Well, today has been and gone, slowly yet quickly.
Did a tough bodyrock workout with my 12k kettlebell for company first thing.
Re-planned all my lessons for tomorrow as we need to submit stuff for the end of year school mag - and were only reminded of this last Monday - and the deadline is this Friday. Eek. So all my classes have a poster/fact file to design on either French inventions, or French festivals/celebrations, depending on their year group and what we've studied recently-ish. It's to be in English, so not exactly a tough task!
Dh has hung up the 'new' nets in our bedroom. We bought them several months ago. Oops. And the 'new' curtains are lurking somewhere safe...
I have told dd that I'll start painting her bedroom this week - we bought the paint on the day I went to a+e, so nothing has been done about it since then.

    Ooph. A busy day.
A poorly dd meant a call to the dr and a call-back from the nurse. She has a double ear infection, poor thing. But the good news is that the antibiotics are lemony - her all-time fave flavour of anything!
An afternoon spent at work, looking after keyworker kiddies. It was pretty non-stop and I've done a gazillion steps compared with recently.
Got home to find that dd had done a piece of hwk I'd suggested she do agfter school finished - go her! Especially as she's feeling pretty rotten.
Dh had a video call this morning, was out and about getting and sorting dd's prescription, prepped tea, went and locked up, and now has another longer call. Ooph.
I hope we all sleep well tonight!

I think we all slept well!
Dd is improving and has much less ear pain, which is good.
I have had some good work in from kids that I can use in the school magazine.
I did a tough workout that was hard work but very satisfying, and have also done about 6k steps - that's not much, but considering I'm barely leaving the house, I reckon it's jolly good.
Had a good session with my counsellor this morning.
We had a man come round to quote replacing our rads and boiler. We'd be able to get rid of both the hot and cold water tanks. The company did work for our neighbours a few doors up - which is how we heard of them - and have said they'll do it for the same price (whatever that is) if the work is the same. We realised that even after 15+ years here, we don't know our neighbours' surname!!
Seeds are producing sproutlings in the garden and the fruity bushes are flowering and looking promising, which is all rather satisfying.

I discovered that the reason yesterday was such a quiet day was that I'd forgotten to send out the work to one of my groups! Whoops.
Did another tough workout this morning - I can do a surprising amount, so long as there is no lateral movement in my ankle. I could do with getting out more for a walk, but I do need to find some footwear that doesn't press on the swollen part...
I work with some people who are really stressing about returning to the classroom. Full of 'what ifs' and 'yes, buts' and 'they can't', blaming slt for any and eveything. There's no point trying to be reasonable with them, but it is pretty hard, having to hear them go on and on and on... As for me, I trust my management to do their best with whatever Boris + co throw at us. If we're not back until September, so be it. My pupils may have had less input on the speaking (and listening to a lesser extent) side of things, but their reading and writing skills have continued to develop along with covering the next few topics. Sorry, that prob sounds really boring, but it's just a reminder to myself that I am doing a good job and that I mostly teach amenable kids who are doing their best too.

You'll always get people who waste their energy (and everyone else's!) speculating about all the possible permutations before a thing's even definite 😯 Hopefully it's marginally easier to ignore them from afar than if you were face to face every day!

    Glad the ankle is improving

oh it is much much easier from afar, south coast! When at work, I have withdrawn a lot from contact with such people.  I've just had a double dose this week and it was such a waste of time...so frustrating...but it's up to me to just let go of it all as I can do nowt to improve them...!
Today's plan is for dd to revise, for dh to edit all the bits for the service on Sunday, for me to potter on with prepping next week's work and go to the local sainz. The sun is shining and the grass needs a trim ...

There was a surprising number of vehicles on the road at 7.10am today, a Sunday, when I was out for a run! Not far, fast or pretty, but all on fairly smooth surfaces to protect the ankle - it is complaining a little quite a lot now, but it was good to do.
It has been lovely to have a couple of days off from school work and just potter along. Tomorrow will be weird as dd has been given an extra day of weekend - as a revision day for the very close assessments. And I have a normal day of work so will be wedded to my laptop.
Dd had a great 'play out' with a friend yesterday. Although they live so close, they don't often meet up so it's much nicer when they do it. A couple of hours just chatting, chilling and climbing trees.
Our seeds are producing lots of sproutlings so I'm hoping for plenty of colour later on. I can definitely state that we will have many sunflowers!

I went for another run this morning, and managed about double the distance before stopping compared with 2 days ago. Then I woke the household up. Dd had school, though she's pretty much under the weather still, so she took it gently. I did some chasing up of work. And ate cake. And chocolates.
Some friends popped round to sing me 'happy birthday' from out the front and give me 2 big bunches of tulips. On the doorstep was a box from m+s from the step-kids, with more tulips in, but different colours from the other bunches. And my neighbour heard the singing and came round with lisianthus for me. I am well and truly spoiled!
