So, France has had issues all along with testing - start date, quantity, reliability.Portugal ia trialling a vaccine. No one seems to mention Belgium which has been hit harder per capita than anywhere else, by a long way. Hmmm, must find a Belgian paper to add to my reading list...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Oops. Portugal aren't testing a vaccine. They're testing for antibodies. Rather different!

We are in lockdown. Never been here before. No idea how it will pan out. So why the heck are there people insisting that the govt spell out their strategy to exit the lockdown? I say let's keep a close eye on the numbers of those places that are opening up a bit, and see where they are in 3-4 weeks...Had a lovely chat with mil from Texas today. Not much has changed for either of us in the last week. She is still confined to her room, allowed out once a week!I went for a walk around the green in front of the house while dd and dh played badminton today. It showed me how much repair still needs to happen to my ankle/foot, and that was simply walking on the flat, regular paving slabs. Barefoot too, as crocs/sandals press on the swollen areas and make it hurt. But I did manage a version of a bodyrock workout with plenty of squats and my sandbag. So long as there is no sideways movement or turning of the foot, I seem to be ok.We got the wii functioning again, as I wanted to weigh the sandbag. But first, I had to weigh myself... Well, lets just say that I know now that the sandbag weighs 25lbs, approx 11.5 kgs. And I weigh 7x that. Yikes.Back to school tomorrow, so a busy day expected. I made the most of my Head's advice to keep off emails this weekend. I've also sat in the sun for a bit, reading. And dried 2 lots of washing.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Hmmm. Ooofsted say it is in children's best interests to return to school. Mixed reaction from me about this... It wouldn't be so that they can start inspecting again would it...???

I wish they'd give it a rest, yes.
Good for you on the walking while badminton was ongoingthat's a good idea, barefoot even better.

My full day of teaching of the week is done. Well, sort of. Chasing up is a full-time occupation! My new-and-improved way of doing things was fantastic - if a pupil sent me unmarked work, I simply pinged it back and asked them to mark it and then return it. Much better. And they get to see their score straight away.Re sept teaching, the dep head is planning the timetable so me + the other Fr teacher got emails and sorted out who's doing what. It helped that we'd already had a convo about it at the start of March, so had a doc on the go that just needed a little tweaking.Did another bodyrock workout called Hot Abs and thoroughly enjoyed it. Less walking today - just 4500 ish.Tomorrow, I absolutely MUST needlefelt some dinosaurs...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3
