    Thank you greent.

It did take us most of the day to pack, though we weren't exactly 100% focused on it. All our hold bags are loosely packed. None of them are anywhere near the 23kg limit. But all our hand luggage is solidly packed! Dd has packed a syl fam caravan along with oodles of syl fam critters and stuff in her rucksack! I'm trying to cram as much food for dd as I can into mine - I have a sneaky but unfounded worry that our bags won't arrive and that is where I've put some more food for her, so she'd therefore be hungry. We'll not eat before leaving, and she'll prob not eat the airline food, so she needs bfast, lunch and tea. And possibly food for tuesday's breakfast too... Yikes!

We don't have a very early flight - though when you realise that you have to be there 3 hours before the flight leaves, then it does make a difference. Driving round to H'row for 8am on the M25 and in Monday morning rush hour won't be much fun...

Hoping for at least some sleep tonight... and an early enough wake up for the big people to have a morning coffee...

The travelling all went smoothly, thanks. And the bags also arrived nicely. Phew. V impressed with Dallas Fort Worth (love that the initials are Debt Free Wanabe!) as although I had to be re-scanned (new passport), once we got our bags, the next check-in point was just 3 blokes 100 yards further on round a corner - all v easy.

Dh chose to read the book about the Hudson River air crash/landing... Why??? Beyond my understanding...

All in all I think we were travelling for about 21 hours, door to door. We kind of slept well - I turned the aircon off and we settled better without its constant on-off-ness - and are all breakfasted and having a chilled half hour before heading to our final destination. The sun is shining and our hire car is a little red beetle.

:kisses3: Yes you are! Loving the DFW-ness too :rotfl:

Remember the Hudson River thing was a 1 in 10 million event. And human skill made sure that no one was killed :):):) I used to have such a phobia, and now, I don't have to struggle with it, it's really gone. Very freeing :)

Happy Trails :j (it's a Roy Rogers thing).

We have arrived at Freds, been food shopping (how much?!?!), been to see MIL, and popped to the thrift store for 3 mins - will return tomorrow, as our place's version of 'kitchenware' consists of 4 of each of plastic bowls, plates, knives, forks, spoons and 2 small lidless pans and frying pans. We can easily spend some pennies there, and leave the stuff behind. Otherwise we cannot cook!
