Yay ! to a much better night's sleep.
We trundled off to ride some bikes today, along the Monsal Trail and back. The weather was fair and we had a great time. The cafe where we stopped for lunch had a good selection of gf/df cakes, and wasn't v expensive, which was rather amazing! We totalled 15 miles, so that is my exercise for the day.
And since getting back, we have vegged out. Reading, tv, needle felting - I'm trying to do a hare, but it looks more like a dog/ cat/ mole so far.. oops. I'm probably too much of a novice to be trying to do things freestyle...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
This morning's quest was to find white pipe cleaners. And we were successful :T. We also found some 'arm knitting' wool which will needle felt v nicely.
We might also have popped in to all the ch shops we could find...Dd got jeans, a tee-shirt, a couple of books and a couple of syl fam figures. I found a blouse for mum.
Then we had scones, etc at the Hydro. They cater v well for allergic people, and it's clearly part of what they do, so is v natural to them. And yummy too.
I have given up on the hare I was trying to felt. And have instead made some baby owls.
And at 4pm, I suggested we go and see Solomon's folly - only 1 mile away. Easy there-and-back, no? We left the house and hadn't gone 50 yards when the rain started so we scooted back and got our waterproofs. We got to the top amd back down the steepest parts and then the heavens opened. We were all drenched, and wading through the torrents flowing down the roads, and dd learned why you don't wear jeans to go walking:rotfl:.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
That sounds like a wonderful day, really brilliant2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Can't predict the weather at the moment. Hope dd has dried out now!
Poor syl fam figure, glad you managed to get some replacements.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Today has beena much drier day but we've not done much. We pottered down to the pool and all went in for a swim, which was nice. We then washed all the swim stuff, so had even more things to get dry! Yesterday's 3x jeans were still extremely damp, despite hanging overnight in the bathroom that has underfloor heating. Dh has had the gas fire going for ages, and we've been draping things over the ironing board. I think we'll be all caught up by the morning...
Dd is planning to use pipe cleaners and needle felting to re-build her Syl fam critter...
Needle felting... I've made 4 baby owls and 2 mice so far. I used the 'arm-knitting' wool and it worked a treat! Am chuffed that we already have 2 ways to save £££ on the hobby.
We popped down to yet another charity shop, but this one specializes in sporting items. I got a pair of knee length lycras for just 1.45. And dd claimed some zip-off-at-the-knee walking trousers, more trainers and a horsey hoodie for a friend.
We have a walk planned for tomorrow which will do us good. I've not done a workout today as my legs were just so heavy coming back from swimming.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
You didn't do much??? You should possibly re-read your own post :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well done you!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Why thank you Karma! We did also seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on our tablets or trying to find something of worth to watch on netfl1x. At least we know that it's not worth getting it!
Today I have already disposed of a big spider - I think it was the slightly smaller brother of the one I disposed of from dd's room a few days back.
And I have done my 2x 5min workouts, so I'm feeling good!
But nauseous too. Ugh. I think the swimming has affected my ears as I could only sleep with my head to one side in the night and having it on the 'wrong' side made me feel like throwing up. And I don't even fancy my morning coffee - yikes! Today's walk should be just the right thing.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Love reading your diary. Its so 'cosy' and reminds me of a Miss Read novel for some reason.
I have netfix and use it for serials and have found it really worth the small amout it costs each month. But if I was better at finding things on TV and remembering to record them I could probably save the money!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
You're welcome, apple
I'm going to get netflix when my tv licence has run out - I have a few problems with various political issues on the beeb, and I'm going to do without for a few months. Trouble is, I'll have to get it back in time for the second half of Strictly!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm not gonna tell dh about all you pro-netfl1x people! It is to be used for glitterforce for our time here. If you dare to look it up, you might understand why I've been trying to ration dd to just 1 episode a day...
We are back from our little stroll out and about :rotfl:. About 6.5 miles, 95 floors, 15.5k steps. And very up and then very down. We ended up back at Solomon's tower and stopped there for lunch knowing it was just 1 more mile to get back, and most of that was downwards. I love OS maps, but we really were grateful for the detail and complete up-to-dateness of dh's GPS and the Osram (?) app...
Watty - I'm going to look up Miss Read novels!
Talking of books, we need to go out later, as dd has finished all of her reading material. The nearby ch shop has 4 for £1 so we'll go there...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
