The Tories have been at war with the education system for decades (and how many send their kids to state schools?) so nothing surprises meChoose kind2

Did my hour at work and enjoyed seeing my y10s. Also chatted with the head, dep head + a colleague, so had a good ol' sociable morning which wore me out!Visited liddle on my way home and managed to spend £50 there. Oops. But it included 2x £4 flowers for dd's old head + dep head, £6 for another sports bra for me, £5 on mango, £4.40 on decaf coffee, £3.75 on 95% choc... We've had to buy decaf from sainz recently as we couldn't get it in aldee, and it was more than 2x the price. So I was v pleased to come home with 4 packs!Chloe Ting got started this morning - 2 w/outs of hers and 1 of zuzka. After seeing my head + dep head this morning, I have realised just what a toll the 'guidance' is taking on them both... And then 'they' go and change it again...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Dd has had an awesome end of year reportThe orthodontist has moved us on to the next part of treatment because it was clear that dd has been wearing her 2-part bracey thingies.
So I need to book a dentist slot for 2 teeth to be extracted. Ouch!
Dh has replaced the defunct shower with a new functioning one, paid for by nectar pointsNo excuse to be smelly now...

I'm not *surprised* at the awesome end of year report, its obvious from your posts that she's very intelligent and also works hard, but its always lovely to get that recognition, isn't it! Good for her!

Thank you greent
. She had a 10 min video talk with her form teacher and she was just squirming with delight at what she was being told. It was wonderful to see and hear. And I think that she finally believes that she does indeed deserve to be an academic scholar and be at the posh school.

Well, dd and I have finished school for the year
.
I did chloe ting day 3 this morning and zuzka 5 min #15. Then a utube tkd hiit session + practiced some moves at 4 whilst dd did her dance classes. Tbh, the hiit was much easier than my normal workouts, which was really nice! The live tkd class was at 6.30 which is just too late. Dh gets in from work at 6.10/6.15 and to make him wait until 7.45 for tea is a bit harsh...I am quite surprised at how I have adapted to not going out apart from (mostly) food shopping. This staying in malarkey is rather addictive... Maybe now that dd has finished school and I no longer have to be sat with (or at least, very nearby) her, then we'll get out more...Tomorrow, dh is out 'earlyish' to buy some wooden shelves from w1ck3s. We emptied out the under-the-stairs cupboard for the boilermen. And planned to sort through it before shoving it back in again. We are replacing a very dark, solid, heavy wooden cubey thingy with simple open screwed-together wooden shelves in the hope that having open shelves will mean we can find things more easily... And I hope that dh will get rid of some of his gubbins...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4 -
This is the time of year to get out more, for sure, especially now dd has finished school. The blackberries aren't quite ready ... I bet you still enjoy it though

Took dd with me to sch after lunch. (No prob as term has finished). We went to do some tidying up of 'my' room, to try to make it easier for when they deep deep clean it. The stuff I'd usually have done at the end of the sch year, but obv hadn't done. I was pleasantly surprised how little there was to do...Also had a chat with the dep head - who is exhausted, and there is no let-up in the foreseeable...In Sept, the kids will prob stay in one room for most of their lessons, and teachers will move. Which is not too far off what us part-timers do anyway. But still, I can now plan my plots and machinations for teaching next year with that in mind... I may even do a version of what I've done for distance learning: teach/learn/work for 35-40mins + then all mark it together and they tell me their marks. Saves me having books in which have to sit somewhere whilst thay are waiting to be marked...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5
