Ooh. Oooh. Ooooh. Just watching a recorded Twinstitute and they are using the same super duper measuring machine as in my gym!

    Sleep is for wimps.

I want to be a wimp.

Got dd into bed by 8.50, as she was just so tired and a bit snotty.

Expecting dh home by 10 at the latest, he appeared at about 10.30, came upstairs, and went downstairs and out again. He'd written a note to put on the windscreen of the car of the twerp who had decided to park their car in front of our garage (not an official parking spot - only used by the owners of the garages) so he had nowhere to park and had to go off the immediate estate. To unwind, he sat reading on his tablet for a bit.

Dd cried out at 11 or 12 - I can't recall exactly - as she was feeling so unwell.

At 2.30am dd came to see us, having hot/cold sweats. So I put her in my side of the bed, collected some duvets and fleecy blankets and pillows and slept on the floor (just as well I'm healing up so well; it's a tight spot for turning over, so the initial swing-arm-and-corresponding-leg-over-to-the-side-you-want-to-turn-to manoeuvre wouldn't have worked without causing serious damage to either me or the furniture).

Dh got up at 5.45 and headed out for work. I let him go.

Dd got up at 8.08. Still v snotty and with a temp. Needless to say, she's not at school today.

Happy days in the apple house!

She's really got a bad dose of it, hasn't she :( and you're suffering too. The quicker it goes, the better. Good luck with it.

Dh slept on the floor last night. He said he was getting up, but that was about an hour ago and there's no sign of him yet... I suspect he's crawled in to the bed and is dozing...

Dd finally managed to get to sleep at about 1am... Ugh. She is a total duvet thief too! I reckon I got decent sleep for several hours. But I want more!!!

Another stay-at-home day ahead. Trying to get hwk done... So pleased that I'm still signed off.

Thank you for the well wishes. I think dd is finally on the up, albeit ever so slightly... If she can sleep well tonight, then we'll all feel better tomorrow..

Some more model city was accomplished today, and a wash, and 2 bits of hwk, and watching a documentary video of Bethnal Green in the 50s or 60s for history. And I even did the same exercises that I did 2 days ago at the gym.

Thank you, karma, we did. Phew! dd was in her own bed all night, waking up around 8.45. She is much improved today but I'm prob keeping her off tomorrow as well... She is currently outside taking photos of potential fairy locations/homes for her Midsummer's night dream hwk. The fresh air is doing her some good. Plus she adores taking photos.

We watched a prog about volcanoes this morning (guatemala and hawaii) - interesting and educational as she's studying them in geog.

Since then, it's been treehouses, barnwood builders, alaska stuff. Love it - from the comfort of my snug lounge and sofa!

It was good to give dd one more day to recover. I took her up to c0sta - we started off talking about walking there and back, but ended up using the buses! We also visited icyland and got some ch thighs, which did a yummy tea with 10 left over (I'd thought we'd have 2 each, but we just had 1) and 6 still frozen.

Much hwk has been done or progressed, and I've been in touch with work about a few things. Technically, I shouldn't, as I'm signed off. But life isn't like that, is it? And I consider things like the y9 options evening (which I'll miss) and the y11 gcse entries deadline to be pretty high up on the priority list.

We had to get a wiggle on for our bus out this morning, and although I wiggled along holding my hand over the incicion, it was not comfy and has whinged at me for the rest of the day. At least I've learned that I'm defo not ready for jumping, skipping, running about. I'm going to give myself Feb to gently recover before trying anything even slightly strenuous, which'll take me nicely up to 6 weeks post-op.

Made myself a version of 'nakd' bars today - zapped cashews and brazils, sultanas and dates, some of that strawb protein powder and about 6 frozen rasps to bind ittogether. Made 11 little balls of yumminess.

Have filled in and sent back my offer of work for marking one component this summer. They still like me :rotfl:!

Sent dd to school today :T
Did a sainz shop using 6 off 30 voucher :T (Tho it proved that 'they' were right about not carrying anything over 10lbs - I was v careful with the buys!)
Tidied up a lot of small cardboard boxes we had accumulated for crafting makes. Some were very old... :T
Dh hoovered downstairs :T (A friend of dd is coming home with her after school)
Did my bodyweight exercises again :T
    Sent some work-related emails :T
Sorted through more magazines that can go - and they make interesting reading too - the suitable ones get to stay a bit longer... :T
