I know how tired I am at the end of the day. And dc has all the myriad of interaction, stimulation to process, let alone the learning.

Took dc out for a walk this evening when they started thumping the wall. We talked a lot. May not have resolved anything, but saved dc's hand from more damage.

Oof. Sorry to hear what happened. But yes, as an immediate measure, diverting the energy to something positive, or even neutral, is a lot better than that. Healing vibes to you both.2023: the year I get to buy a car3

Well, dc went into school ok today but I had a call around 12.30 to go and collect, as they had been in the nurse's office for an hour with stomach pains.Sigh.I need to get things for me that I enjoy built into each day, otherwise I'll have nowt left to give to dc/mum/dh/work when it is needed...Ah yes, mum. She is forgetting me. I knew it would come, but it is still very upsetting. Admittedly it was over a phone call and when we did a video call, I think she did know me. However, I cannot go and see her cos dc needs me. And anytime I have to choose between them, I would always choose dc. And that's what mum would want, I reckon, if she was able to say so. But it is still hard. Constantly hard.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Heavens, that *is* hard, I'm so sorry it's come to that. But I'm sure you're right - as a grandmother, she'd want you to choose her granddaughter, rather than her. And this is "the squeezed middle", I'm afraid you're living it.2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Oh Apple it is hard xxx
What happens when DC needs collecting and you are at work?
I realised I couldn't stay in teaching with that amount of disruption (the amount I had, I mean).4 -
Thats very difficult Apple, being pulled in at least two directions and also sad that your mum didn't seem to know you though as its via 'technology' that can make a difference and might come and go? Its such a painful thing to happen and caring for 2 generations is always going to mean making difficult decisions. As you said, important to find some time for yourself in the day too if you can xx5

I realised I couldn't stay in teaching with that amount of disruption (the amount I had, I mean).I work 3 days a week, Alchemilla, and management know that I may have to drop everything and run at any point. And have given me permission to do so, which is a huge relief. Dh usually works from home, mostly for himself, so he can go and get dc at any time. If he wasn't able to go, or dc was too ill to get on the bus home with him, then I'd leave work asap and go and collect them in the car. They are having stomach pains a lot at the mo. We have no idea what is causing them. So all we can do is try to alleviate the pain, keep a note of time + severity, and make a Dr appointment.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6 -
I. Am. Tired.I left dh and dc the car and got buses to and from work. I left the house at 6.20 and was home by 5, so not too bad. I did do lots of rushing for buses and a fair amount of waddling/trotting to get to the bus stops. Poor planning on my part. I left the car because dc goes straight to a youth group from school and when the buses are late/slow/ornery, they arrive quite late. And I wanted them to have a chance to come home and change and have a relaxing journey for once. So dh took, and I went and collected. Then we went straight into a zoom re the autism assessment. We thought it was going to be the 'results' but it was the final set of interview questions. So dc is still processing the disappointment and I'm wiped out too. They are not yet in bed, and it looks like it's going to be a late one...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

It was a late one, but dc wasn't going in to school today anyway, so they could sleep in.I am now on my half term. Phew. I still have a fair amount of work admin that I must do tomorrow. And I'd love to get through the to do list and progress onto doing garden stuff in the daylight plus a bit of lesson prep while watching some Olympic stuff. But I am going to the gym and liddle on buses once dc is at school, so that will account for most of the morning. Then lunch always takes longer at home than at work...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4
