Oops. Used weights for the 2nd round of my workout. Cos I was feeling so good! And because I'd been able to do almost-proper jumps in the warm-up... I used 2x 3K dumbells, so not toooo much. And none of the exercises I did were ab ones... But we'll see how sensible I was...

The gym was packed so I asked the instructor where I could set up with a mat and he said that if there wasn't a class on, then I could use the studio. Bliss. Mats, skipping ropes, dumbells (up to 5k), barbells and weights, swiss balls and a wall of mirrors. And NO blaring music. Absolutely wonderful.

The kids thought that the Fire inspector people were the Police!!!! No bad thing... And we did really well both with the denominational inspection and the fire compliance. Phew!

My classes were really lovely today. I was expecting the Head to 'pop in' to observe me, and told the kids this so that we were all prepared. But no need! She may well see me tomorrow... but I only teach my lovely y11s and a y5 class.

Dd skipped her rehearsal yesterday (I back her totally for why) so she could go to her swim class, and she got moved up :T. She needed to get a sense of having some control over what she does, as she is extremely fed up with the Show teacher and would almost give it up at the mo... (She won't because the show starts tomorrow!!! But she is honestly wondering how she will get through 4 performances over 3 days. So am I!)

And she is STILL getting a fair amount of hwk, which seems to be really unfair... I always cut the performance kids some slack at my place and would expect others to do the same. To that end, dh is drafting a letter to the Head of Year as I am too cross to be polite :rotfl:.

To help her get the hwk done, I took the photos today for her art hwk; I have also done her BIDMAS maths (with a smidge of help from her...) so she can just copy it up. Then she has to re-send an essay as the instructions for what to do with it got changed AFTER the deadline. Plus the English catch-up work as she missed the lesson because she was rehearsing all day - this is the most unfair, I feel.

Anyhow, I am a most miffed apple at the mo!:rotfl: (But only about the above)

Got myself another NSD but may go to liddle tomorrow for dried mango, cottage cheese and tinned tuna. I know how to live!

Thank you karma! The English teacher has set an assessment for Friday's lesson. Slap bang in the middle of the production. Why???? The email to the English teacher and the head of year has been duly sent.

I shall stop being miffed now and settle to snooze soon.

Not impressed with the replies we got . But at least we did get replies. Maybe we just won't bother them with our concerns next time, eh, cos they're not doing anything wrong....

Anyhow, dd got to bed at 11pm last night as she only got out from the show at 10.15. Ugh all round. Same again tonight I think, but at least she can sleep in tomorrow.

Ah, you have my sympathies - DS2's school do 2 lots of shows per year(not incliding the drama/ dance/ music performances at other times...)  - one in Sept and one July (both mandatory for some years but expected for almost everyone - if not performing then as back up/ crew/ tech crew) - 10pm or later  finishes Tues/ Weds or Weds/ Thurs (depends which show) with many children living an hour or so drive away...,. The Y7's have to do the Sept show and have only just got their heads around secondary school and then get this in the last week of Sept - poor things end up shattered. However, they do go off timetable for practicing these 2 sets of shows, so there's no class/ homework to do.  It's very hard on them :( (and on us as parents!!)

    xx

Dd is just about to start the final performance. Phew. Dh is watching tonight so he will bring her home, and I have a strangely empty and quiet house all to myself until about 10.15... I am glad we live so near the school as there was only 1 hour between the previous show ending and the pupils having to return for the final one. But it meant she got to eat a decent meal and watch utubey stuff and chat with us for a bit.  I am also glad that we have a car as we couldn't have done it on the buses.

Have done an aldee shop with dh today - I still need him to push the trolley and carry bags if I buy more than just a few bits. I've tried to needlefelt a squirrel - dd thinks it 'sort of' looks like one. Gee thanks! And I've enjoyed the rugby matches. Not really a productive day (also got some washing done though) but we did all get plenty of sleep last night which was much needed. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Dh has to go to church for something and dd and I will go if she wants to. However, she has to do her English assessment + Eng hwk + finish her Town project +then try to get ahead on other hwks...

I had some extra teaching today, which went well. I got to know a class that I've never taught, which is always good. And obviously, earned some extra pennies.

We went to dd's sch at the end of the day to see all the cities on display. It was impressive.

Dd had her first class in the higher swim class, which is 45mins instead of 30. She is knackered! But it gave me time to do a workout. I avoided the gym and used the studio - no music, a full-length mirror, and the usual mats, swiss balls, db up to 6k, barbells and weights (they're pink, purple and blue but I think you could get a fair weight on there), skip ropes. Much nicer.
