little natter each time. It's just lovely. I was passing on advice re care home funding - we used Eldercare for mum and they were simply fantastic to use.I have also been to the dentist for a check up. And will be returning to have 2 fillings replaced, as they have reached the end of their life expectancy. To be expected. And I'm replacing amalgam with white. I have a lot of fillings, and decided a while back that when they needed replacing, I'd go with white. Not cheap, mind.2 loads of laundry done.1 set of listening papers marked (admittedly only 5 kids
) and I am so pleased with their grades.
Off out again soon for bloods. Routine coeliac tests. I'll combine it with visiting sainz, to use our £3 voucher, and a mooch in the mooching ch shop.I'm very aware of how much I use the car. Dh has his old man bus pass and dc has their oyster zip, so they go free on bus/tram. I have to pay. Given what is happening out there I reckon there'll be a run on fuel soon. So am pondering... I can use the buses to/from work - it takes longer, but I somehow really enjoy the walking parts and being outside. And I could dust the bike back off and use it - once the days are longer. I can shower at work, which adds to the time taken, and my legs are super tired on the way home (and the last 2.5 miles are all uphill and into the wind). But not unmanageable at all.Okay. Brain dump over. Off to offer a vein.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6 -
Little chats with acquaintances mean so much more these days, don't they
I have one that I chat to, and two (now four, recently!) that I exchange cheery greetings with. Trying to develop those!
I think you're right to try to cut down car useage ... I'm sometimes wondering about whether to buy the planned car after all, given what's going on in the world, maybe a bike would be a better idea - but I'd never be able to get to my sister's with a bike, or any other town. Sigh ... life decisions!
I hope the vampires were appreciative of you offering a vein2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Glad your DC is doing ok. Hope the blood results are good.2

Every day is different with/for dc. Today they are physically tired from bouldering and dance, plus mentally worn out from the methodology of the dance teacher who insists on changing the dance randomly then changing it back, all the while whilst blaring the music out. Sigh.Today's ponderations include looking ahead. Not in the 'visualising where I want to be in 5/10/20 years' way. More the ' do I want to be in this same position/life/house/job etc in 5/10/20 years' way. I tell you, the second way is more stimulating for me!Growing up, there was a really sunny corner in the front garden where a variety of daffs bloomed. Hindsight wishes I'd dug up some bulbs when I could. But I didn't. So I bought some small double headed sweet smelling ones today and have planted them out. They'll make me think of my dad.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Early start and late finish tomorrow. Leave the house about 6.20 am and return around 8pm. Ugh. We have a sixth form info eve (again) . The previous one was very well advertised outside the school but very minimally inside, so very few internals came along. This one? It's the evening of the first day of their mocks. Pi55 poor timing, eh...I'm on the buses tomorrow so that dh has the car to collect dc from school, bring home to change, take to youth group, return to mostly lock up the school, go and collect dc, feed them, finish locking up... Ooph.Today, I took dc to meet a friend in a park that is halfway between us and them. They are always dropped off late. Only 10 mins this time. The mum said she was off for a swim and would be back around 3. She made it for 3.34. I mean, who does that to their kid?????NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

That's rough for the offspring, for sure
and what about you and your dc? Because good grief, I just re-read your first sentence - that's a long, Long LONG time out of the house tomorrow! Take care.

I was so lucky to get a lift home, and be back soon after 7. Phew.Today, I ended up cancelling my optician appt. It was only a recall, not a need. And it was just causing me a lot of stress, trying to get there and fit it in to everything else for today. Especially when I remembered that I have an online meeting at 3.45 - ugh. I am very grateful for being able to cancel it quickly and simply online. So I went and did a long, hard session at the gym. Which did me good. And popped into the ch shop up there where, for under £21, I got: jamas for me; jamas for dc for next winter (brushed cotton sort, nice and warm for my cold-blooded offspring); nice lycra legs for exercising; a mountain warehouse ski jacket for me; a black real leather jacket for dc (no studs, but it seems that we can buy those and attach them ourselves!)I need to reclaim my days off as days off. Not have them as days where I'm rushing to complete admin for work. I am glad that I'm used to prioritising and making lists and keeping to deadlines. But sometimes, there is just so much to be done. Sigh. It's a work in progress...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5
