Good to hear about dd, and I completely agree with you about using the time and not frittering it.

Dd got caught up on her geog hwk today and was mightily relieved to find out that it wasn't due last Friday, but today. Phew. She filmed herself experiencing an earthquake and then showing the contents of her 'go-bag' for such emergencies. She did really well!I did my kettlebell workout and started 10 mins of skipping only to be interrupted after 1 min by a du0 call from my friend out in Spain. A great interruption! She lives in a village just the other side of the river from the town and has some freedom but not much. She is not in one of the hotspots. Her 3 kids have 3 days with their dad/gma in a house with grounds and then 3 days with her in the flat! They are on their 3rd week of online learning and will have just 1 week off for Easter. It was so good to catch up with her although the time lag was tricky - so not used to them anymore!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Well, that's that for March. A unique month. I garnered 23 nsds, 22exercise sessions, 30 headspace sessions, got the ok for my hernia surgery recovery, started learning to teach online, improved my french and spanish by reading their online papers. What about April? I've set the NST challenge but it was very difficult to do. Some have jobs and pay; some don't. Some have savings and can pay for food, bills, etc; others aren't so fortunate. Some love being quiet and having space (me!me!me!); others need a lot of human contact.I think that Boris was right to talk about 12 weeks early on, as it mentally prepared us for the long haul. In France they were told 2 weeks, and then had it extended another 2 weeks, which must be super hard as you think the end is coming but it gets put back. If we start to return to 'life' earlier than 12 weeks, then we will be happy. If it takes longer than 12, we'll all have been able to see it coming. Well, it makes sense in my head!Back to April. Not the usual list of numbers for me this time... More a wish list or a ooh-I've-time-to-get-that-done-no-excuses list...-learn to use micr0s0ft team confidently-plan and deliver good quality lessons after Easter-get a list of tasks to do in the house room by room, in the garden, for work, for myself. And do them!!!-exercise daily (yup, have taken measurements again and it's still not pretty) and eat well-keep in touch with people-get needlefelting-do a 1000 piece jigsaw that's been lurking for far too long-have funNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!4

Fun is good! I've found two online activities that made me "ooh" instead of "I should do that", so I'm happy
(library membership of Family Search is extended to people in lockdown, temporarily, and the Royal Academy of Dance is holding online classes for 55+)!

Cor. Went to sainz today. The one that we drive to cos it has dd's food there. Limited to 3 of each item, which was a pain. BUT just as we were told that at the till, a friend walked past and she paid for those items where we'd got too many. What a blessing! And the till lady was gluten intolerant so she totally understood why we wanted what we wanted. And dd was happy that we got most of it - she does worry about her food running out. Though she only has to look in the cupboard to realise that that's not going to happen for a while! And the queuing to get in! It went all around the car park and out of the entrance road, all spaced at a good 2m apart. I'm so glad that it was sunny.Dh meanwhile, went to aldee and had it even worse as he was waiting even longer than us (only 2 tills open) and was waiting in the shade, poor thing. We were even able to pick him up on our way home. So, we are once again sorted for food and loo roll! Phew.I have caught myself up on last week's work - chasing up, marking, returning work. It's a long process. So I'm happily re-thinking how to improve it for next term. For everybody - more variety for the pupils, more streamlined for marking for me.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

ZCUT kettlebell workout #9 done and dusted with my 8k KB. I've also dug over and weeded part of the back garden (prob only 4'x8') and kind of contructed a sort of potato patch using old bricks and wood we had. It's not pretty but it has 10 tatties in it, all ready to grow... I hope.

Achieving a food source for the future with your exercise is a great thing! And wow to all the queuing, I'm glad you sorted it between you and OH. Plus its fascinating to hear the way you need to adapt the marking/ chasing up all of that, your people are lucky to have you.

Thank you, Karma. And now, we're moving to using microsoft teams. Yikes. It's not as intuitive as I'd like and I keep getting stuck/lost in it! Ah well, it's the system I need to learn, so learn I shall. I think we're using them because we use 0utl00k for sch emails and it is connected to that. Also, it has to be a system that teachers and pupils can use easily without any face-to-face training, as we're all at home.Anyhow, I have a practice session this morning so we'll see how I get on...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

The practice session revealed a need to ...practice!I uploaded some scanned textbook pages and listening clips for y7-9 to the shared area, which is a job well done in preparation for next term. In fact, it is mostly well done by dh who did the scanning and ripping for me...!! I just got the glory job at the end. Total goal-hanger, that's me!Did zcut kettlebell #10. No gardening as I was quite achey from yesterday and dh was out at church so my plan to tackle the compost bin has had to wait - I think it's a 2-person job really, and dd wasn't volunteering for it...I have managed to find not only a list of many many freeletics workouts, but also a 15 week plan. Tempting...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

The timer got set for 30mins. Out came the tarpaulin, spade, fork and bucket. On went the gloves and crocs. Then into the compost bin I delved... It has a 'door' at the bottom so you get the really composted stuff out first. Dh saw me from the kitchen window and came out to help - yay! That greatly reduced the time it took to get the compost out of the bin and on to the bit of soil I'd dug over the other day. What a joy! No, I mean it! A whopping great big pile - in my eyes -of composted garden waste. It's not good enough for seeds but the garden will love it. And there is loads of space in the bin for all the weeds that have thrived and need to be de-thrived.A thought - does compost from diy stores count as 'essential'. You could argue that it enables growing food, I guess. And is required for MH wellbeing...Anyhow, tis a job well done. So now I can sit back and watch Strongman Champions League (again!).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2
