Another great day has been hadWe got the bus to and from the beach this time, and paddleboarded and canoed for an hour. It may not sound long, but it gave me plenty of exercise! The wind was strong, so quite hard going into it, but lovely with it behind. I've not canoed for 30+ years, but hadn't forgotten how to do it. When paddling into the wind, I gave it some welly and felt like I was flying along over the waves, with the wind in my hair and the spray in my face.We spent the afternoon with my cousin again and had a good old natter. They might set up an airbnb place by converting their garage and have said we could trial it for them next year! Though it sounds way too small for 3 people...And now, we're mostly packed. I'm binning a pair of shorts and a teeshirt, and 2 books are joining the freebie ones downstairs; but I have acquired some shorts and 2 books, plus some dinosaur/rock things, 4 sticks of rock and quite a lot of sand...
. I didn't wear my light jacket or light waterproof or trousers or l/s tee shirt, though the forecast before we travelled said I would need them. But that means that the weather was good,so no complaints from me!

It sounds absolutely lovely! I'm so glad you had such a good time - and yes, kayaking and paddleboarding for an hour takes *lots* of energy! I bet you sleep well

Ah yes, sleep. The bed is the main downside of the place, as it is really bouncy so when one person (ie dh, cos it's never me...) fidgets or turns over, then the other one (ie me) gets bounced a bit. And for me, that creates nausea. Which, on top of my balance being all wonky at the mo, aint good. Dh has done his best not to fidget, bless him, but he is not a still sleeper! We'll be so glad to be back in our own beds tonight!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Sounds fantastic - I love an active holiday. We did an adventure (basically multi-activity) holiday in Wales last year and hands-down the most successful family trip although, like you, it was good to be able to crash back home afterwardsChoose kind3

Pesky balance/ears/dizziness/nausea... I didn't sleep as well as I'd hoped - I was up on 3 pillows instead of my usual flat one and couldn't turn to either side. Ugh. So when the alarm went off, I opted to camcel my booked gym visit (just what was I thinking?!!?) And did a kb workout downstairs instead.Dd and I have been in to town to spend her Wst0nes voucher + some money from selling her stuff. She chose wisely, as we'd recently been told about the site called b00ks2u that looks like it bought out the b00kpe0pl3, so she knew how much a set would cost... I also paid in my tax rebate cheque (nice + quick as I could use a machine) and did a smallish liddle shop.It is hot out there!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

It's literally like a furnace outside my back door. Exactly the right day *not* to be on an adventure holiday!

Ooph, it is hot! Strange how quickly you get used to 20C being 'cool' at 7am! And you just fall asleep in your own sweat...I have been doing my workouts early, and have 3 gym sessions booked in for this week plus a swim with dd on Sat. I used the super-duper-all-reading-no-hiding-what-you're-really-like machine, and things are kind of going the right way. So that is a good thing.Collected some more lost property this morning and, along with our own laundry, got 3 loads washed and dried. There's still plenty more to collect... I have a pile to offer my neighbour; some football boots went to the little boy opposite; and I have a few ideas of people for other bits...We have some giant sunflowers that are looking impressive, and some look like they'll produce several flower heads. We also have some spindly specimens which are 'only' 5', but valiantly flowering away. Rain is due on Thurs (perfect for collecting those A level results, eh?) and thereafter for a few days, so I might realise my cunning plan of re-placing some lavenders...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4
