We have been offered two complimentary tickets to see the production at the posh school. Needless to say, I emailed them back pronto with my requested date!
Dd cycled home after taekwondo barefoot! Tough cookie, that one.
The exam board have decided that they still love me and I have had my 2nd contract through. Phew. One of the roles will involve a trip to Manchesterland and I fully intend going to Stockport to loiter round my early childhood house. I may even walk around the block where we used to play, and locate the hedge where I found the broken 'gold' watch.
I must remember to keep a clear note of my exercise and therefore see my progression.
I reclaimed some expenses today, so will pay them off the mortgage once they've cleared. I don't feel a need to save to Texas at Easter, as we have the pennies in savings. But I do have a need to keep bringing down the mortgage. It's quite exciting to think of getting it into 4 digits... Though I hasten to add that that will not be happening this year!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dh told me that t1ger are having a sale - everything down to £2. I am sorely tempted to go and see what there is, as I think that they do yoga mats and I'd like to get one for the men at the train stn. But I would then be tempted by other gubbins. And it would take a lot of time up, as it is not very local... And I'm trying not to spend! Maybe I could send him on his own... Or just pretend that it's not happening...
Anyhow, up and at 'em. 2x shoulder exercises done. Headspace done - it didn't register yesterday's session for some reason, so it thinks that my winning streak of 46 came to an end and I am back to ...1. And coffee is brewing.
The day has begun.

Well done on going for a run. I've just started running again after being hitty missy with it for the last couple of years. I did my one and only Marathon at almost 39, one was enough
I have signed up for C25K at a local running club. I could run for longer than the first few weeks training now but wanted structure and a goal to aim for.
Is there anything like that where you are? We are all shapes and sizes and ages from about 12 to 60s.

I'm sure that there are running clubs XSpender, and there is definitely 1 parkrun venue I might consider. Maybe I'm just ornery and want to do it myself... When I used to run, I ran alone and pored over OS maps to memorise new routes. The only club I ever joined was in my first teaching post and we were the W Bog Trotters. I adored running off road - the muddier the better!
Am planning to go out first thing tomorrow morning. My kit is all downstairs, so I can just get up, get dressed and get out of the door. If I'm awake - and remember - I'll take my garmin. But frankly, I'm not going far enough to really need it, and my fitbit can measure the distance just fine. But thinking about it, the garmin tracks the route and would, hopefully, be good to use to see progress over time...
A quiet weekend ahead, I think. Just dance and church on the calendar so far... We could do with a bit of down time...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Dd told me last night that she wanted to come with me on my run... Yikes. If she ran, I'm sure she'd be much quicker than me! But she meant on her bike. Nothing I said could put her off. Even the fact that she would have to get up and gt dressed super quickly and come out without breakfast deterred her.
However, I was up at 6.50 after a night of really odd dreams - poor dh got woken up rather a lot by me as I talk and move around too. So I was out soon after 7 on my own. I went quite a bit further than on Thurs, and ran more of it. It was dark so I did a route that was mostly round the streets until it was light enough to take the footpath up and over by the woods.
I am showered, fed and coffeed. Ready for a snooze now...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Had a chat with a friend while our dds were dancing. She asked why we hadn't paid off the mortgage, given that we have the money. And I don't really know why... I might suggest to dh that we pay down 10k... Then we'd be into 4 figures
.
We gave dd's old bike to some neighbours today. I then discovered dd and her friend - the very-much-bigger sister of the girl we gave it to - riding it around the green, having great fun on a tiny bike!
I think that I have finally managed an added-sugar-free day :j. Which usually also equates to a grain-free day. :T Go me!
Am v glad still to have another day left of the weekend.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thanks karma. The focus for a while (several years) was to get to mortgage neutral, as we're offset and I do recall the feeling of 'hmmm, what to do now' once we got there.
It might be that with dh's mum in Texas - and quite frail now - and his kids in Oz and Canada, then we wanted more ready cash for if we needed to get out there quickly.
Or we might simply be hoarders...!!
We skipped church today. Dd went to bed with a hurting back, aching shoulders, non-functioning legs (according to her) and eventually came to share my bed and kicked dh to the spare room. None of us slept well! She's also quite pale so I decided to keep her home. She has pottered around and done her homework. She's also put up her twizzle swing and played on it, so her back + shoulders must be a teeny but better (though I've not mentioned it to her!). She's now at a friend's house as the friend's mum wouldn't let the friend play out, but would let dd play in the house.
And I've paid some more off the mortgage so we are in the 17000s now :TNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Have been to my physio. Ouchie. I have stretched out the next appt to 5 weeks - it was going to be 4, but that fell in half term. I seriously hope my shoulder will be so much better that I don't need to go back... Doing the exercises -and not tweaking it again - is key here.
Dh has done a little looking at flying to San Antonio in April. Ouch to the cost of the flights! He's looking at anywhere from 7-10 days, and I have pointed out that even if the 10-day flights are 100 cheaper than the 7-day ones, we do still have to pay for accommodation, food and travel and entertainment for those extra three days...
Dd went to her first netball club and loved it. Yet another sport!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Hope your shoulder feels better soon, apple - and ooh, a week or so in Texas sounds just fine to me2023: the year I get to buy a car0
