Thank you greent. I did! A solid 8 hours. Has done me the world of good.
Spent a lot of pennies on choc today, to take out for MIL. A box of creeeme eggs too - nowt like cadbry's, eh? Should keep her going for a while!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
My bestie lived in Texas for work for 3 years - all presents in that time involved Cadberrys to some degree
All visitors were also under instruction to take some out with them

A good day has been had.
Quick catch up with 2 friends at different points of the day; counselling + little run which enabled me to get an early bus and good 2nd bus connection; sainz + aldee to get things for MIL + dd (dh came up in the car to help carry, bless him); lovely yummy lunch out with friends at local harvester; swim with dd (her lesson was cancelled so we went and swam about anyway); and the rest of sunday's yummy steak is ready for dinner. I've zapped the veg, so just need dh to come home...
And dd has sorted through her tatty tedd1es 'collection' and streamlined it hugely. Nearly have a 3rd bag ready to go.
The grotty weather has at least meant that the garden has been watered... I got wet and rather cold earlier on, but am snug and warm inside now.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
That sounds like a great day!
I think I might be about to inherit your grotty weather - right now, the overcast is almost purple!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I had another solid 8 hours of sleep last night and was miffed that the alarm went off so soon...
I am ready to break up. Just 1 more day at work - and only a half day. And I finish with my fave group.
Dd is totally ready too. She is very tired. Friendship issues are making her sad as the main friend in her little group is being a mean and nasty so-and-so to her. And to avoid her means having to not be with any of her friends, so she can't win. She doesn't want to go to school...I've given her some ideas for tomorrow. Mainly so that she has a CHOICE about who she is with, even if it's not her ideal. So I hope she'll go and play with some kids from another year.
2 bags to the Sally Army today = 2 so far this month.
Knitted a fox mitten today, and the pieces for the ears. I want to take knitting to Texas, but not half-done items - why carry a half-finished project? So I'll take wool for mouse socks or mitts - 4mm needles - or fox sox/mitts - prob 5mm needles. And the relevant patterns. Therefore, I need to finish the fox mitts and dd's mouse sock plus the ears, eyes and whiskers.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I have finished work for almost 3 weeks :j.
Dd had a much better day at school than of late :j.
Did a workout :j.
Put the ladder back in the garage so can re-arrange the garden tomorrow.
Started on a fox sock. It needs 7mm needles! But this means that it will progress quickly.
The rain watered the plants but didn't incur 'wet break'. Phew.
I have a nice lonnnnng list of things to do tomorrow. It would be a very good thing to be able to do them all. I have 3 appointments (10.30 nurse; 12.30 hair; 4.30 dd eyes) all in v different locations (thank goodness we have a car) and all with errands attached. Plus several to do at home.
Must think harder about packing... only 4 more sleeps!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
School run - done
Headspace - done

Cash withdrawn
£10 pocket money paid in to dd's account
front lawn mown

4 potatoes planted
Garden partially re-arranged

lunch munched
neighbour visited - her dd also goes to the posh school, so got some insider info
dd collected - she's soooo tired
took dd to eye appt - she needs new specs, which explains her fuzzy vision

I did ponder the wool and left it. Then went back after seeing mum and got it. There were 3 balls, but I thought 2 was sufficient...
I have called home, seen an old friend (literally old - 85), done a workout, had a shower and hairwash, read some book, sewn up some mouse sock and munched through my tea.
Am holding back on the sewing as I had to hand-hem some trousers I'd got for mum (4'' turn ups!) and don't want to overdo it.
Earthie's video makes my tablet crash at 7 mins, so I shall find another one to watch. But first, Fredericksberg...

I think it was a combo of my tablet and possibly dodgy wifi, as streaming utube in the flat doesn't often work. So it's nothing you've done/not done!
Just 2 more sleeps... We're no further nearing being packed than 2 days ago... I guess that should be tomorrow's priority! With a chilly damp day here, it is so hard to imagine weather that is over 20 degrees warmer...
We'll be travelling in 'cold-weathrr' clothes, are staying over in a hotel right by the airport so will need jamas, and the following day will head to the final destination, thus needing 'warm-weather' clothes. Hmmmm, quite a lot needing to go into hand luggage - or be packed at the top of the cases...
Think I've been ostrich-ing about packing!
We skipped dance today - dd is pooped - but we did drop a bag to the sally army and go round the ch shops. Dd bought 2 books and I bought her a further 2, plus 1 for myself (1.99) and a thick felt kit for making a bag but I'm going to use the thick felt for cmas decs (1.99).
Dd played out on her scooter, but managed to fall off and skin her hands and a knee - through thick cords. Pleased she wasn;t in leggings.
We have had a poirot-fest today. Much enjoyed! I did a kettlebell workout this morning. Whilst the tv was on, there were ads for WW and dd tactfully told me that she thought it would be a good idea for me... Oh dear, she is worried about me...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Ugh, another not-so-good night's sleep. I'm waking up at 4.30 ish, going to the loo, and then being unable to get back to sleep. Dh has been fidgetty, which hasn't helped at all. So today, I came downstairs at about 5.30 and made up a bed on the sofa. I was in a jama top, tracky trousers, fleece, and lying on a fleece blanket under a thick blanket and another thick fleecy blanket. I was snug as a bug! And did manage to doze a little. Dh came down around 7.15am - why? He never gets up at that time at the weekend! And he was miffed that I'd not told hime to stop fidgetting... As if that would have made a difference at all!
Anyhow, he has toddled off to church on the bus as he has some cables that Kids Klub need. Dd and I are still in our jamas. We breakfasted with Blue Peter and are now about to start some serious packing...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
