Good catch by XSpender!
We can't have one routine applying to everything, sadly - needs change, tasks differ, our resources vary ... you're doing great, *and* coping with a sinus infection. Breathing steam in, with a teatowel over your head?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Dd has banned us from eating any 12th night cake before jan6. Meanie! Roll on sunday...
Less sinussy and chesty today - yay. Up at 6 to go to work. Ugh. But the training was absolutely great. Grabbed the gf sarnies provided and scooted home at lunchtime to munch them with my curried parsnip soup of yumminess.
Managed to get dd to choose her speech to learn for an entrance test next week. And she's done pretty well with learning it today.
Big sis + niece are staying over tonight. Big sis seems to have pulled a back/rib muscle, and niece is so tired that she fell aseep on the sofa before 7!
Was given a bag of embroidery bits by a colleague - dd had first dibs and big sis can use the rest. Result.
Nsds going well - up to 3 so far. And the UFM emails haven't brought anything new to light yet. I am currently at -75p on spends on me v £ earned by nsds/workut/sugar free days. I wore my £1 jeans to work today and felt good in them. I am rather overweight so it was good to feel good!
Off to dig out a tube of ibu gel for big sis.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Well, the end of the hols has come. Such a shame. But it has been a wonderful time off sch together.
Tomorrow is a busy day followed by physio, so a late one too. But I will get a sch lunch, lucky me...
Dug over the bit of the back gdn where dd and I want to grow some veggies this year. Only about 15 mins of it but I can feel it in my hands and right shoulder. Sigh.
Feeling a little bit of dread and overwhelm-ment at returning to work. I know I was there on Friday, but that was a training day, so totally different. And I knew that I was only there for the morning. Oh well. Once that alarm goes off, I'll be on autopilot.
Dd isn't looking forward to going back either!
We aren't exactly a house filled with joy tonight...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thank you! My day was decent and dd rated hers as 'good'.
By the time I got home from physio, she had been through a practice maths paper, run through her script and had her tea. She then went out to cycle round for about 35 mins. I hope to get her into bed a bit earlier tonight... She ended up sleeping on our floor last night. Not ideal, but a zillion times better than her being in bed with us!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
A day of ups and downs.
Dd did the entrance exam at my school today. She seems ok about it all. I had talked to the caterers last week about the food for dd, and it all sounded good. But whoever put the food out was a numpty. And dd opted not to eat some of it because no-one could tell her that it was definitively gf and df. And she ain't daft enough to risk it! So I had a little chat with the Head who was appreciative of me telling her. The perks of it being my sch, eh?!
Whilst dd was in there, dh and I went to the nearby town for a good ol' mooch. Wilk0 yielded nowt. The £ emporium had a few bits. Pr3t had coffee! The w0rks gave us some gifts for dd's bday. Pr1marni was a goldmine - items for dd again (oopsie) and bits for dh and dsil. And then we hit sainz and it was great. Well, as great as supermarket shopping can be.... All the gf/df items that we buy for dd are there. Our local one can be hit and miss, plus they have chosen to no longer stock the one and only type of vegan cheese that they used to,and that dd will eat. Grrr. But this one is near my work, and has free parking if you spend over £10 - a no-brainer from now on.
So, dd was totally excited about her first swim lesson and it was awful. They were in the baby pool, a group of 8, the instructor barely listened to dd, only complimented her once, found fault with her, half the class were only just 'swimmers', they were unable to go into the big pool due to these un-swimming swimmers.... She was in tears. Such a disappointment for her.
However, she isn't one to wallow (too much), and has agreed that she will be doing her best to prove that she should move up a level. We plan to go swimming once a week ourselves too, and in a few weeks we'll ask one of the lifeguards to assess dd for moving up.
I have done a much-needed 12,000+ number of steps today.

Dd is now cycling to and from school.:D
I hope to have sorted out the food side of things for the next 3 days for dd at the posh school... She is understandably nervous, but is also quietly happy to be spending time there.
It is her bday on sunday and we were invited to someone's house, as a thank you for what dh did for their daughter's wedding. However, when dh emailed to remind/tell them that i'm coeliac, the reply was along the lines of that I'd already said I'd bring food for myself and dd (I hadn't - I'd only said for dd) and that there would be lots of food, as there'll be about 40 people, and there's no doubt be some stuff I could eat. That is exactly why we have decided to not go...
So we can now make the day a nice one for dd.
Amzn have messed up an order - which is so needed for dd. Dh wrote them a stroppy letter - they told us a repeat order was out of stock on the day that the order was to bedelivered, according totheir own email. Dh got a £5 gift card as a gesture and was advised to re-order, as the item jolly well was in stock!
Hmm, this seems a rather moany post. Apologies!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Not moany at all! Much more about you guys standing up for yourselves, it reads really well, congratulations.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thank you karma x. I also told my sis about the lunch invite and she agreed that it wasn't much fun to have to take your own food to a thank you meal! We have arranged a playdate for straight after church and dd is well chuffed.
I had a lovely day at work today. I usually really enjoy my thursdays. And it is my last working day of the week too, which is always a joyous time.
Dropped a bag to the SA and did not stay to peruse their stuff. Phew!. Took a pot of coins to the sorting machine in the bank - just over £21, thank you. Visited liddle and got items that dh wouldn't really think of getting - green beans, avocado, cabbage, carrot, onion, gf oats... In his defense, he'd been to aldee and got eggs, sausages, beans, wine - the important things!
Dd enjoyed her sports scholarship day and is singularly knackered! I hope to get her to bed about 30mins earlier than usual. Any more and she prob won't sleep.
Tomorrow is drama day. Dd is as ready as she'll ever be. And hopefully won't be as worn out as she is now, as Sat is entrance test day, so she'llneed a little energy left for that...
Off to put big sis's visits to mum in the calendar, and work out when I'll go.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
