I have been and done the gym
and I loved it! I modified what I did ( back to no jumping, no lunging) but was able to do a full and proper workout with a well strapped ankle. It is colouring up nicely.
They have a super modern aircon system there that filters the air and cleans it, pumping the dross out into the community.
Having to book in advance is no bother. And just means that I have to be a bit more organised...Found out that there is a family swim on a sat, so am taking dd there tomorrow (not sure how the ankle will hold up, but I can swim with just my arms for a bit...) She loves to swim so it may become a regular fixture in our week until lessons re-start.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5 -
We loved swimming! 1/3 is one big lane for the up-and-down swimmers, the rest is for families. Max number = 30 but they only got to 24 during our session. 10 bookings are available and each booking = 1 adult +2 children, but the system isn't clever enough for bookers to saythey are only bringing 1 child... Not yet, anywayDd managed to kick my foot - oops - but I just did arms-only lengths. I'm expecting stiff shoulders tomorrow...We then found the last parking space in liddle - yay! I think I might have overdone it on the veggies...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Up and at 'em early (ish) today. I am enjoying the kettlebell workouts and am feeling stronger.I sewed up most of 2 more masks, so now have 5 needing elastic. Then I'll stop! We'll have 10 between us, which should be plenty...I'd offered to empty the lost property box at dd's old sch, and they'd given me the green light, so we collected about 4 bag-for-life-fuls this morning. (there must be at least double that much still there...) I've sorted through and have a bag for ch shop rags, some stuff just went in the bin, the rest is for washing and will go either to ch shops or the sch pta if it is logo-ed. Anything with a name in will go back in sept (tho prob before that, to get it out of the house) to be reunited with its owner.Maybe it was that that prompted me to go through another couple of drawers and a box of my clothing. A good trying-on session determined whether a) it fitted b) I liked it on c) no way was it staying... A couple of armfuls will be leaving...Tomorrow, I have another session booked at the gym. At 7.30am. (It seemed a sensible time when I booked it...) Once I get home, my plan is for dh to take stuff to the recyc centre (aka the tip!), then for dd and I to take as much as we can to the Sally Army shop. And to hunt round for some books to take away with us and leave behind there...Dh has mended the downstairs loo - yay! There are only 3 of us, but we are so used to having 2 loos...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Didn't sleep too well - I was concerned about waking up in time for the gym, even though I'd set an alarm...Anyhow, I had a marvellous time there, using 8k, 12k and 20k kettlebells. But, boy, am I feeling it now!Dh did a tip run - yay. Finally got rid of the 'riot shields' I found in the road several months ago. Strangely enough, we've had no use for them... He also took rags split into 3 bin bags - it feels really good to finally be rid of themWe all trotted up to the SA and dropped off 4 bags. Discovered that 0xfam is open, so Mr Goggle is wrong. And we can get the books up there this week. Talking of books, we came away with 2 for me (to read and leave behind), and 14 (
) for dd. We had been looking at the books2door website that a friend recommended, but had been holding back for a bit. And we gots loads of books today for much less money!
Today's weather is typical British camping weather. Perfect for drying clothes, if it wasn't for the rain...CCL has got me thinking about re-painting/re-covering our built-in wardrobes instead of replacing with free standing...We had a checkatrade leaflet through the door this morning, so must have a look at that for carpet fitters, kitchen people...But for now, the ankle needs a rest...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5 -
That's a really helpful thing to do, to go through the lost property box like thatBuilt-in wardrobes - if I had them, I'd keep them, they give *so* much space for using up the same room. And environmentally, much better. Paint is good!
Interesting that your charity shop is open - that one of mine I went to last week, although its open, its not accepting donations, which can only be made at the central warehouse, because of stopping the virus in its tracks. I have a fair bit that could go ...
I'm constantly amazed at how much exercise you doand at 7.30 in the morning, my admiration knows no bounds!

Ha ha - there is a lot more in that there LP box! Tis a summer-long task indeed...I would now agree with you re the usefulness of the wardrobes. Dh has so much 'stuff' in the up-and-over parts. And there's no room for that stuff in the loft, as he has filled it with other 'stuff'... So replacing with free-standing ones isn't viable...So sainz are planning to trial a remote-queueing system where you can wait in your car (or elsewhere...[elsewhere?!?! But where???]) And just pop out of nowhere to claim your turn. Hmmm. Seems mighty unfair to those who physically queue at the door / round the carpark/etc, to have it seem like people can 'push in'. How would the lovely assistants on the door know who to let in? They would be open to such aggro...If the weather's bad, just dress for the weather!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

That does sound like Sainsbury are taking it a step too far. I haven't had to queue once at our big Sainsbury on the few visits I have had during lockdown. Although we did go to pick up DH prescription once, just before the May bank holiday and the queue was mental so we kept driving. People can always take a brolly to queue in the rain!Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Maybe it's like those tickets you used to have to use for the deli counter?

Mr Shapps is back from Spain and is quarantining. But he has no worries about not being paid; or losing his job... So what impact has it really had on him and his family... Apart from not being allowed to show off their tans...

Ooh, nearly ready to jet off overseas... If getting the hovercraft to the IOW counts as going overseas...We have booked for dd and dh to have a tree climbing session (ouch! to the cost) and almost booked a SUP session - just waiting for them to call us back. We have kind of decided that we shall do the non-free things. I'd researched them last year, but we stayed for less time, and met up with step dd1 + gs a couple of times, plus my cousin, so never got around to actually doing them. There is a train line - old northern line carriages - so we may pootle off on that one day...There is also a t0sc0 xtra superstore up the road, which should certainly be cheaper than the town-centre c00p... Although we are taking some food - mostly dd's supplies, which cost a lot. Not an exciting trip, but necessary...The needles won't be visited as we'd have to spend half a day just in travelling there and back. Not departing too early - lunch will be eaten on the train - so enough time in the morning to gather those last few bits (that somehow make the luggage 10x heavier...).Aha - did another session at the gym this morning. And used the boditrax super duper body weighing and assessing and measuring all kinds of things machine. Suffice to say that lockdown hasn't helped with progress towards my goals
, but neither has it moved me too much further from them. Phew. We'll see what a week away does...
