Cor, back to work with a vengeance today! I was v pleased not to be called in to work and just be able to get on with my classes and marking from home.
Dd and I went out for a walk during her 'swimming' lesson - my first proper length one since the kerb got the better of me. She took me to the edge of the woods past a tree decorated with eggs and pictures and painted stones, up to a 'wishing tree' , also decorated. Really lovely to see them both, and to get out in the sun and fresh air.
My foot is well and truly supporting the nhs, with its full rainbow of colours - it has them all from red through to dark purple!

I decided to bite the bullet  and find some 'proper' workouts from old bodyrock ones that I wrote down aeons ago. Looking for non-leaping/skipping/lunging/getting-up-and-down-a-lot ones. I found a handful that need minimal adaptation so started with one this morning called Summer Abs. It was 5x 10 sandbag duck-unders (did squats) + 10 sandbag sit up (put it on lower legs) + 10 stability ball jack knife and push up (did belly blaster from push up position and kneeling push up) + 10 diagonal knee raise on the dip station (normal ones on a corner of the kitchen worktop). It took me 17m 35 to fin9sh 5 rounds, which I am very pleased with.
I'll see how my ankle responds to the exertion later on, I bet...

More online teaching and marking and chasing has been done.
As from Monday I will be doing it very differently. It should reduce my marking load and also the kids' workload... Although it will increase my prep time, that should easily be recouped from less marking... I am trialling it with my GCSE kiddies tomorrow - they are too honest to cheat!!!
Some seeds have been planted - I found some compost - yay - and the seeds are reaaaaallly old, so I bunged each packet into a pot in the hope that something might sprout. Basil, rocket and peppers and sweet peas. And some sunflower seeds got pushed into soil amongst the rasps.
The washing is blowing on the climbing frame as I speak - love being able to sit with the back door open.

It is a challenge that is a good challenge for me karma. I don't think I would ever have pushed myself to do it, but being forced to is a different matter. I have a colleague who is just Myrtle about every little thing (Moaning Myrtle from HP) which is draining, but I am just getting my head down and getting on with it. It is as enjoyable as you make it! And as for chasing up work, well I get most of it with a reminder email sent, and after that I can just email parents.... Mwa ha ha!

Latest info mentioned June 1st at the earliest for returning to the classroom... As far as I'm concerned, it lasts as long as it needs to and I will do my best to deliver the best that I can whether I'm face to face in a room, voice-to-voice online or in a written format via email.

I am coping better with all the pinging of emails this week (maybe because I've not had as much work sent to me!!!) and know that I could turn it off, but I quite like the sense of 'No, I'm on a break, that can wait' and the power I have!

    Anyhow, I'm wittering on ...
I have done another Bodyrock workout this morning, which needed less modifying. My ankle is less rainbow-y and more purple and green now. The green I associate with dinoasaurs, so I feel like I'm wearing a dino sock!

Another bodyrock workout done - sandbag squats, knee hugs, kneeling push ups, 1-leg lift and toe touches, and sandbag clean and press. 15 minutes' worth of it.
Dd has had a pretty good day, lesson-wise. It's annoying to be inside in such lovely weather, but school has to come first...
Only had to write to one parent in the end, and it sounds like they believe whatever their child says: he didn't understand the instructions, poor thing! So I sent the parents a copy of the instructions so they could see how simple they were. Things like 'match up', 'copy out' 'find'. Sooo tricky, eh? [insert a whole batallion of rolly eye smilies here...]
I'm rather glad that I didn't make 'big plans' for during lockdown, as I'm not really having much extra time on my hands. :)
Can't believe my ankle injury was 2 weeks ago. My how time flies...

I see all these posts on various platforms where people say they're getting X, Y and Z done and I think 'if only...!' (although, tbf, this week I *have* finally managed some out-of-the-norm stuff - but no major projects/ self-bettering going on here!! :D
