Ooh, but it was good to sleep in my own bed. And sleep all the way through the night.

I woke at 6.30 (why???) so I got up and did my usual morning stuff.

And my workouts: 2x 5min. Ooph.

I've been researching the IOW, specifically Ryde area, as we don't want to spend 5-6 days there and only go round the ch shops and end up in coffee shops. We're staying in a tiny place where our bed is a fold-down-from-the-wall one in the lounge, plus a bunkbed room for dd, and we'll need to get out!!!

So, as well as visiting sdd1 + gs twice (involving a bus journey, so prob accounting for half a day or so each time- they're staying with her mum (ie dh's ex) so we won't want to impose too much...) and seeing my cousin (another half day?)... I've thought about sea swimming (brrr), pool swimming, bike hire, SUP, tree climbing. They mostly cost. Quite a lot! The OS map doesn't seem to show a huge amount of footpaths, but I might just need to look a bit more closely... Maybe we should venture over to the Needles?

    Much to ponder :D

Off for my brekkie. There's no sound from the sleeping beauties so I'll leave them a little longer...

Do you check trip advisor, apple? I always find there's lots free on there :)

Glad you had such a good sleep.

Hi Karma, yes I do usually look on there, thanks. We're a little limited as we'll be reliant on buses. It's more to have ideas for if the weather turns nasty. If it's dry, we'll be outside more easily, and will potter along more happily.

Discovered onthe way back from church that they are closing the ONLY road out of our estate from 8am - 5pm tomorrow. To re-surface it by the look of the machinery that is parked up. So any out and abouting will involve walking or bussing. Dd will no doubt wish to swim. And we do rather need a food shop...

I have done my 2x 5min workouts and then felt like going for a run. So I did! Not far, not fast, not pretty. But I did it! And dd and I are going for a swim soon. Ooph!

The roadwork people have indeed closed the road. But they haven't told the bus company... I foresee a little chaos, with people at bus stops waiting for buses that can't get there...

We'll be catching a different bus!

Thank you. The buses are fine round here, esp as I have an app that give me current times. how did I ever live without it?!

But we did get soaked on the way there. Ugh. No need to go swimming! I spent a good 10 mins with the hair dryer nozzles down trouser legs trying to dry them out, to no avail... So once home, we changed and dd has on her warm Cmas leggings and is under a fleecy blanket!

My extra work has finally arrived. I had to poke them about it as the deadline is in 3 days. Apparently it was sent out on Sat.. Nope. Only certain admin-type files, not what I actually needed to do. Anyhow. I now have it and can potter on with it, albeit deliberate pottering. Nowt whimsical or dilly-dally about it...

Supposed to be going up to the library this afternoon. Am still feeling a tad bedraggled and wimpish so may just renew them all online and go tomorrow!

I might just have definitly overdone it today... Getting drenched was the worst bit, esp as my hair always takes so long to dry after swimming anyway and I have felt soggy all day.

I'm so grateful to dh who, after going out and doing 4 hours work, then had a late lunch, then went and did a biggish food shop in the car, then came back and took dd to the library on the bus there and walking home, and then he cooked chili for tea. He can stay!

I've done 15/50 of the extra work. Not too shabby. I'd like to do 20 tomorrow but will need to be very organised as we are going uniform shopping (for the non-posh, non-branded items) in the morning and I have a hosp appt check in the afternoon. Big sis was asking if she could pop by around lunch time, as she's in the area but I had to say no as I can't give times for us being home and I think she'd arrive just as I go to the hosp... Dh will have to take dd to her swim class and I'll do a sainz shop on my way back from the hosp.

The forecast is dry. I do hope it's correct...

Slept like a log, which was good. But still woke up just after 6 and was up by quarter past. So I did my usual morning stuff and started working.

Woke a very sleepy dd at 8 and she did really well to be ready to go out by 8.45. We had a good time uniform shopping and found everything we had on the list in just 2 shops. Although we spent about £100. Eek.

My hosp appt went fine. I was early and they saw me early. Wow! I also took a bag to the sally army shop there, and didn't buy mohair wool (for felting) or a button box knitting case full of its contents in other charity shops. Nor did I do a sainz shop as they had NO plain white gf bread on the shelves. So I got me an NSD! I might try Sainz again tomorrow...

Managed to complete another 20/50, so am now up to 35 and plan to finish tomorrow.

Dd had a random friend call round, which was lovely. She's getting rather fed up with us grown-ups...

I want to get things out of the house tomorrow - at least 2 bags to the sally army and lots of books to oxfam. Putting all the dry washing away would be good. And doing the final 15/50. Photographing the futon (once cleared of al the gubbins we've put on top of it) would be a bonus. And a sainz shop. And collect + return a playdate child. And do a workout (have had a day off today)....

    Thus far I have:
-done ZCUT kettle bell workout #1
-taken 3 bags to the Sally Army
-taken 1 box of books to Oxfam
-done a quick liddle shop for items we only get from there (and as a bonus, discovered that they now do 85% choc instead of 81%. Yum!)
    -done 2/15 work
-tried to dodge the worst of the rain...

Now for a coffee and work...

I're read up a little on Miss Read and am very happy to be mentioned in the same sentence as her :D.

Finished my 15/15, uploaded what I needed to upload and posted what I needed to post :T.

Found myself a pair of walking sandals in the SA this morning, plus a lovely butterfly brooch for mum - I think we had similar ones when I was little. Only paid £1 total, as I used £8 credit. The managers in both the SA and Oxfam were lovely people, they made us feel so special and good for donating.

Picked up dd's playdate and kept her for a few hours then fed her and took her back. They had a great time together and the time just flew by. I got to felt a polar bear whilst they were playing. I'm rather pleased with the result as I only had a picture to copy. And I made it from stuffing and some big chunky wool for the hat and scarf, so it cost nothing (apart from a few drops of blood when I needle felted my fingers...).

I didn't put the washing away, photo the futon or get to sainz. Guess what? I don't care! Maybe tomorrow...

Tomorrow is dh's bday so we'll make him breakfast in bed before going to my dr appt (blood results) and then sainz. Will pick him up some chocs and dd will look for a toy for him in sainz. We'll make him a cake and prob celebrate at lunch time.
