Dd has moved up yet another stage to stage 5 in the pool. Not bad for someone who only learned to swim in October. :T
I had a good 1/2 day at work. A trip to Spain in Oct now isn't running, so I'm going to see if I can get one to Paris organised... I mentioned it to the year groups who'd be involved and they were pretty keen.
So I have to make sure I get my immediate admin sorted:
-y10 marking - about 40 mins left to do. (This can wait...)
-spend my dept budget by end of May. Except that's in half term, so need to do it asap, preferably by May 16th. I have the ideas and what I want from where, mostly. (rather urgent)
-do paperwork for a visit to Cafe rouge straight after half term - so all needs completing by May 17th. (Not quite so urgent as the budget. I think...)
-start Paris trip paperwork - trip proposal and initial letter by tomorrow! (Pretty urgent indeed!)
And teach 3 lessons...
And I'm off to bham fri-sat, so won't be able to get things done Friday daytime. Hmmm. Better get focussed tomorow.

I have had a good day
.
I teach some really good kids who just got on with practising their work, which allowed me to complete some paperwork.
Got the trip proposal signed by DH and handed to HT.
Spent most of the budget - left a bit of wiggle room in case I missed off some VAT on one order. According to my own notes, I know exactly how much I have left...
Marking still not done. Not urgent.
Much CR paperwork got started. Phew.
I did a tough workout - one that only hit me about 2 hours afterwards!
Planning brum trip. Staying in nice hotel and plan to use their gym. Their pool is v small and has lots of curves and only needs 2 other people in it to feel crowded. So I shall use the gym. Twice. Hopefully there are no full-length mirrors in there...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Sounds good, apple, and I'm glad you're staying in a nice hotel, that always feels special.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I am safely ensconsed in the aforementioned hotel:D. Took me a while to work out that you have to put the keycard in the holder to get the electrics to work. I was about to go down to reception...!
I got well and truly drenched on the way here. I decided to walk from the town, about 2 miles, and in my defense, it was not raining much when I started. But that quickly changed - but too late for me to then get here by another means - and I was dripping at the reception desk :rotfl:. Therefore, all my clothes, including the ones in my rucksack were wet to some degree. Ugh. I spread everything out over the bed, on hangers...
And went to use the gym. In slightly damp kit :rotfl:. It was also in use by several beefy blokes, but I had my corner, knew what I was doing, and just got on with it. Although I must confess to doing a double workout, as only doing an 11 minute one (plus warm up and cool down adding another 12-15mins) somehow didn't seem enough. Daft, eh?
And there were no full-length mirrors inthe gym, but the ones they had ran the width of 2 walls and they were big enough to not provide very pretty reflections... So I faced the other way :rotfl:.
I had a nice time with mum. She can't remember dad (which is actually a really very good thing indeed) very well, nor what he looked like, so I'll hunt out a nice photo of him for her.
I sorted out the BS paperwork - so glad I just went in to the branch to do it. When mum talks about her money and asks where it is and how to get to it, I tell her that I'm looking after it. And that settles her down completely. Phew.
And I visited a few ch shops and got myself some jeans - 3.50 - still a larger size than I want to wear, but I do need to have clothes that fit me now, and a top for work - 1.75, and a BNWT warm shirt for dh for his bday - 2.50.
I have eaten my tea and decided not to go and visit an old friend. I confess to being torn - I enjoy her company, and she likes mine. But my clothes are still drying out (especially my 'waterproof') and the thought of wearing dry-ish/damp clothes and shoes, and being caught in the rain again is not appealing.
Ooh, but I'm starting to really feel the effects of that workout. Or rather those workouts... I'm staying in !NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Have a soak in the bath and take advantage of some chill time.
There's no bath here ! Just a shower that ran v v cold then ran v v hot and I couldn't get it to alter. Tomorrow I'll use the swim pool showers. But I am chilling out on the bed, getting more and more horizontal...
Dd has very kindly informed me that doing 2 workouts plus walking over 17K steps does not qualify me for exercise 'credits'. She says the 2 extras were my choice. Harsh child :rotfl:.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: very harsh! But apart from not being able to control the temperature of your shower, it sounds a great visit2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I have ignored the child's 'suggestion' and am crediting myself. Ha to dd.
A mixed night. I think I was so worn out that I was quite twitchy. And kept waking up.
I left the hotel at 8.30, having realised that no way was I fit to go to the gym again! I walked up to the train stn and started home. Once I got to our 'local' stn, I took the tram for a couple of stops and walked to the ch shops near where dd does dance. I'd told her that I'd be back while she was at dance and I'd come to the hall. She was well happy to see me!
Got 2 items from the ch shops for £1 each. A tee shirt, which I've claimed, and an orange jumper thingy with a huuuge neck that I hope to pull apart for fox mitts. A bit of an experiment.
Got home to a box from a lovely mse-r, of clothes for dd. She had a great time going through them.

A good day has been had. I've become another year older (tho' the pedant in me would like to point out that there's still another 2 hours of being younger left...). Dh's cake - the one that I asked him if he'd made - he'd not even thought about making one - was delicious. Dd bought me some choc and gf cakes from the c00p using her own money. I got my copy of the tightwad gazette, so am looking forward to a browse of that later.
Dd has had a good day too, tho is getting anxious about her SATS . Gee thanks to the certain adults who really big them up... She's not mega-worried, it just comes back to her every so often.
Dh had bought some steak and he cooked it for tea. Sooo yummy. And it left no room for a second dose of cake...
I have started to stitch-rip the jumper's seams and already have a biggish ball of wool just from the cowl-ish style neck part. But I tried on the tee-shirt this morning and it just didn't fit right, so I'll revert back to plan A and dh can have it.
Am enjoying the peace and quiet of a Sunday evening before work. I'm expecting it to be rather busy busy busy once I get there. The last few weeks I've gone in all calm and serene and been thrown into higgledy-piggledy-ness within 20 mins. Not so tomorrow! Tomorrow I shall expect to end up with a mega massive to do list, so it can't surprise me! It's my manic Monday, plus I'm running listening tests with 3 classes. The tracks are all online, so let's hope t'interweb is working...
I did do a workout this morning, got showered and then came back to bed so that dh could give me breakfast in bed!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
