The building was an original, I think, Karma, so not designed for invalids! The was a stone threshold - not massive, but wouldn't be classed as 'wheelchair friendly'. You could get to the loos by going out the front and round and down the courtyard, but frankly, it would have been just as much worK.

No lightning bolts here, just some on and off very heavy rain. We went to a museum, but it was a very miltary, navy one so dd and I didn't last very long.

We venturd over to yet another thrift store! Definitely one worth visiting. $6 got us a ls exercisetop + sleeveless ex top + thick white wool for me; a bk for dh; some lace, threads and a bk for dd. Bargains again! But I think we are all out of thrift stores now...

Then after lunch it had stopped raining so we went to Old Tunnel state park. Only a 1 or 2 mile walk - it's a tiny place, made into a state park by virtue of having an old railroad tunnel in it that is home to several million (?)bats. And also in the tunnel are some beetles that process the bat guana. And are also flesh eating!!! It was well fenced off, but stank somewhat.

V glad not to have been visited by a tornado in the night...

Dd slept for about 11.5 hours - unheard of. It was a cold night that even had me needing a blanket at 5am.

    Did a home-made w/o:
    20x 10/35:
rocket launchers (narrow to wide feet + jump up every 3rd one)
    shrimp(?) 1-legged squat R
    L
Reverse lunge with kick up R
    L

Twas enough to get the ticker ticking away hard!

And we have been to see MIL, had lunch and been back into town. It's not far but there's no pavements for the first bit and it is rather a main road, so walking is out of the question. Dd got a colour-changing tee-shirt. We also bought 5 metal signs for the 4 kids and us.

Soon, we're back out to the Rock - the sun is shining. Can't wait!

We had a good traipse around the state park - about 4-5 miles. We went up and down the rock again and then walked 1.5 miles to a viewpoint that was frankly rubbish! And back again. It was lovely to be out in the sunshine, doing something so physical.

Tomorrow we are meeting a friend of MIL for lunch, then popping back to see her.

    Then packing.

Currently in San Antonio airport. We got here rather early, leaving Freds at 6.30am, but are glad to be here as we had no idea if traffic would be bad.

Lots of waiting around will be done and a total of about 20 hours of travelling should get us home - depending on the M25 of course...

I like that this airport has sockets on the seats for charging, and... bins (!) so we can dispose of rubbish. Easily pleased am I.

    Home, sweet home.

It took us about 22.5 hours all-in. First thing we did? Went to bed for 3 hours!

Dh has a coffee; dd is still sleeping - will give her extra; and a wash is on.

We have come home with money, and paid for everything except the accommodation with cash, so I'm thinking it'll be simple to add up the total cost: flights + car + accommodation + cash taken - cash brought back.

Hmm, what to have for tea? Ate a lot of chicken whilst away. No onions or potatoes in.

Opted for cooking up a couple of inches of chorizo and added carrot, tin toms, tin chickpeas, froz sweetcorn, froz spinach and a good shake of garlic granules. Part zapped it and ate with toast. Absolutely yummy. And 2 portions left :D.
