Time off is always good! Sounds like you're going to take proper advantage of that for once, good news.

Am all arrived and in my jamas in a dry Manchester. It was so funny at Euston as when the platform was announced, about half the people on the concourse legged it towards the gates! I kept to a more sedate fast walk, trying not to trip people up, and still bagged myself a seat on a very full train - it's the first off-peak one, so everyone wants it.

The day at work was rather hard, as it rained so much the pupils were cooped up all day. However, I got done what I needed to and the rest'll wait until Thurs.

I hope to use the gym tomorrow morning. My meeting starts at 10am, and is about 15 mins walk away, so I reckon I've plenty of time to sweat, shower and eat my brekkie beforehand.

Off to peruse my magazine. Luxury!

I did indeed go to the gym this morning, and did ZCUT KB #1 using 2x 6k dumbells.

The meeting was fine. The lunchtime food was yummy. And their gf dessert was like melt-in-the-mouth choc orange. Scrumptious!

I then trotted off to Stockport. Where it pelted down. And the walk was 35+ mins from the stn to the house. I 'felt' the recognition of the street and I was able to take a photo of the house - I reckon it's still the same garage behind it! I have a postcard with 5 pics on it, 3 of which I found and took my own photo of. And I took an extra photo of the hedge where I found a 'gold' watch when I was 4 or 5. So I am very very glad that I made the effort to go.

However... even dh's goretex waterproof coat was not waterproof enough in the end. Just on the nape of the neck. So by the time I was back at the station, I was both soggy and chilled. And now, an hour later, I'm still cold, even with the bedspread draped over me! Brrr. I may just get into bed...

I hope you *did* get into bed there and then, apple. The trip sounds great - I went to see the first house I remember as a child in Liverpool, a lovely solid end-of-terrace, and I wanted to see the back entry, which all the back doors of the yards opened on to, but it was gated off (to prevent drug abusers using it, sigh ....). House looked great tho! Hope you can get a bit more reading done today before plunging back into the busy-ness :)

I'm so pleased I made the effort to go, and then to wander up and down in the rain and take the photos. It was well worth getting cold and soggy for.

Today's meeting finished nice and early, and my trains all ran smoothly, but I still wasn't home until 6.15pm. Dh had cooked, so sausage and mash it was. Yummy.

And, during a break, I managed to slip on the dining area tiles and twist both knees and bruise the heel of my right hand. They did have a wet floor sign up; it was just one of those things. They brought me a massive load of ice cubes to put on my knee, as only 1 knee hurt at first. Then I realised that I'd also hurt the other one, so also used it on that one. Now that I'm home and I've had a chance to look, both knees are very swollen up and the right one won't bend much at all. We'll see what the morning brings... I'm only working half the day, so I should be able to manage it...

But before all that, I went back to the gym and did ZCUT kettlebell workout #3 with a 10k dumbell. And had breakfast with a friend I'd met at the meeting last year. We were nattering so much that we were almost late for the meeting!

I work with some adorable kids! One girl insisted on giving me a hug to help me feel better. They were all appropriately sympathetic on hearing why I was going soooo slowly and carefully.

Though both knees were rather ballooned up and achey this morning, they have eased up a little now. I have only done 4000 steps and 12 flights of stairs, which shows how careful I've been. I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm all tired out now and hope for a better night tonight.

No work tomorrow, but an ever-lengthening list... Nowt new there, then!

I have finished the bulk of what I had left from the hitches; just the last quarter left for tomorrow. Plus admin. And sch reports. And important emails. And washing. And getting to the post office.

    Simples...

    I slept sooo well.

I've done the PO run, sch reports, washing and important emails. And a little bit of the hitch.

    All good so far!
