Thanks karma - the websites all suggest '1-2 weeks' of this, that and the other. So I'm just going to try to be sensible and use common sense.
    You're welcome :)
Anyhow, I'll find someone more knowledgeable than me to look at it and let me know what to do...:D
Dead right too! They deal with this stuff all the time.

    Sleep well :)

Oooh - glad it's all done - well, not all if they only did 1/3.... but presumably the worst one? Definitely keep taking the painkillers! - they don't give you them for no reason, after all! And don't push yourself to do too much too soon. And def see someone about healing/ care/ wound re-dressing.. xx

I have been out of the house...It's good and frosty and beautifully sunny out there, so getting out was a must. I have walked more already today than the last 2 days combined. Happy.

The walk gave me jelly legs for the rest of the day. Oops! I have to get to the dr today (assuming I can be seen) re the dressing, so I'll be out and about but trying to take it easy...

Dh has managed to track down my fit note. It is for 2 weeks and I must admit to being relieved that it takes the decision out of my hands. It is one of the 'you cannot go back for 2 weeks' ones.

The nurse is happy with my wound and talked me through some of the paperwork I had. She also reinforced the need to take the 2 weeks fully. And ask for more if needed.

And there was me, back in Dec, thinking I'd only need a couple of days off...:rotfl:

    I have been busy today.

Dh dropped me off at my counsellor's and I was then going to get buses home as he was needed at work. But I only had to get 1 bus as he finished up easily and came to get me :D. We then did a small aldee shop.

I got a wash done - though dh brought the box of wet clothes upstairs for me.

Did some painting on dd's model city.

Took dd to and from the orthodontist on the bus. It all went very well and stage 1 of her treatment is underway.

Made dd's tea; made our tea; helped with angles hwk.

No painkillers required. 7600 steps. Hope to sleep well :D.

So, as well as my own sleeping issues since the op, dd came in to our room at 2am having 'lost' part of the gizmo in her mouth. How??!!!??? So I went and had a quick look in her bed but she was almost comatose so I left her to sleep and said we'd look in the morning.

Morning arrived and we searched high and low, stripped the bed, turned all pillowcases inside out. To no avail. It had disappeared as if by magic. Then dh came back - at dd's request - and he managed to find it. Under her high-up bed, about halfway along on the floor. How did it get there???!!!???

Anyhow, we are much relieved that it had been found :D.

Midnight, dd calls me, having had a bad dream. 4.45am she calls again, in pain from the gizmo. So I get her some ibu and she removes it for the rest of the night. 5.50am dh's alarm goes off. Sigh.

However, my secret mission for the day has been accomplished :T. I have been to they gym. Shhhh. :rotfl: I used the super duper measuring machine - and remembered to take some photos of the screens this time. And stretched. And did some bodyweight exercises for 14 mins. Then bought some liquid nur0fen for dd and a couple of liddle items (not supposed to do shopping, but it wasn't much), came home and had a lovely bath.

Now to spend some time lounging on the sofa...
