Glad work is done for the week. It has been yet another really soggy day and I got wet and chilled. I'm so grateful I have a place to dry off, change and warm up.
I took myself to the gym today and did my workout. I fear that I may be turning into a peacock myself, as I find that I push myself so much more when I'm there!!
Dd is struggling at the mo, so I'm not going to visit mum tomorrow. It has been a very long time since my last visit, but dd has to be my priority.
Dd and I went to a careers convention at her school this evening, which was interesting.
I've been planning another residential to Paris, but had a v low number take it up, so we'll have to call it off. We are a v small school and there's a ski trip next Easter that costs around £1100, and many kids are committed to that, and parents just don't have the money for another trip. (Though mine was nowhere near that amount!) I may try to arrange one for the October after the ski trip (ie 2021); or try to get permission for one in the summer term; or revert to doing lots of day trips...

Had to take dd to school on the car again - she'd left her bus pass in the trousers she wore last night, and I'd put them in the wash!
After dropping her off, I went to icyland, then the newsagent's, then aldee for foodbank items which I dropped off at sainz, then did a sainz shop for dd, then paid money in to dd's savings, then visited the libraray. Then came home!

Did a KB workout this morning - it's good to be able to do them.
Took dd to dance and made more budgie bodies and heads whilst watching Strongman's Champions League in Serbian!
Have rediscovered TED talks, so that'll keep me entertained for a while. Quite a long while.
I ate really badly yesterday so have made more of an effort today to not be stupid. I think I might have been successful!!

Took myself to the gym after the school run and had a hard session. Plus a bit more. Then popped to liddle for some bits and meandered home. Dh took the car for its MOT, which is passed with a couple of advisories. Dd and I went swimming at 5 ish - she had her lesson and I did 16 lengths. It was good to be able to get up and down the pool, as it's been so busy recently that it's been impossible to do more than half a length at a time.
Still playing the wait-and-see game with the pesky virus. It's amazing the impact it is having - unimaginable even 2 months ago.
I also forced myself to do 20 mins of weeding. The ground is nice and wet, so stuff comes up pretty easily at the mo.

My body is tired from all today's exercise!

Mum's care home have closed the doors to visitors. But the lovely lady from hom3 inst3ad is still allowed to visit - yay!
Plans are being put in place at work for if we have to close. I'm thinking that if schools close, there'll be a humungous use of tinterweb by millions of sch-age kiddies... Yikes...

    A good day at work.
A really good sesh at the gym (thinking I need to make the most of still being able to go there...) I do leave the gym feeling invigorated and fit. Then, somehow, I manage to catch sight of myself in a window/mirror and see the start reality of chubby middle age! Sigh. Maybe I need to keep my eyes fixed on the ground...

I had the urge to do some exercise today, but didn't want to leave the house for it, or use weights. So I did 100 burpees - full belly-down-hand-off-the-ground ones. Took me nearly 16 mins. Ooph.
The tulip bulb that I rescued (it was out of the soil) a few days ago seems to be rooting nicely.
Dinner is chicken drums and hm chips. Smells great.
Tomorrow's open morning is cancelled and, dedicated professional that I am, I'm very pleased to have my Sat back...
Had a good trip to the library and now have several new-to-me authors to peruse.

Got myself to town yesterday and chose some new spec frames. Came to £208. Gulp. I also paid in a cheque from hmrc for £238.10 so I'm £30.10 up! Collection is in a couple of weeks.
Dd had her usual dance classes yesterday so I wandered round about 5 ch shops and found nothing I needed. It feels good!
Dd had an extra dance rehearsal today so after dropping her off I went to the gym and did a tough session. One by Zuzka Light that she did for bodybuilding.com, so not for the faint-hearted! It was only 10 mins but I could not have done any more... I even dared to have a shower at the gym and it was slightly warm, which is a massive improvement on the cold-oh-so-cold it has been previously...
Dh mentioned that £land were having a big delivery today and he might pop up there tomorrow. I asked what for? And he didn't know! I think he feels more than me the urge to go and buy food/stuff, just in case it goes... He bought 2 tins of soup and some pasta the other day - why???? They ALL contain gluten. I'll be handing those over to our neighbour soon...

  • Apple Muncher I had to stop by as I’ve been a long time lurker (name change as I couldn’t for love remember the email/password from years ago) and wanted to say congrats you’ve done sooo well.

After a bit of advice as I see you as an expert. I’m now in a position to rate change from 2.55% to 1.57% (ATM) with same provider - bit of a fee but almost best 5yr fixed rate- question do you know how quick after the budget they change rates? It’s not changed yet, but the difference is £5 per day to me now. I don’t want to lock then the rates reduce. Always a gamble I know. The dilemma is on. I have until end of may before the 4% variable kicks in!

Ooh 'eck, I'm no expert! We have an offset mortgage (best thing eva) so I've not had to keep up with mortgage rates at all. Have you tried posting on the mortgage discussion board? I think that there's also a mortgage calculator thingy where you can input lots of variables.
    Good luck!
