Lots of ups and downs for you, apple. That's pretty awkward with your washing and your neighbour :(

Actually, the overriding things I'm left with is wool for the fox sox :):):) and how lovely that your visit went well. Enjoy the online research :)

The neighbour isn't always to be relied on...!

I did ponder the wool and left it. Then went back after seeing mum and got it. There were 3 balls, but I thought 2 was sufficient...

I have called home, seen an old friend (literally old - 85), done a workout, had a shower and hairwash, read some book, sewn up some mouse sock and munched through my tea.

Am holding back on the sewing as I had to hand-hem some trousers I'd got for mum (4'' turn ups!) and don't want to overdo it.

Earthie's video makes my tablet crash at 7 mins, so I shall find another one to watch. But first, Fredericksberg...

Fredericksburg was fun! I didn't get back to utube, oops.

Had a solid 9.5 hours sleep, I hadn't realised I was so tired! And only woke because I'd set my alarm. Just as well as we lose an hour tonight and I'm on kidz klub so have to be out at 9am tomorrow.

Decided not to see mum - but to leave it as having had a happy time.

Decided to walk to the train (1.8m) instead of catching the bus, thus saving £2.40, but - more importantly - get some exercise. The flat has a full-length mirror - which we don't have at home. It was an eye-opener, so I took some never-to-be-seen-by-anyone-else pics. The walk was very brisk as goggle reckoned I'd not catch the train I wanted. Ha! to goggle - I made it with 4 mins to spare. Then the train was 5 mins late...

So I'm home; dd and dh are out at dance until 3 ish; we're not going to the mad hatter's charity tea party at ch - phew; and I've found some rugby on the box.

Lunch has been munched and I'm now aiming to do some tidying and clearing of my own gubbins, whilst keeping the box in full view...

Ug, good mirrors :( you're brave! I tend to delete those shots ... good for you for putting google in the wrong (I might have to adapt goggle, that's brilliant). And 9.5 hours sleep is amazing, you must absolutely have needed it. Bet you sleep well again with the travelling and the extra walk :)

No-one else has noticed my clearing - but I know it has been done.

Packed up the rasp cuttings (from last autumn, oops) into sacks for the tip, thus clearing a platform on dd's climbing frame. She was grateful, which was nice.

Have dug over the last 1-2' of soil-to-dig-over, and have removed a gazillion crocosmia bulbs - many of them stacked on top of each other. I may plant a few in the front, to bring some bright colours to it. Anyone know which one(s) of the stacks of bulbs I should use?

Hope to sleep well tonight, though I may well keep waking up thinking that I'm late... Can't remember if my clock u

pdates on its own, so must remember to set my phone alarm...

Waking up was no problem - we'd set the tick-tock alarm, just in case.

Today was much much chillier than of late - pesky east wind.

Just 1 week of work left...

Dh thinks he now has the parts to sort the wash machine... I have prepared a bunch of stuff to be washed, for if he manages to fix it... Otherwise I'll be at the launderette on Tues...

Spent a while taking photos of dd's books to try to sell some on gumt once we're back. Several gazillion Ra1nbow magic ones plus some other sets. I have named the photos and saved them on my laptop. Slow progress, but a step in the right direction.

Discovered that where we are staying in Freds doesn't have a wash machine. But a quick goggle search found several in the town. Phew! Taking clothing for 8 days is way more than taking for 3 and washing it. And I want space for... not quite sure what, but I want to travel light and have space for gf df food that we can't get here maybe? Prob not going to fill the space with 'souvenirs'. Tho it may be our last trip out there, so a/some memento/s would be a good idea...

Thank you karma. I like to know what's coming up in the month ahead, and then enjoy looking back.

It's not so much about the money as it is for other people, but I'm using frugaldom's spreadsheet along with one dh made and it's interesting. And that is saying something, as a former spreadsheet-a-phobic... And I'll enjoy looking at the numbers - if I can be consistent in filling them in.

Dd gave me my mother's day present today - 3 members of the sylvan1an meerkat family, with an adopted baby and clothing, cot, blanket. Plus a little hand made beautiful sign. Such a thoughtful present, as the meerkats are my fave family and make me smile.

The month has started with my first NSD. Yay. And we have 2 bags ready for the sally army and a pile for the next bag starting. Dd thanked me today for making her sort through things.

I still haven't done my folder of marking at work; but I did get several niggly tasks done that could only be done there, and that having done them, my brain was better equipped to face the rest of the day. (Woke after 2 hours of sleep and took about 3 hours to get back to sleep before waking again just before my alarm 2 hours later - ugh).

Had a lovely clear drive home, and the great big oak tree I pass has started to bud. It's the last tree to lose its leaves - and the last to produce them too. It's an impressive tree to see.
