I am extremely grateful to my two spare patio slabs which are currently preventing the fence being blown apart. The chaps who 'mended' it quite recently did a pants job. But you only get to realise that quite a while afterwards. So one post wibbles and wobbles like a weebil. And the 2 slabs are keeping it fixed in one position into the wind. Phew.

I suddenly feel very stifled. I think the only time this last week that I wasn't on a strict schedule to get home, or with dc next to me, was yesterday at the gym, when dc was out for several hours (and they did call 90 mins early to be collected.)
Maybe I'm just not v good at doing things I enjoy when other people are around!!!

Dh took dc to bouldering this morning, and I used the time to get the bus and do a quick shop at both sainz and aldee, plus do some laundry and get in a workout. Not quite the relaxing time I'd thought about, but I did get all the shopping, and whizz some of dc's floordrobe clothes through a cycle.
Dc still has a rotten cold and cough but has coped well with much less medicine today. They went bouldering, which is very strenuous! And also to dance, so I'm well proud of them.

It is official. Dc has been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. They are mightily relieved. As are we.

  • I think you are right to be so forward looking and obviously you are very supportive of dc. Hope all goes well.

Great that you got so much done, I don't think I'd be half as productive as you and dh!

Sending love and it is horrible to be torn in many directions.

DD2 tried DofE but couldn't cope. It is right to try but also opt out if it is wrong for them at the time.

Very glad dc has received a diagnosis - not so glad you're overwhelmed right now xx

Yes re D of E. Dc did sign up and was quite keen, but that waned over the months and whenever we talked about it, it became a chore and a trigger. Time to withdraw!
So today went well at work and the kids did their best. And I got to do a short but intense workout at the gym beforehand. Just as well cos I couldn't have done it afterwards....
Tomorrow dc has to be home alone, I'm leaving at 6.50 and dh at 8.35. They are kind of ok with this. I just need to leg it out of work at the end of the day to get home and feed dc and take them to the coach for 5.15. They're due back at school at 10.45 pm. Yikes.
And I'm getting a plan in place for Thurs. Starting off by talking to my dep head early tomorrow, hence leaving before 7. And giving them the situation and seeing if I could, if needed, leave after conducting the speaking tests (when I have a free period) and teach the rest of my classes online from home...
I just want it to be Friday already...
