Definitely counts! Hovercraft are tremendously exciting, they're so different! And totally agree on doing the non-free things - holidays are really difficult to take this year, so its kind of important to make the most of it. And PS my sister and I take food when we holiday in the UK. Plus when the cook on one particular cruise was really uncooperative, I bought some peanut butter in DenmarkAnyway, you have a great time!2023: the year I get to buy a car4

Dd and dh did their treeclimbing thing. Dd had thought it'd be more like scrambling up branches attached to a rope rather than the harness - rope - climbing - knotting thing it was. But she did still enjoy it immensely, and made a new friend. We came back for lunch, then went to the beach for the last of the sunshine. We hit low tide, and that is a very long way out from Ryde! As we left, and popped to the loos, we bumped into this morning's other tree-climbing family, so dd and their dd cemented their friendshipI think we'll just wander round Ryde tomorrow. Dd is all worn out! I want to find a jigsaw to do whilst here - it'll keep me off the tech - so that gives us a purpose for going out. And I'll go by myself if needs be...

What a lovely day! I'm sure tomorrow will be just as good. Have fun, all of you!

)Today has been just lovely .
Started by taking myself out at about 6.50 to exercise. Walked to the nearby park and did a ZWOW workout (took about 28 mins) I then felt so good that I walked down to the front and ran 1.2 miles (out and back combined),then walked home. Ooph. I might have done a little too much...!But we later walked in to Ryde and all acquired some books to read, and dh got some screwdriver bits (as you do when on holiday...) totighten up dd's wobbly bunk bed.I borrowed a 1000 piece jigsaw from the sharing shef in the entrance to the flat, and must confess that I have almost finished it!Anyhow, dd got fed up of being inside (despite that being the sort of day she requested) so she and I went to the beach front and bought an ice lolly and paddled in a bit of water left behind. So, over an hour of exercise this morning, plus a total of over 15K steps. We have booked SUP! Yay!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5 -

I love stand up paddleboarding. Yes, I fell off. Yes, I drifted too far away and a lovely man came by in his boat and towed me to shore cos I was swimming back cos I had fallen off and couldn;t get back on cos of my manky ankles... Oops. But we spent good time with my cousin, who also drove us there.AND she found a great restaurant back in town and it did gluten-free really well, and didn't mind dd eating her own food, and was also part of the up-to-£10-off-per-person scheme. My cousin's daughter joined us too - dd simply adores her, it's so sweet!Dd wants to go back to the SUP place, but try kayaking, so we're pencilling that in for Weds am. But just for 1 hour, this time...Tomorrow, we're off to Shanklin on the island train. We have found a cafe/resto that has good gf reviews, and also happens to be part of the up-to-£10-off scheme, so we plan to at least have a cake there! And buy some rockNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Fantastic! I'm so glad the decision to go and to go for it has been so well rewarded

We made it to Shanklin. The train can only be described as 'bouncy/jerky/uncomfortable', but it got us there and back, everyone wore a mask, and we couldn't work out how to pay for our ticket and no-one asked...We visited a couple of ch shops, went to the gf cafe which was definitely worth it and it had a fairy garden too, so dd took lots of photos. We did get some rock (for dd's friends and for a couple who are getting married on Sat) and also visited the Jurassic shop with all kinds of fossils, rocks and lovely things. We got 5 items for a princely sum of £6! This included a tooth to send to gs at some point (he's only 3 so not worth it at the mo) and a polished fossilised coral heart for dd.We were back at the flat for a late lunch and the sun has only got going in the last couple of hours, so we're glad today wasn't the SUP day. Dd has said she might do sup again instead of kayaking tomorrow, though we are all so stiff and hobbly it mightn't be possible! May I just interject here with a note that I am by far the least stiff and hobbly of the 3 of usThe 2nd book to leave behind is finished and the 2nd 1000-piece jigsaw is very nearly finished too.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3
