We have had a frost. A proper frost on the car windscreen, rather than the usual namby pamby ones. So I was a tad late leaving for work! Prob the same again tomorrow, except I'll be better prepared...We had a post-work meet re finances, which I found rather useful and informative. But the group wotsap messages afterwards were pretty scathing and finger-pointing and inflammatory. Which is why I have muted the notifications for it, and just read it when I feel like doing so. I can't be doing with permanently cross people who just blame others...Work was a good one, got things done, enjoyed my teaching. Got another nsd and was home in time to scoff the tea that dh had made, and take dd swimming and go to the gym for an easy session.Tomorrow won't see much change in our lifestyle, though there will hopefully be less traffic...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Well done on the notifications-muting. At the moment, thats how my cat pix are arriving, so I'm staying with mine
Hope the lockdown doesn't bring you too many problems.

Dd taught me how to mute an individual conversation! A really useful skill to have acquired!

So t0sc0 have an advert out on tv about how they are using traffic lights for entry into their stores to keep numbers safe, how they have a cleaning station, how their floor markings keep people distanced and how their perspex screens at the till are brill. Well, aren;t they marvellous, eh? my aldee store has been doing all of that for months already...Dd almost went to school with her super warm cmas leggings under her trousers, but took them off when we unearthed a pair of my long ski socks that are long enough to go over her knees! Aldee has their ski stuff in store from Sunday, so I will be going there for socks, thermals, snood and jamas for her! She really feels the cold, poor mite.I have knitted her a poppy for next week. I've only recently found out about there being different colours for remembering different things. White, purple and black ones too.Found a gf/df selection pack in aldee this morning, so got that for dd. I have learned to get things as soon as I see them, because they are nearly always a one-off and if I take time to think about them, then they are gone before I get back there.Sch stuff is rumbling on, but we have chosen our 4 reps...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

We went to aldee for 10am and it was pretty jam packed - the traffic lit door wasn't working, so customers could all just go in through the 'out' door. Yikes! We perused the 'stuff' rather than food and got dd a beanie + neckwarmer, 1 pair of ski socks and a set of thermals. We almost went to get some bacon but that section was heaving so we bailed out and joined a short queue before they got too long. Home by 10.25. Result. (I think people are stockpiling for Cmas already...)Dd requested having the Cmas box downstairs so dh went up to the loft to drag it out. I though it was because she wanted to look for plain baubles to decorate as presents (she got a bauble-decorating kit from aldee the other week). But no - it was because she wants to start Cmas!!!!!I discovered a herb kit in the cupboard so am using that as a 'happy house move' gift for a work colleague, along with a hm card. And am including a big yoghurt-pot-full of compost as I don't expect a flat-dweller to own any compost!I spent a happy 20 mins in the front garden cutting down the phlox this morning. So many neighbours came by in that time, it was lovely to have a chat. I now have enough garden waste to warrant a visit to the tip on Tuesday. Oooh, such excitement!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Just had a look at the worldometer numbers and over the last few days, as we know, the 'local' figures are in their 20,000s. But France, my goodness! Over 80,000 on one day. Scary. Big numbers too in Italy and Spain and Poland.

The French numbers are horrific, aren't they! I don't know quite what's happened there ... I hope they get it down really soon.Knitting poppies! I did a red one last year, first time ever, I'm really proud of it. As to the colours ... when I still lived in London, I went on the parade past the main Cenotaph in Whitehall one year, with the Peace Pledge Union, who originated the white poppies (for the civilian dead). We gathered at St Martin's Church, on Trafalgar Square, and the guy leading us said that we had to be very self contained, very aware, because we could expect insults and shouting to be thrown our way. And they were, too - I don't *think* that happens nowadays, diversity is too important, but it was a shock. Especially as I have a *lot* of members of the armed forces in my family ...

Dd has made herself a white one, karma. Sch told them to make sure they had some scissors, and provided all they needed to make the colour of their choice, and give a donation.Wales have cancelled their gcse and a levl exams. Go Wales! Here, 'they' are still messing with pupils' minds + mental health....NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

I feel like I have pillaged both aldee and liddle...Well, that's what my bank account tells me... Aldee was food; liddle was a mattress topper for dd and some unplanned stuff. Including an advent calendar that is like bunting, a jumper for gs1's bday in May and a pair of bathroom scales. Very happy with it all, but oopsie to saving my dosh...Did put in a reclaim for dd's uniform from the summer, which was about £100.Have done about another hour in the front garden (in between chatting to all the passing neighbours!) - who'd have thought that there was so much to cut back and so many pesky weeds to dig up. (still not done enough to dig up the pink bush thingy - sigh) Then took it all to the tip. Yay!I've also planted up 5 small pots of narcissi (little ones, I hope) to use a Cmas presents.A workout had been done and a long hot bath has been enjoyed.Dd has informed me that she is getting a lift home, so I don't have to go out again - may just go and put my jamas back on...
