Twelve weeks is a madly long time to be inside, isn't it ... but I've now seen some of the recent footage filmed inside the hospital at Bergamo, and its very, very sobering.  I know what you mean about a cough ... I've had a tiny little twice a day cough for weeks, utterly unmemorable (and worse when I haven't had a cuppa tea) but I do wonder how its perceived by other people (which was mostly on board the ship, as I've been pretty much self isolating since I got home).

It has been mooted at work (from the minutes of the meeting - I wasn't there) that we may need to cut some teaching hours next year, due to falling numbers. Fine, it happens. And it is the part-timers who would lose hours. Now, this may be because I'm a part-timer, but it does not seem fair to cut the hours/pay of those on less than others, as proportionally it is a lot more than reducing the full-timers...? I've mentioned it to dh, so if it happens then we are not too shocked.
So me + my other part-time French buddy were looking at increasing our hours next year, with some A level teaching split between us. If we are now able to have the same as this year, I think we will be very happy and relieved.
In the meantime, frugal living continues...

Karma - keep supping your cuppas!

Boy was I all worn out yesterday from teaching 'online' - the constant ping of email notifications, as that was how they pupils communicated with me, was so intrusive and wearing. And, to a certain extent, it carried on today (a day when I don't work, ha ha), as I tried to chase up the non-working-ones... However, it was great to see what the kids did, and to be able to reply to them individually and give comments on what they had done. I had a good smattering of 'thank you, miss!' when I'd praised their work, which was lovely.
Dh is ripping the cds for me, so I hope to be able to attach sound files if we still need to do this after Easter, as my ks3 kids can't access the text book online. I should probably search out some utube clips to use too.
I made use of my 8k kettlebell today and completed ZCUT #1. But at a  v e r y  v e r y  measured pace. I'm still not fully functioning, pesky chesty thingy. Possibly not helped by me dustpan-and-brushing the dining room floor, and creating a mini dust storm...
Today's washing mostly dried outside on the climbing frame :)
Dd has her school lessons in 'real time', along with tutor time in the morning. So she is busy and can't wait for the weekend already.
Dh has been mad busy with getting church things edited, uploaded, filmed... But the new restrictions mean that that will change, and hopefully other people will do the bulk of the work now.
Enough waffling. Time to switch off and go read a book.

I have another load of washing on the climbing frame today. As it dries, it gets blown around more easily so I have to do various trips out to rehang items. It's nice in the sun!
Dh's toaster blew a fuse this morning, so he now has to go through a right rigmarole to toast his bread under the grill whilst not spilling a crumb that might contaminate it for dd+ me! He's unlikely to find a replacement any time soon...
He has just got back from stocking up dd's foods, and went to aldee too. Bless him, they were only letting in a few people at a time and he has done a comprehensive shop. Only what we use, mind!
Dd is on her last lesson of the day. i've had much less pinging cos I think I set more work to be done, so it's taking the pupils longer...

Currently watching pro bull riding from Duluth, in an empty arena. Except that the camera people are all clustered together. And the teams helping the rider get sat right on the bull are all over each other...Hmmm. not quite got the hang of social distancing yet...

Oh my!  I was just watching Tony Robinson on a trip round the world, herding bulls in the Camargue (filmed last year, at least) - no need for social distancing in those far off days.

The weather has shifted just a tad. Hail. Plenty of it. And a very cold blowy wind. But dd and I still went out for a walk and enjoyed it. She took her phone and a couple of sylvanians and took plenty of pics.
I did another bucketful of weeding at the front this morning, while we still had bits of sunshine. I saw various neighbours, which was good, and one was going shopping and got us some veggies. I also finally planted the hydrangea I bought last year and almost killed about 4 times...
I got the next kettlebell workout done - at a very measured pace, and with about 100 steps between each exercise. That plus the walk with dd have helped me get to 7k+ steps today so far.
I am contemplating buying in to freeletics while I can't use the gym...
Dd is unwell and has a cough. Previously, it would have been a case of give her some calpol and make sure she drinks a lot. Now, it's a case of  keeping a very close eye on every nuance and change...

What a scary time for a child to develop a cough.  I hope all's well, do post asap.

Dd had a good night - only came into see me once at midnight, and that was to ask for some water. She has a bottle in bed with her, so I took her back, she drank some of it, and was asleep before I left the room! She slept until 9.30 today, and I expect her to be quite up and down throughout the day. But that is better than just going downhill!
I am trying to learn about z00m, for if we use that teaching platform next term. It really doesn't seem likely that we'll be going back after the hols, so I want to get a bit ahead. I've started compiling lists of applicable utube clips to use too.
This enforced quarantine is a good opportunity in so many ways (as long as we are well) so I don't want to fritter it away and regret not doing things when the time was there.
